Hey guys, so I am going on vacation soon. First, I'm going to Miami for a girls trip and then I'm going to Jamaica for a graduation trip with my family. So I'm going to attempt to do my own protective style for these upcoming trips. I wanted something that was going to last a while, and I wanted something that I could do on my own and didn't have to pay a bunch of money to do, because I have money going to other areas and I can always do my own hair. So my protective style of choice is faux locs, I'm excited, but I'm also a little bit of nervous, because I really wanted to come out how it's supposed to come out and I want it to last. Ah, it needs to last at least like three to four weeks so yeah. That'S I'm going to attempt to do in this tutorial and we will see these finished results um. So I watched another girls, YouTube video and I will be sure to link her video below and give her credits. I watched her video and she kind of made the process a little bit easier. So I'm going to follow her tutorial and let me show you all that you will need for this protective hairstyle so for the faux locs you're gon na need some regular braiding hair. So I'm using a super jumbo braid limit at a pro Beauty - Collection, 100 % pink line. This is the hair I'm using about the underneath the wrapping process. If that makes sense, you have to see what I'm talking about and then I also bought this hair, which is pre-stretched Jamaican twist hair expressions, good for crochet braids, so yeah, I got pre-stretched expressions, hair and this will be the hair that I actually wrap around the Twist that I'm doing that I'll be using this braiding hair for - and this will give me that really natural dreadlock look. So what I'm gon na do is I'm going to twist my hair first, I'm gon na twist up my entire head and I'm gon na. Add this braiding hair to it as well, because I am gon na do longer faux locs I would did. I did want to do a um bob style, which you guys will see in the other girls video that I heard other girls tutorial that I followed, but I'm gon na attempt to do the longer version of what she did, because my hair is too long to Do the bob look, so I'm just gon na go ahead and give myself some inches. I'M gon na throw myself a vacation and it's gon na be looking great, so yeah. So this is the hair you'll need we need some braiding hair. It could be really your any braiding or your favorite braiding, hair hair, and then you can use this use some marley hair or you can use jamaican twist hair. I love the difference, but that's what I'm using so for products. I just have some Jamaican mango and lime spray, and this is mostly for after my style is done. So when your selves exposed my scalp, it's the itch when it's exposed to air for a long time, especially with like parts and stuff. So I do use this to smooth the itching and the dryness of my scalp, I'm going to be using this alakay naturals lemongrass super twisting butter to twist up my hair. So this is what I'll be using to twist my hair and also be adding in this hair as well. I'M also be using, let's jam extra hold, and then I also have these little bit these little packets of taliah waajid protect from the protective styles line, and I have the restoring serum and the growth oil. So I'm going to be kind of just trying to a little bit of everything in there as I'm twisting up my hair and then I will show you guys how I will wrap up my twist to make them look like bohemian locks. So this is going to be a long process. I want to get started and start this process. So let's do this so from the tutorial. So from this tutorial I watched she said that the parts don't have to be neat, because bohemian locks are supposed to look a little bit kind of like old and not too uniform supposed to look a little bit rough in the roots. So that says, I think, what I'm gon na do, I'm just going to free part with my hands and I will use my rat tail as needed. So once I get here, I'm going to go ahead and start twisting and I'm gon na be doing a smaller twist, because I do want a good amount of locks. Right now is I'm just loosely very loosely attaching braiding the hair in and once I get to a good point, I'm going to just start to do a twist instead of a braid. So I'm going from braid to twist all right guys. So I have four locks done so far, and this was the first one you can see it's a little bit less. I guess it's a little bit more messy than these, because these I kind of got my footing and figured out what I really want to do. So ignore this one, this was the first one. I did that's my tester and now that I've kind of found my footing, these locks came out a lot a lot better. So I'm gon na show you guys the full process and how I tie it off or how I get it to be, how I lock it up at the end, so it doesn't unravel and