Hello, my name is Michele Brown, I'm a freelance hair and makeup artist for TV, film and print and special events, and today we're doing updos for strapless dresses and we're here at the Brigitte salon in Woodland Hills. So let's get started, I'm going to go ahead and do a half up updo on my model today and we're just gon na give some body to the crown area - and this is very easy to do so - we're just going to go ahead, smooth that out and We'Re gon na go ahead and pin this area and now we're just going to bring all this to the side and we're going to go ahead and secure that with a hairpin, and you want to bring the hairpin in that direction. So it isn't show we're gon na. Do the same thing add one more just to get a really good hold and that's how it should look. It should look just like that and now we're going to split two sections of hair in the bottom of the nape area and we're going to bring this section of hair and we're just going to pin that up and add one more pin and we're gon na Crisscross that so we can have a really good hold. Okay, so should basically look like this. So now, what we're gon na do is we're just going to go ahead and make a very loose circular, bun, okay, and you want to bring that a little high so that you can cover the other hair pins that are there and we're just going to go Ahead and secure that - and you want to always go underneath so the hair pins don't show so here you have fabulous half-up updo, and this is how it works. Once again, I'm Michelle Brown - and I just showed you how to do a half up, updo or strapless dresses.
