It'S empowering empowerment, we will. The community is like a buzzword at the maybe, but it's because that is exactly what's happening is empowering other women and given them permission to, you know, love themselves as they are. I would straighten my hair nearly every day. I wouldn't have any sort of protectant on it, it'll be on the highest. He went to the point where it's literally sizzling and that really created a lot of damage to my hair. My hair would break it was like okay. This really needs to stop. She didn't question. I just went along with what everybody else was doing yeah, and I think that where that comes from what about everyone else doing, it is because it's been passed down from generation to generation because of colonization. Therefore, you come to this generation. That doesn't know how to look after their hair still thinks that hair is ugly, dirty unprofessional and it takes them a long journey. So you understand that you know that's not actually true, we've just been subject to someone else's opinion, as opposed to that so yeah. It'S most likely environment, a society that infused a lot of black women with the fact, with the knowledge and ideal that their hair isn't wet. Looking after there has been a shift in confidence in awareness in Pride, the confidence that comes from black women embracing themselves allows them to create space for others. So you're seeing events pop up, you're, seeing panels galleries all these kind of arts and explorative things that are popping up, allowing black women to be who they are and not be ashamed. So yeah it's it's amazing, you're, seeing different kinds of crafts entrepreneurs, I'm going up in your own businesses yeah their own products, like luckily, we've been in that space yeah and know a lot of them, and it's so amazing to see all these black womens creating these Products to help us on our journey exactly they really understand, so we could go to the American brands and the big brands, but when you have sort of people on your doorstep and that we go to these events, you actually meet them. You see the people behind the brand, you see how passionate they are to embark on the journey with us and to help us along the way. I think it's so inspiring and it's just yeah. It'S definitely you mainly because of being able to manage my hair. A lot better, my hair was very long and very thick, so I asked my mother if it would be okay to relax it, and luckily she agreed so yeah ever since then I've just been doing it. I'Ve seen a lot of people going the natural way because of the trend it's in affordability. Maybe it costs more to go the other way and natural is a lot cheaper for them, but it seems to be very popular now. Most of my friends had relaxed hair, and now I guess probably 95 percent of my friends have natural hair and that that's a change that I've seen over the last five years and back that's Matthew. I think all women should feel empowered and they should know that they have a choice. So if you see your choice to black your hair or your choice, the way your hair natural, I think that's great, and I just I like the fact that now people know that they they have the option in recent years, we've seen in the UK, but also Like globally, across the African diaspora, black people and black women, particularly questioning and rejecting many things that were, there, has been problematic for a long time and within that kind of Awakening and sense of confidence and those kind of global diasporic connections that are being made. One of the things that we've seen a merge out of that is more and more people embracing the natural texture of their hair. So I don't know that the natural hair movement informed that kind of awakened consciousness or, if the natural hair movement of heard, the result of that awakened consciousness, they're all kind of like feeding into each other and people. I think just yet have this increased confidence itself in self and one of the ways that we're seeing that manifest is all these people. I can bring all these women embracing wearing their natural hair. I know certainly well younger. I never thought I would see the day where I would be out in public without long relaxed care. I would rather die in to probably them than the public have seen me. Looking with my hair like this, but hey you

Angel Dust: Thank Goddess. I love my natural hair. These women actually represent my hair type.

Xuzedo Lastner: Black women are beautiful with their own hair. They should fight for it

witch, please: Idk about the U.K., but *in America, black women get fired for their hair, and young black kids get expelled from school for wearing afros or dreads.* Black people have always been discriminated against for everything from our skin color to hair texture. That is why this is an important topic.

Angel Dust: Why does we as Black women need validation from other people? Jesus Christ, I don't wear my hair natural to gain validation from Whites, Asians or any other group of people. Where your hair the way you want to. My boyfriend is from Jamaica and he haa dreads down to the middle of his back, he loves my natural hair. Personally I dont give a fuck what anyone thinks of my hair. I could care less. I wear a big ass afro and i love.

Paddy Theosophist: Big up to beautiful black women and their big beautiful Afros and hair-dos! Stand proud of your identity, your wonderful culture, and where you've come from!

S Hussein: Two beautiful black women.

Just Renee: as a black woman this is a significant and enlightening look on the vulnerable aspect and intuitive value of afrocentric aesthetics and its empowerment of cultural identity... this is and has been a great societal consiousness shift for black americans and to troll it exposes a deep seated inner turmoil that this video has triggered just by showing examples of SELF LOVE

doublesnotroubles: As a young 20 something white guy, i love the natural hair. Embrace it

Usamah Oba: I love a natural Black woman!

