Hair Trends: What Is Balayage?

Hi, I'm min Kim and I'm Vanessa Fernandez and we're here at butterfly, studio salon in New York City today. What we're gon na do is create three unique looks using balayage. What is Bali as you asked? So what we've done is take three awesome girls and transform them into butterfly babes for the summertime look. What we're doing today is creating something that's customized for this really awesome short haircut. I was inspired by Twiggy when I met Emily, so we're gon na take this hair and make it really fun and modern, with some bright bold pieces. The first step when you come in is the consultation. This is when we would discuss lifestyle maintenance and any long-term hair goals you might have. The second part is application for the crop. It'S really very focused on the placement to accentuate the haircut and face shape after the application. If you're really lucky, you might get to sit under the rollerball, the rollerball is what helps to facilitate the processing. So you get that extra pop around the face. One of the cool things about balayage is the plastic, because I can see the color as it's lifting. I know exactly when it's ready to rinse so today on Emily, I'm gon na create a fun look that she can style at home herself with a blow dryer kind of going back and forth with her hands, using the shape of her head. And after I'm, going to use some pomade and kind of make it fun and PC gulia is our brand. A brand is a brunette that has blonde going through the mids in the ends. So, if you think of the inspiration behind a beach goddess, that's where this is really coming from. Imagine what your hair would look like after the end of summer for our long-haired butterfly base. This application is focusing more on the mids in the ends. So today, on my gorgeous model, goalie, I'm going to create some sexy Beach ways by using a small brush twisting and turning kind of shaking her out and creating some bounce Tawney is our unicorn. She has virgin hair, so I'm going to use balayage to help accentuate a low-maintenance short new, do and keep it simple. The color on our lob is very different than our other two looks because of how subtle and natural it is. This was done specifically because she hadn't colored her hair in a long time, and I wanted it to be effortless and easy to maintain. So are my gorgeous model toddy, I'm gon na emphasize her log, look, which is a long bob, it's very in for summer, going to blow out some fun straight pieces kind of put in some texture with some pomade and she's ready for any season.
