How To: Easy Front Bun Updo | Protetctive Style For Natural Hair

Hey Sistas! In this video, I show you how to achieve this really easy and cute faux front bun protective style using the DIY Okra Gel I shared with you a few months ago. I did make some changes to the recipe and process, so please follow the directions in this video for the new and improved gel. Again, this is a vegan holding gel that can also be used to style natural hair in many different ways including Wash and Go’s and Roller Sets. It also does a great job at slicking down those edges! Be sure to store any remaining gel in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Hey I'm going to show you how I achieved his front bun using the okra gel that I shared with you guys a couple of months ago. I did make a few changes to it. This time around, I added a tablespoon of a hobo oil to add some moisture to the jail and I cooked it. The same. I just uh boiled the okra the marshmallow root, let it sit a little bit and this time I used a cheesecloth and I strained it. And then I added in after our strength that I added in the peppermint oil and I didn't experience any flaking or any bad smells or anything like that. Actually, the peppermint oil really really maxis felt the smell of the okra gel and it smelled just like peppermint oil, and it's not really really good. So I'm getting ready to put my hair up into a high bun and this bun is going to sit in the front of my face. So you guys have already seen me umm. I used a little tube to squeeze the okra gel out. It'S just easier! That way and list Messier and I'm just brushing my hair up, my hair is clean and I blow dry to sort of the this process would be a lot easier and now I'm tying my hair off in the front. So um, I'm going to add just a little bit more okay gel just to make sure that any of the extra flyaways will stay down and I'm going to pin down bobby, pin down the back of my hairs that are kind of sticking up, because I guess The back of my hair is a little shorter than the front, I'm more top-heavy and then I'm going to let this sit with my satin wrap for about 1530 minutes. While I do my makeup so you're now getting ready to attach my hairpiece - and this is a Caribbean twist weave, which is a braiding kanekalon, braiding hair, and so I'm going to flip it over over my bun in a attach a ponytail holder and to secure it On top, and then I'm just all, I'm going to do is wrap the hair around towards the front of my head and I'm kind of shaping it as I'm wrapping it mm-hmm, so that I'll make sure that it is sitting towards the front of my head on. My at least on my forehead creating that pomp of the world look so now I'm getting ready to bobby, pin my my bun down, and so I'm gon na be using a bobby pins and hair pins to secure it in place, and you can pretty much just Shape as you go, I did a lot of my shaping and after my bobby pin, and it's really really easy. So that is how I achieved this look. It lasted all day in the next day, so the gel is is legit, don't forget to comment like and share this video if it was any help to you.