yeah. So I'll just show you guys how I do them. I'M gon na start a new section now that I've got the whole back row done. So what I'm doing right now, if I'm just messing up the pattern of the twist hair, the Jamaican twist hair, so that it can be so it's not too uniform, because I want it to wrap evenly and nicely around the braid. So what I do is, I start here. I put it on to the braid, and then I take this part, and I start wrapping at the roots and my braids are not all the way to the root just because they don't have to be super neat because it won't be seen because it'll be wrapped. So just take it put your end piece down, that'll, be wrapped into the lock and then start the process I'm trying to get as close to the root as possible, so I'm just taking the hair and wrapping it. What I'm trying to do is kind of spread. This out a little bit just so that it can wrap and cover more of the braid than if it was you know, scrunch together all right. So I saw some braids hanging out and I finished the twist hair. So I'm going to do is the exact same thing I did at the root I'm going to start here and continue wrapping I'm going to wrap tight. So I know in the video that I'm following she starts off rapping loosely and then goes back with another piece of hair and wrap sit tight, but I'm just gon na start off tight and then wrap it again with another small piece really tight, because I want Mine to be really secure and they have to last me a while and it's my first time doing it. So I don't want you know, I don't want to have to do with my hair coming undone while I'm on vacation and having, I like, you know, figure out how to repair it. So you want to make sure that you're not doing the twist and that you're wrapping the hair around, because I made the mistake of you know just twisting both pieces. But you only supposed to move the part that you're wrapping with. So I'm wrapping with this part - and this is the only part - that's moving all right so once I get to the end, this is the piece that is in the middle, and this is the wrapping piece. So I'm gon na take the wrap piece and go back up until I have no more hair left and then once I do that I'm going to make a little knot just to secure it. So what I do is, I usually not it to the lock so I'll make I'll loosen it if I need to and then I'll make just a little loop. I hope you guys can see this, and I will not it on the lock just like that. So this was the wrapping piece and then this is the other piece and then once I do that, I finished wrapping that off. Then what I'm gon na do is just kind of mesh the hair together palm roll it, and then this piece gets cut off. So now that this law, so now this lock is done. I'M going to take just a tiny, tiny bit of this Jamaican twist hair and I'm going to rewrap my lock really tightly so I'm going to do the same method and this one is going to be a little bit looser as far as so when you wrap It this one's going to have space in between it, so you won't be. You won't be wrapping it as close together, where this covers the whole braid you're kind of doing like a downward spiral, but really tight. Then I'm going to take this part and tie it as well remember to wrap it tightly tight tight tight. So I know you guys see this little hiccup right here. That does not matter. It does not have to be perfect because these locks are supposed to look very realistic, so they can be really really messy. They do not have to be perfect all right, so I have completely finished my locks and once you finish, you're going to dip them in hot boiling hot water, so I'm gon na do that really quickly I'll be back to show you guys the finished photo. Op! Look so this is about how long my locs ended up being. They are about bellybutton length, which is pretty long. I'M almost touching my butt, but yes, I love love, love them, I'm so proud of myself, because it just seems like some of these styles aren't possible, but they're, really not you have to give it a try, have faith in yourself and you know just follow up. Tutorials as best as you can and try to get the results you want, so I hope you guys are able to try this style on your own. Please tag me if you do decide to try out your own photo box. I want to see the work. The work that you guys do also don't give up if you do try and doesn't work out, keep on trying. Look at other tutorials try to find a method that works best for you. That'S why I had to do it. I took another tutorial and I modified it, but it worked best for me and I'm so pleased with my bow locks. They look so so good and I could not be more pleased with this. So I'm gon na show you guys a little close-up of my hair and thank you guys for watching oksu toriel was super helpful. Don'T forget to comment what you think below and thumbs up thanks guys,

