Hello, my name is Stephanie Haynes and I am going to demonstrate to you how to do a finger wave style now. What I'm going to show you is the old-school finger way style. You sheep, the model doesn't have a relaxer, so I can't put gel on her hair to give her the traditional finger wave with the jail, so we're going to do a drive finger wave on her. So what I have done is I've curled, the top part of her hair and we're going to calm it down we're going to start forming the finger wave. Now it looks like a curls are all been combat, but they have not. The form is still in there. So we're going to form the way now. What we're going to have to do is form and spray form and spring now, once I spray it we're going to have to make sure that that way stays in there, so I always have when you're doing the waves. This way always have a curling iron. That is warm because once you spray it you're going to have to apply some heat so that that wave can stay in, because this is a dry finger way. These are the kind of finger waves you used to see like in the 40s and the 50s. It'S always important to make sure you have the Ridge. That'S like the prettiest part of the finger waves, making sure that you have that Ridge. You don't want to lay down too flat. So at this point we'll take the heat go down. You see the wave forming here, the next ridge. What we're going to do is we're going to go around just a top part of her hair. You want to make sure that when you start with this next section that you fill it in into the previous weighed part of the hair spring, you can continue this process all the way through either to the bottom of the hair or around the top perimeter. And then curl the rest of it or do put whatever it says where you want to put in the hair, just remember to form the ridges and to make sure you put the heat on it. When you finish, if you're going to lay the waves down on the on the forehead, you can take your curling iron again and lay it down and then, as you see, that later down a little bit and then you might want to just put like a little Hair pin in there just to make sure that this stays in but again again my name is Stephanie Haines and I just demonstrated to you how to do a finger wave style on non relaxed, dry hair. You

Laced By Swagg: This lady is the business!!! Very well executed and well explained and it was gorgeous!

Anita Kusler: Thank you for this tutorial of a dry finger wave!  I love that you can do this when your hair is already dried! As most tutorials and books on doing finger waves is of starting with your hair being wet!

Roxcy Lou: Amazing job. I never knew there was a difference in finger waves until today. Very informative.

CottonCandyDiva: This is awesome recently I was told by a licensed stylist you couldn't get great fingerwaves on natural hair and dry waves at that interesting what some stylist will tell you just to get out on the easy stick Thank you so much

Ms.Holloway: Thank you Stephanie for the tutorial. My 80+++yo Grandma can't find a hairdresser in 2019 to do this for her. So this is extremely helpful.

Tanya: You can also use the push and pinch method. It doesn't require the use of hair spray, wave clips/clamps or a curling iron after the hair has already been curled.

It's funny how time flys: Some people in these comments have weak spirits and low character...SHE is a natural beautiful chocolate skinned woman who doesn't have any makeup on and natural hair GROWN from her head...smh
