I promised to upload some more short hairstyles, and here is an easy one. About a month ago I uploaded a single version of this twist on myself, but here I show how to do a double on my #4 daughter with short hair. With longer hair, you can finish this off into a side ponytail, bun, of fun braids. It is all up to you!

-So we're going to film this morning a great shorty do.. Everyone loves the short hairstyles that are popular right now., But there's always a dilemma on what to do that makes them fun.. So we're going to do one. This morning, I'm going to do one called double French twistbacks., Hey. -Hi. -And you start it by I've just started by parting, her hair on the left. Tip this way a little bit.. You can part it on either side as normal., And then I have just taken a part. Just a small section of hair on the front. And I've just put a little clippy in to hold the rest of her hair. Back. Turn your head this way for me.. Now, to start, I'm going to just pick up a little section of the front part I have. And you're, going to divide it into two., I'm going to grab a water really quick.. She has fine hair that --, I'm going to just dampen it just a little bit.. You divide it into two pieces. And I always twist towards the back of the head., So we're going to start a twist. Now. What makes this a French twist is that on the front piece, we're just going to add a little hair in. So pick up a little hair and then add it in and twist it. Again pick up a little hair.. Add it to that front. Piece. And twist it back., It's very easy.. You don't have to pick up hair on the back. And we're just going to continue until we run out of hair. And then we're going to just twist it down a little ways. You'll have to forgive my --. I have a cold this morning, so I feel like I'm, really [ SNIFFING ] sniffy. Here. Will you hold this sweetie Thanks. OK.? Now I'm going to do two sections.! So again, I'm just going to come in here section off a little more hair.. You don't want it to big or makes the twist way to big. And when I'm happy with the part, I'm just going to secure all this back out of the way. So again you're going to start up here.. Let me just spritz the top again. Section it off into two pieces. Tip your head. This way honey. And begin twisting. Pick up some. Twist. It in. Pick up some more. And it in. Pick up. Some more. Add it in until you're at about the same place that you stopped on the last twist., I'm going to do one more right, there. And then finish it off again by twisting it down.. So this hairdo is really one that you can use on any type of hair. If you have longer hair at this point, I would pull it back into a cute messy bun or a cute side. Braid.. I'Ve done both on my girls. And I'll. Try to stick pictures up of --. I know I have one with a messy bun. That'S really cute., But if you have short hair like her, I'm going to take just a clear elastic and rubber band. The two ends together just to add a little extra security on those twists., And then you can lay it flat like this and pin it or pull up a little hair and pin it.. So you take your bobby pins and bobby, pin it., Remember to cross your bobbies. And then lay her hair down over the top and try to hide the bobby pins as best you can., And there you go., You have cute little twists.. That was a little too much hair. There., So you can still see the twists a little bit., OK. And you're good to go., Say bye. -Bye

I wanted to give you a quick tip on bobbi-pins: When you need to secure hair tied with elastics, push the bobbi-pin through one band of the elastic to pin the strand in place. That way you aren't spreading the prongs of the bobbi-pin so wide that they stick up. Also, the elastic keeps the bobbi-pin secure so you don't have to criss-cross with another pin!
Helen Fletcher: Anyone who has ever had their hair braided or twisted should know that it pulls you head around and occasionally hurts. It's not torture, it's the nature of the styles. A little discomfort doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. I loved getting my hair done when I was little even though it pulled. This lady looks pretty gentle as far as rough braiding goes! Super cute style and an adorable child!!