Churchy: For me, going natural is not cheaper. I take much better care of my hair as a natural than I ever did when I relaxed my hair, largely because now I LOVE my hair, I'm proud of my hair, and I enjoy my hair.

Claraftonn: It can get really expensive to maintain natural hair, but I would rather have moisturised natural healthy curls than stringy dry relaxed hair.

Marian Hanson Self-Esteem Coach: All of the women with natural hair in this video have gorgeous, full body of hair. I have an Afro under my weave and it looks nothing like your hair and could never look that good! I do wear braids, wrap my hair and experiment a lot but not everyone can wear their natural hair in a way that looks the way they want it to. I think people should wear their hair the way they want to and for the summer, I’m definitely gonna be rocking braids! Maybe one day I will go for a short, sharp natural cut!

Rae Talks: This is great to see! Channel 4 has been always been more ahead when documenting topics like this. I have a video about natural hair in Africa. The opinion varies in each region. Some did not entertain natural hair whilst others were open to it. Others thing it has religious connotations.

Chris Opium: AT LAST BLACK WOMEN WITH " REAL " HAIR !!!

Tsiresy Domingos: If you don't understand why natural black hair is such a sensitive issue, think about this: The legacy of slavery and colonisation has many manifestations, including instilling in Society as a whole - not just Black people - that straight hair is better than frizzy hair. I get it, a tiny fraction of White people do curl their hair artificially. But it doesn't even compare to the 80+ % of Black women who straighten theirs or wear weaves - both of which are reflections of subconscious insecurities. And before you comment with the "get over it, slavery was 170 years ago", remember that our ancestors always have a mark on us, whether we like it or not.

Aina Abiatar: Did she just say natural hair is a lot cheaper? Does she know how much the natural hair products cost? Overall great video ❣️❤️

Hurst Mitchell: Thank goodness. I llove all natural hair and it should be celebrated. Could Western women stop dying their hair blonde to balance it out please.

Tay Hereford: I love it. Team Natural

Honesty truth Reality: Lovely cause no other race is destroying their hair like us it’s time we value what God blesses us with and let who done like it stick a pin in it

Silent Night: I love all natural hair no matter the length or texture. Processed hair, wigs, extensions and hair pieces are as bad as skin bleaching, nose jobs etc. Be proud of what you have.

seoulkidd1: The UK got sum beautiful women.

Who Knew: Are the media only just hearing about this? Go ladies!

D Enigma: Black women are beautiful, you are powerful, you are strong , your spirit is emmence , stay confident and poised, they try to bring you down because they recognise it too. You are a powerful being , stay spiritual stay close to God , keep praying , NO ONE can tell you anyhing - So It shall be under God!!!

Image Africa: @3;19, it is NOT any cheaper to go natural. But staying natural is the best

Shah Amir Hameed-El: Nubian women are naturally exotic , stay natural , stay exotic, Peace.

David Garcia Jr: My wife Used to Buy Hair I used to buy it for her aswell, but she does not put in effort to use different Natural hair style, the other thing is Black women wearing Blue,Green and Grey contact lenses as a black man I see that as insecurity and a turn off they think they look good when from my point of View is just shows me they don't embrace their blackness.

Mimi's Craft: Yes!!!!Free the fro!

Awesome Avenger: Lol. Samson was also empowered by his hair.

Marcus Frazier: Beautiful Black Women here. And those British Accents? That's sexy to me man!

Darth Anubis: Here for the accent!

Ricma Maddafakka: is it rude to ask black woman to touch her natural hair ?when you are living in the country where you see black people only when wiz khalifa or snoop dogg is performing or something like that

Trinity_ NubianQueen: Being natural is not cheaper at all. Smh.

Norma Lathan: It’s assimilation

Silent Night: The last woman said she would rather have died than be seen out with natural hair!

Jessica Hernandez: It’s not really cheaper but it is much healthier for our hair.

Shirley Robinson: Chris Rock - Good hair movie Is it true that there’s a part in the movie where you see THE coke can itself DiSINTEGRATE when put in a bowl of hair relaxer? Really?

Kerr Avon: Why has everything now got to be about race ?

northbadger: Oh wow. Really C4! hair empowerment stories? Cringe. ...

Thomas Haines: "WAAAH MUH OPPRRSHUN!!!"
