Hair is hair, no matter the gender of the person.. So in the spirit of doing whatever we want, we decided to celebrate the most beautiful spring hairstyles on long locks that just so happened to belong to men., But first ..., The history of men and long hair.. Throughout history, men’s hairstyles have been heavily influenced by religion, social status, wars and celebrities. From the glorious long-haired Samurai Warriors to the wigs and riches of the 17th Century. Frenchmen to the Rastafarian-inspired dreadlocks mainstreamed by Bob Marley in the ‘70s. Long locks on men have evolved drastically over time. In the present we’ve, seen the rise and fall of man, buns Uzi Vert and Bieber dreads Kaepernick’s controversial, fro and even the carefree bro flow.. It seems that these days, just about anything goes., I originally started growing out my hair, because I wanted to do Locks of Love.. Well, I usually just ..., I’ll put it up in a bun or where you just put this part in a pony.. I don’t know what that’s called. I don’t know how girls do that with your arms., My shoulders get tired after three seconds.. Every time I call my mom. She always asks “Have, you cut your hair, yet Matt ” Come on. Give me a break Please.. Am I pretty now I don’t want to touch it.. This would definitely be an upgrade to my normal hair look., A little something more fresh. You know I feel like I could pull this off.. I just need to invest in some bobby pins.. Is that what Bobby pins. Twist and pin I have been growing my hair out for about five years now., I decided to pick a hairstyle where I don’t have to do my hair a lot but still have a good natural look to myself.. I have missed out on opportunities because of the length of my hair, but I’ve also gained a lot of opportunities from the length of my hair as well, because not everybody can grow the type of hair that I have or maybe pull it off the way I Pull it off, I should say. Hey Okay.. That is what I’m talking about. Makes me feel good. One, because my hair is not everywhere.. I don’t have to worry about the the wind blowing or anything like this or my hair. In my face. I can just go.. I feel like I’m freer. I should say. I’ve been growing my hair for about three years.. My daughter loves playing with my hair.. She tends to braid it, but she doesn’t really know how to braid yet.. My mom was like “So. How long are you gon na? Let it go ?'', Because you know It was long., It was getting really long.''. Are you listening to metal Josh What’s going on ” I’ve actually been doing braids a lot lately, just because it gets it out of the way.. I sometimes do one braid, like they wear in Portlandia. It’s, been a lot of fun. Having long hair., I get to try a bunch of different styles and keep things fresh and changing all the time. There’s a functionality to braids. I love and I think this kind of spiral thing it’s some crazy geometry, shit going on right, now., I’m into that., I think yeah.. I wear my hair all kinds of ways, and this is probably the most fancy it’s been, but I’m excited to go. Wear it out. I’ve been growing my hair for ... since second grade. I think., Maybe like 15 14 years. I’m from D.C., so everybody at home has locks., But I also went to Pepperdine, which is a predominantly white area.. It was just ..., they were in awe.. I got so many questions. “Is it real ”, So many different perceptions, depending on the person’s background.. Having long hair shows commitment., It shows personality.. It shows the ability to stick to something for a long amount of time through adversity., A tip for people who are trying to grow their hair. Long don’t cheat. Don’t get fake, extensions. Actually put in the work., Go through each stage.. Oh that’s dope. I like the designs in the back., It looks really cool.. It would be actually kind of hard for me to do it myself, but I do actually really like it.. I didn’t want to get a haircut, so I just never did and it just kept going.. My Mom has dreads that’s pretty cool., We’re kind of on a hair-off kind of thing.. The only people that have told me to cut my hair would be directors and, if they’re telling me I just say, no. And then I don’t take the role. Most of the time. Wind is what styles my hair. I’m. Sorry, if it’s a pain to comb, my hair. Whoa, It goes all the way. Back. I don’t know., Maybe a little too femme for me.. It makes me think of Princess Leia. And I, like the poof anyway., The poof's fun. I’ve been growing my hair for about three or four years.. I just trim the tips every couple of months. Most of the time people think it’s a wig or it’s fake and they ask “Oh. Can I touch your hair? ” As I was growing out my hair every couple of months? It was really nice and then maybe there will be a stage after that, where you know “Why the hell. Does my hair look like this? ” The next stage will be “Okay. It looks good again.” And then it’s, just a back and forth.. Am I nervous Just a little bit because I don’t even know what’s going to happen but YOLO. I look like I’ve transformed and stuff.. You can see my face now.. This hair makes me feel like I could drive with the window down now.. I have been growing out my hair for two years.. The shape of the back of my head didn't match the front of my forehead, so I was like “I’m just gon na grow out. My hair.” Long hair will get all over your face and in your mouth and in your nose and wherever your face is at. It’s gon na get all over. So be prepared., I’m the type of guy that will take risk.. What Whoa. This look makes me look like, I feel, like a poodle right now.. I look cute as fuck.. I feel, like men, guys boys all of us. We should be able to do what we want with our hair.. When you have longer hair, it has more option to do crazy things, which can be a pain, but it can also be super fun. People do tell me that I should get rid of my long hair. I’m more about testing boundaries.. I want to rewrite the rules as opposed to following them., So it’s part of my identity. So that’s why I keep it. Short. Hair is cool, but I like having the wind blow through my hair. Honestly.. Do it. Grow it out. It’s, fun. It’s, a new experience. Yeah, try something new. Go for it. I stopped cutting my hair after high school because of an embarrassing experience at the barbershop where my mom made me cut it and I hated my hair leaving high school. I have since then gone through ups and downs and trims but my hair is now healthy and happy and I’m so happy that I’m not alone on this I can wear twists or braids my hair is even long enough to straighten I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and my hair

Vada Schneider: Okay, so one guy said he grows out his hair, but please don't do this. I have donated my hair twice before to different companies, not locks of love. Locks of love is a scam. They have millions of dollars not accounted for and are an overall shady company. They don't make wigs and give them to children with hair loss, but instead sell the hair as extensions for people who already have hair. I would recommend wigs for kids, not to be confused with wigs 4 kids. I don't know about wigs 4 kids, but wigs for kids donates to everyone no matter what age or if the have cancer or alopecia. The only downside is that they require 12 inches, but if you're up for that go right ahead. I won't go into detail about preparation, just look at the website. If you aren't comfortable donating that much hair, which I wasn't my first time donating, do pantene beautiful lengths. They only require 8 inches, but they only give to women with cancer, so no children or men and they don't donate to people for alopecia or any other thing that causes hair loss from my understanding. Just make sure to do your research before donating because hair takes time to grow out.