Tia Cameron: Try washing the hair in water and Apple cider vinegar before you use it. It helps with less itching

akilah: they look soooo good! how long did it take you?

Rox Pelagio: They look nice. What does adding the second bit of hair do btw? I'm considering this method, I bought 'Spetra miracle fiber stretch braid' just hoping my hair doesn't unravel.

Latic Heart: This is done very well i think because your lick thickness is even and great. Beautiful job. I always wind up varying sizes lol❤

Hailey Davis: Okay I NEED to know how long they lasted for you. I'm about to do my locs but I've always crocheted my hair through the base of my braid, then wrapped it. But seeing you just start wrapping without having to loop any hair through your actual braid got me thinking it's probably less tension on your hair doing it how you are. So yeah, if I could get an answer on how long they actually lasted and if they slid down at all would be a huge help

Slaying it With Ray: These look so good!!

DeeDee: First of all, you are so pretty!! I loved this method but want to ask if you’ve ever had faux locs where the stylist burns the hair and rubs it as she’s wrapping it down? I’ve only ever had stylist do it that way and assumed it was to secure it so it doesn’t unravel. But your method seems just ask secure! So can I completely skip the burning part? Thanks and Happy New Year

The Teeya Skipper: Yessssss they came out great

LaNeatra - Plans with LaNeatra: How long did it talk you to complete this style? Love it by the way!

Gods Angel: OMG!!! Your hair is beautiful.

Sarah Vil: I like this!!!! How long did it take to finish the style?

Cassandra Vick: Beautiful job

Black Barbiee: You did really good thank you

Destiny M.: How many packs did you use of each? Just 1? Also, how many locs did you have on total?

Quisha Kinlaw: They came out beautifully but ooo girl you have a lot of patience! That must have taken foreverrrr lol

Jay Luv: Just a quick suggestion. I noticed that you said that you couldn't do the Bob look what has your hair was too long. I had the same issue and I found that if you fold your braids to make it look at short as you want it to be and then wrap the hair over the part that you folded you'll get that Bob look without having to cut your hair.

ah: Looks good how long did they take?

Trudy-Ann Currie: Very Nice! How long did it take you to complete? I have been trying to install a new style, none are working out. This may be just what I need.

Brittani Andrews: Beautiful results. Were they itchy on the skin at all??

Z3000: I have no idea how this works - I've tried it and it keeps untwisting when I wrap their hair extensions around the braid. it always comes loose so I've just stuck to braids. can anyone tell me how to stop that from happening?

Gyasi Gambrell: How long do they last?

Treauna Taylor: How long did this style last?

Erica W: Excellent work ☺️☺️☺️☺️

jayda marie: how long did this take you to do??

Marlene Lyles: If you want to do a short bob it’s the same process. Stop where you want your length to be & take ur loose end and fold it up & hold it with a rubber band then take ur Marley hair and wrap it over to the end.

june safford: You are going to need to do another video showing how to take the braids down without damaging the hair! Haha!

Abiola S.: I did 2 locs as a trial, they came out hard and stiff. Advice from anyone on a possible remedy?

Pita Pita: How long can we keep this style? Can i keep it like a whole year? Thankyou

El Belle: How many locs do you have in total...this looks good✊‼️ I’ve always done mine shorter I think I want it longer this time Nvm hun...seen the answer in the commentsthanks

Jasmine Hardy: I want you to know that you are absolutely beautiful!

Aicha Dixon: How many packs of the Marley hair & the price

Imani Mention: How long did the whole process take you?

Offtopic K: Hair style is fire

Ashala Princess: I have a question so do you use regular braiding hair first to braid the hair down then add the twist hair to wrap?

yes covenant: Super pretty

alena ralph: I love it

CurlyMikky: YESSS ARI GIRL. THESE ARE

Sincerely Prisca: Thanks for sharing

Adeshia Sims: Did you only use 1 pack of the braiding hair for the braids underneath and just the 3 pack of hair for your entire head for the loc process? I’m doing this hairstyle tomorrow and want to be sure I have enough hair. I’ll definitely be sending you pictures love

Deanna Fair: How long did these last?

smh: loveeeeeeuhhhhhhhh it !
