Hey guys, Kayley here. Today we're doing a tutorial that goes through three days in the life of my hair.. I call it a clean-to-dirty hair tutorial where we go from day, one where my hair is fresh washed to day three, where my hair is 90 % dry. Shampoo. You guys actually requested that I bring this back, so it's here and I'm doing the holiday version ,'cause. It'S that time of year., I'm gon na be talking about products, tools, techniques, all the things. So, let's jump into it. Before I start the voice over. I want to start by going over, what's already on my hair, slash what I'm gon na be using, so I don't have to like hold and mime the whole time. Living Proof Restore instant perfecting spray. As my leave-in conditioner. Kenra Whip Grip mousse. As one of my favorite new volumizing mousses. Going to be using the Ouai Memory Mist as my heat protectant spray., I have a review on this. It'S amazing. For my curling iron. Today I have the T3 convertible base with the polished, curls attachment.. This is a one-and-a-quarter-inch attachment with a clip.. They have a bunch of different barrels that you can mix and match to create your own curl set, including one that is a size bigger. It'S called the voluminous curls and that would be great for a looser wave or they have the defined curls, which is a one-inch barrel, and that would be good if your hair is a little harder to curl. And with that being said, it is time to curl. Start by creating a side part and then on the side where you have the most hair begin: curling the hair away from your face. And after each curl wrap it back up into a donut shape and clip it place with a wave clip.. This helps the curls to be even more robust. Continue, curling, all the hair. Next to your part, and then once you've got all that done, you can go down to the next level of hair. And then you just keep curling away from the face.. I really like this T3 iron because it has single pass technology, which basically means that it has super even heat, and you only have to run your hair through it once to get the desired effect. And once the first side is cool, you can move on to The second side and curl this side toward your face. And now to let that second side cool in place, we're gon na move on and brush out the first side., I'm just taking a detangling brush and brushing it through the curls, and they should. At this point, open up and become a wave. And then to set it, I'm using some hair spray and spraying the first little valley in the hair and then using the hair spray can to shape the hair into place.. Then I'm gon na do the same thing. A little further down. Now I'm gon na let down the second side and brush it through and spray it as well.. Now, at this point, you could choose to stop here. It does look beautiful, as-is and very old Hollywood starlet, but I'm actually gon na bring everything over to one side and then I'm going to use some pearl bobby pins along the nape of my neck to hold my hair in place and add a little bit more Glam to this style. And that's it for these smooth defined waves.. I love that they are glamorous and timeless, and I love that extra little bit of touch from the pearls. Bonus round. Here'S how to adjust it for short hair.. First thing's. First, keep those curls, nice and close to the scalp. You can't really go as far away as you can with long hair. Next for those little baby hairs at the nape of your neck, either don't curl them or just get as much of a bend as you can.. And finally, if your curls flip up at the ends, you can actually brush them around your hand, to kind of mold them into place. And for the pearls. I arranged them just behind the ear instead of at the nape of the neck, and that is it for this style. And now day, number two.. So last night I put my hair into a loose bun on top of my head before I sent to sleep. This morning. I woke up with this little escape artist, so we're gon na see how these curls held up. Everything looks pretty good., Like the ridge is still there, that's impressive., But I am gon na change it up because I want to - and there are a few areas that Are a little on the straighter side., So I popped on the cascading waves attachment. This is the newest one.. It goes from like a tighter curl to a looser curl.. It'S a very like everyday kind of situation., Mostly gon, na target kind of the straighter pieces that need a little more life.. This is definitely a second-day hair hack.. If you have the curls and they're like 75 % there from yesterday, you just kind of amp up that 25 % and it looks freshly curled. And after about six or seven curls, I have this perfect lived-in wave.. I am obsessed with this effect. And now let's build a hairstyle. You're gon na start with the right side and take a large section from the front, sweep it back and pin it in the back of your head., Then, on the left side, take a similar section, Sweep it back and then use a wave clip or a claw clip to hold it on top, instead of bobby pinning it because now we're gon na decorate., I'm grabbing these pearl bobby pins from yesterday, and I'm just going to scatter them over the top of the Hair. And as you do that those bobby pins are also holding the style in place., But you can add in a normal bobby pin or two. If you want to., Then just take our your clip and this hairstyle is done.. I got a lot of requests for this after my holiday hair accessories video. So obviously I wanted to show you guys how you can do it. It's beautiful, effortless and glam And then for short hair. There'S literally no change for this one, but I wanted to show you how it would look if your hair is a little on the shorter side. And welcome to day three.. My hair and my waves have held up surprisingly well, but I am gon na add in some more dry shampoo to my roots, because it's necessary. And I'm gon na go back to my cascading waves attachment to get those really loose. Lived-In. Looking curls right around my face. Because I wanted to live my extra life. I grabbed a couple clips of extensions and I put them in diagonally right behind where I was going to be putting my side braid.. Now, I'm grabbing a long section of hair and braiding. It all the way down and securing it at the end with an elastic. And finally, I'm gon na create one big side braid and I'm going to put the braid we just made in one of the three sections and then braid all the way down. And once you get toward the end, secure it with an elastic and then obviously pull it apart for some extra drama. And, of course, don't forget to let out those little pieces around your face. And finally, I'm adding this velvet elastic with a little pearl on it. To the end of my braid, just because I really wanted to. And there you go the most glam third day hair you have ever seen.. I love a good side braid and I feel like this one with the extra little braid in it and the extra pieces around the face and the elastic is just perfect. And then for the short hair. I just kind of went a different direction and did just this little nubbin ponytail, because I think it creates the same spirit as a side braid and with that added elastic, it's still pretty glam.
