Hi everyone, its Alicia and I am doing a really quick video on my winter, my favorite winter protective hairstyles. I have been getting this question a lot, so let me talk really quick about my regiment during the winter, it's the same as throughout the entire year. There'S nothing, that's really different. I don't do anything different during the winter I live in Houston, Texas and if you're from here you know that one day it's like it can go to down to 50 degrees and then the next day you'll be in shorts. So I really don't change anything in my regimen throughout the year: ongoing protective styling, sometimes I'm wearing my hair out or I'm wearing a watch. It go like I'm wearing right now, um. So I pretty much just do the same things that I do from the entire year or any other season. So now, let's um go through my favorite styles here on YouTube. I'Ve done so many different hairstyles. So what I've done is compiled my favorite ten protective styles. Some styles that are really cute. I have some funky styles, some fun styles, where your ends can be protected. Some of these hairstyles, I'm going to show you I have twist. I have loose hair. I have curly hair. I have blown out hair. You can do these hairstyles any way that you like the hair, bow um updo, it's basically a really cute hair, bow that you can make with your hair, and I saw a really really pretty picture of Paris Hilton with it, and I had to try it um. You can do this with loose hair, you can do it with two strand, twists, really really fun hairstyle. The next style is a really elegant, simple updo, and the beautiful thing about this is that it's it's really nice and you can wear it to somewhere. That'S really really fun or you can just dress it down and make it really nice and casual, and it still gives you this really beautiful clean. Look. I really love this hairstyle. The neck style is the big bun. With my loose two strand twist. You know you can do this with loose hair. I love this bun. I love wearing loose two strand twists, it's a great little manipulation, hairstyle and also the loose twist um. You get a fuller look. Then you give a regular two strand twist. I love this hairstyle. It'S gorgeous here is another hairstyle with my loose twist. This is a nice funky updo. This is actually one of those styles where I was just playing with my hair and trying to see what works and that's a great thing about hair period. You can just have fun with this just play around in the mirror sometimes, and you will come up with some of the hottest hairstyles flat twists up dude. This was actually inspired by drea and she wore this style in the first season of basketball, wives, and it was really really cute on her. I decided to do it with my two strand twist, but you can do it with twists. You can do with loose hair. It'S a gorgeous style that looks really beautiful on her and it's very simple here is a side bun one of my favorite updos I've ever done. It'S a beautiful side, bun that I do in my banana clip. You can call it French twist. It looks very similar. It'S beautiful, bun, French twist is a gorgeous hairstyle that you can do very simple: we've ever banana and a few hair pins. I called this to tuck it in hairstyle um. It almost looks like it's something, that's complex, but it's very simple. It'S a very nice conservative. Look, but I think you can also make it a little fun and casual the Angelina Jolie her Golden Globe, look which was really cute and I decided to see if I can do it. I tried it and it was actually really really pretty. You can do this dress, it up, dress it down. You know I always do hairstyles that I feel like I can wear anywhere. I was all about. You know doing the hairstyle to fit you to fit. Your lifestyle here is one of my go-to hairstyles. It'S a high bun with the banana clip. Now, if you haven't subscribe to me for a long time, you know that the banana clip is like my best friend. I'Ve had the same one for at least two years, and I still have it I sure do you can create so many simple but really beautiful, protective hairstyles with the banana clip. I always get a question where I got mine from. I think it was like CVS or Walgreens. It'S a thick banana clip, it's not the little plastic flimsy ones or I probably would not be able to get my hair into it. Alright and my final one is the sort of messy bun. Now, when I uploaded this video, I uploaded it as a messy bun, because I didn't use a brush. I didn't really try to clean it up. I just kind of threw it up in a ponytail through some pins in it, so I just called it a messy bun, but you know it does still have a neat look to it. Each video that I went over you can click on that video to watch the complete demo of how I do that hairstyle. Thank you. So much for watching any questions leave them down below love. You guys bye,

Alicia James: For my two strand twist, I usually wrap it around my head to keep them stretched out. Sometimes I put them into braids which gives them waves. I've used the bunning method, and sometimes I just use the pineapple method. :) ❤

Alicia James: Make sense I will remember that next time! Thanks for the tip! You can also click on the videos if you want to see them up close with the full demo or click links in the description box for each hairstyle you would like to see. Thanks so much for watching! :)

karma centrik: I love every single one of these lovely natural styles!!!!!! Thank you so much...I''ve been doing nothing but plain high buns for way too long. I'm 2 years natural and ready to play....gotta get me a banana clip!!!! :)

Alicia James: Thank you so much!!! That means so much to me! I really appreciate you passing that on to me! Makes what I do worth it! :)

BloominLotus85: This is great! Thank you so much for putting together your 10 styles! You should start naming them!

Alicia James: Usually I apply every 2-3 days, but I've been doing wash and gos lately, so I have been wetting my hair daily. I normally just spritz the ends of my hair and seal with my extra virgin olive oil or my Giovanni Leave In. :)

Naty: you're like the queen of protective styling :) thanks for the vids

Alicia James: Thank you very much! :) You can click on each video to see the full demo and close up of each hairstyle or see links to the videos in the description box. :)

Alicia James: Thank you very much! I am really happy you like the hairstyles! :) ❤

slimtasty24: I just go out and get a nice natural wig (that resembles my own hair) to wear when I go out. thats my protective  method lol

Dajah Gilmer: The way she says jewelry "jury" Love it !

