Hi there! For this tutorial, I am cutting my son Joey's hair. I used the scissor over comb technique on his hair dry. We also used thinning shears to texture and thin out his thick hair. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy:)

Hi, I'm Tammy and today we're going to be doing a boys haircut. Okay, this is my son, Joey and Mimi we're going to be doing a haircut today. We'Re not going to be doing a whole lot, I'm just going to be trimming it up and shaping it. We'Re really trying to not so much change the haircut just more trim it up. The scissors are going to be using our sake. Shears there's six inch, stainless steel, they're kind of heavy, but I really like them, because the 6 inch covers more ground, they're, really good. For men's haircuts, boys haircuts dry, cutting, I really like them, I'm going to use them in the video today, I'm also going to be using these new thinning shears. I got there also sake shears 6 inch, and these are really nice thinning shears. They just cut through the hair, they don't pull on it and I've been getting a lot of use out of these as well. So I wanted to share with you these scissors that I just got and what I'm going to be using in the video so I'll put a link in the description box. If you're interested we're going to be doing a dry haircut and I'm going to doing a lot of scissor over comb, work, we're going to start at the bottom you're going to tilt your comb just a little bit and then I'm just going to lift it out. Like this as I go as I'm cutting, I'm sort of going like this, it's going to make it be cut to the shape of the head, so I just kind of keep going over this area here now. I finished the middle up here and I helped my comb up like this, but, as I pulled around the head, I'm going to go up this way with the palm to do my scissor over comb one so you're gon na have to just go through it. Like a few times now, the sides I'm going to do the same thing, we're just going to be shaping it around his head. Now we're going to go back over this with the texturizing shears and then I was kind of cleaning out what wasn't exactly perfect. We do the same thing on the other side, I'm just going to trim the top as well. I'M just going to pull it all up, just going to be cutting about probably a half inch to 1/4 inch right in this chapter area. He'S got super thick hair. So we're going to go through this afterwards and thin it all out. Now, I'm going to round it out and by doing that, I'm going to connect the sides at the top and I'm going to pull this forward like this and I'm going to round my fingers. I'M going to round it all out at this point. What I'm doing is I'm connecting the top of the side by rounding everything out to the shape of the head and I'm going to pull it up and I'm going to double-check it on the set direction. Now I'm going to take my texturizing shears /, fitting shares and blend it and thin it off and we're just going to go through its and texture as Ian I'm always going to go through the same way. I went through it with cutting and I'm going to chap in there this area here, so it doesn't get like too mushroomy, and it rolls out. I just chopped it in the back. Cuz he's got super thick hair. This back part, I'm really going to just take for this up with my texturizing shares and we're going to do a lot of blending in here. Like this, don't want ever youth in our hair. You don't want to go right to the scalp, because then you have like all these little pokey hairs. You kind of want to go. Put your fingers there. First, he's got pretty thick hair, so I'm just going to go in there and thin it out now to clean this up when you're cutting someone's here any boy or man's hair right, you want to make sure that their head is not forward. You want to make sure that their chin is level with the floor, so then it can be straight across right here. I'M going to pull this ear out of the way and we're just going to cut straight across, like this now there's going to be a little hair left over I'm just going to clean that up with my razor, especially with boys and men's haircuts. You can see if you really look at it, you can see where it needs, work and see. I could see it's like a little heavy right there, I'm just going to go in there being that part, and I, like it pretty textured in the bang area too. So it doesn't have that, like straight across bein loved you go use a little bit of structure wax my red pen. It'S just a little bit like pull me a wet stuff, just to give a little bit of a style. Okay, these are the results. That'S it