Alicia James: No problemo! Thank you for watching! :) Yes, I am a Houstonian! We will work on some little girl hairstyles. :)

Alicia James: Thank you for watching! I am super excited too! I can hardly wait! :)

Alicia James: I remember those days! You will be able to do them before you know it! :) Thanks for watching! :)

MsCamilleB: hey alicia, thanks soooo much forr this. I live in Canada, and it's starting to get colder so your vid couldn't have come ata better time! I'm just wondering, what is a loose twist vs two strand twist?

Hello_therrre: Thank you soo much for answering, your videos and information have helped me sooo much with my hair and your a joy to watch! p.S excited for your flat iron video :) lol

RazzyYazzy: Love the hair. Man, that is some mad shrinkage! Isn't it wonderful, we can stretch out to waist length one day, and curl up to shoulder length the next. Thanks for the protective style tips.

Alicia James: It is totally normal to see more shedding during transition. Where the relaxed and natural hair meet breaks really easily. Keep the hair moisturized and clean. Deep conditioning/hot oil treatment are great. Low manipulation styling is key. Be careful during combing and detangling. Most important, minimal to no heat. Good luck on your journey and I hope some of this info helps you along the way! :)

soultressbeauty: My hair is not long enough for these styles Alicia!...lol anyway you did a great job on this video as always! Stay blessed!!

Eboni Berry: I can totally do some of these styles thanks so much! && I'm from Houston too && I agree , the weather out here is like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get lol!

Alicia James: Ha Ha! Glad someone understands! This is a wash and go. I used Giovanni Leave In and Eco Styler Clear. Thanks for watching! ❤

Alicia James: It's like doing regular two strand twist, but twisting loosely. :)

Alicia James: This all depends on your hair. Some people can go a full month without washing or wetting their hair. Some people wash weekly, some daily, some 2 times during the week. Pay attention to your hair. If your hair stays nice and moisturized throughout the week, I think once a week is great. The hair stays clean, properly moisturized, and you're able to maintain a low manipulation regimen. :)

Alicia James: I would be careful to not go too small. Also be very careful during take down. Start from the ends of the hair and then unravel going up. After the twist is unraveled, finger detangle the strands, because sometimes that hair gets stuck together after the hair has been twisted for so long. Also make sure to apply oil to your twist as part of maintenance. You do not want the hair to get too dry or it will matted together making take down harder and causing the hair to wrap around itself. :)

MrsKinkyKrisp: i love the styles ... my hair isnt this long, yet. but the styles look great on u. my hair is about 4inch now. so im still in the TWA stage of protective styles

Alicia James: It will be before you know it! I appreciate you for watching and commenting :)

Alicia James: Thank you! One of my favorite! :)

Alicia James: Yes, and you only have to take it down as often as you need to moisturize. It depends on your hair. Maybe every 3 days if that. :)

AmazingSuccess: Thank you! I probably need to pay more attention and keep that area oiled a little more. I'll definitely try the Tea Tree Oil! Thanks again :)

ele38ful: Beautiful! You are really creative.

Tinesha Dana: Your wash and go is beautiful!

Peaches100: The side bun is Very pretty!

Alicia James: Oh no no no ...not near perfect! I really appreciate you for watching! :)

Alicia James: Thank you very much! :)

AmazingSuccess: I'm having breakage with my natural hair around the crown. I've always had a problem there when I had the relaxer but after going natural, It started to grow out more. I wonder if I am doing too much with my hair. I love my buns, but I don't wear them that often. That area also itches a lot and I keep olive oil on the scalp, but it's still itchy. What do you suggest? Thanks

tequilashots875: The side bun is gorgeous. I need to grow longer bangs to do it though. :-(

Alicia James: Thank yoouuu! Usually I use Great Value, but I'm not married to a particular brand. I just pick up 100% extra virgin olive oil. :)

Alicia James: LOL! I've always been like that! Let me know how the hairstyle goes for you! I would loe to see photos! :) ❤

marquita83: cool video!! Love the hairstyles I will def use one of them when my hair gets longer, I love your music as well, I will def get it from itunes or buy the cd, I like to support! :)

Alicia James: Crazy right!!?! Thanks for watching! :)

Alicia James: ha haaa! I don't usually switch around my products that often, so I am not sure if I will ever bring it back, but I still enjoyed my experience with it. So glad it is working for you. That is what it is all about. :)

Tata_inc: I stopped getting relaxers in Sept 2009, have worn sew ins until about 2 months ago. I am just wearing my hair natural. I am NOT used to myself like this. I am very uncomfortable. I appreciate the tips here

Unique BrèShay: Thanks! :)

CoilsKinksCurls: Love your hair

Alicia James: Aaaaaw Thanks! :)

OrganicBeauty: do you have any videos on wash n go's? if not can you do an updated video on one please.?

Alicia James: That could mean a number of things. Do you shampoo the hair? How often are you cleaning the scalp? Have you tried Tea Tree oil. I just got into using it thanks to my husband and my scalp is loving it. The texture in my crown area is a bit more dry than the rest of my hair, so I usually have to pay that area a little more attention during wash and deep conditioning time. Hopefully some of this info points you in the right direction.

Juan: Can you make this available on mobile, please?
