My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Enjoy browsing!

Love,

Lucy

Hey guys welcome to a new video today, I'm going to show you three different low, bums shin-young's that are really sleek very chic, perfect for formal occasions or just whatever you feel like wearing something. That'S, maybe a little bit more fancy. So let's get started straight away. I'M going to start by pulling back my hair into a low ponytail, I'm going to comb my hair. Well, I do this to make sure that everything is nice and sleek and smooth no stray messy hairs for this one. When I have that I'm going to take my trusty old sock donut, you can of course use a more traditional hair donut for this. I have been using my rolled-up sock here for years and it works just fine as well so use whatever you prefer, but I'm going to pin that down to the hair. Next to my scalp and I'm going to take the ponytail, I'm going to split this into two and do a quick, little rope braid. So, in order to do this, I'm going to be twisting both sections in the same direction and then twisting them around each other. In the opposite direction, all the way down the length of my hair, then I'll tie this on with a little hair elastic and go back to this braid and start fluffing it up. I am going to make this big and fluffy by tugging at the sides of this rope, braid to make sure it's nice and luminous, because we need a lot of hair to cover up this donut, which is gon na, be the next step. I'M going to twist. This rope braid around and over the donuts into a big voluminous bun, and this is a great tip if your hair is on the thinner side or maybe a little bit shorter, and you still want to have a big voluminous button. You can use a donut like this to bulk out the hair, so I'm using loads of oil pins all around to make sure this is nice and secure fluffing up the braid more as needed, and I'm going to tuck the ends underneath the donut to make sure That they are safely hidden away and there is the first button all finished for the second style. I'M gon na do my ponytail a little bit higher. So it's going to be just below the center of my head in the back. What I have tied it, I'm going to take my hand and I'm going to loop this, because this bun is going to be more of a chignon, so the hair is going to be folded and not necessarily twist it. So when I have my half loop kind of I'm going to secure this with a bunch of bobby pins to make sure that it is not going anywhere so then I'm gon na fold the hair down again over those boy pins that I just inserted and I'm Gon na stick in a few more to secure my ends and the very ends of my hair again going to tuck, underneath this chignon to make sure that they aren't visible. There is the second style super elegant and so much easier to do than you think for a third style. I am going to brush my hair into a low ponytail again, and this is going to be another half bun half chignon. So I'm going to pick up that hair elastic or one of the loops that I made and pull it over the ponytail. It'S just a little bit so that I get this little button. I guess of hair and then I'm gon na take the rest of the hair and loosely wrap it around. The hair elastic, pin that down with bobby pins, make sure it's nice and secure, and then I'm going to fan out that little button so that it forms this kind of half circle shape. And I am again going to secure this with bobby pins to make sure that the shape actually holds now. The best way to make sure this is secure is to insert the bobby pins on the lower part of the bottle. So the part that is already against the scalp, if you slide them in following the direction of the bun, that is going to be the most secure way to pin away this button. But that gives you a end result that looks a little something like this. So those were the three hairstyles that I wanted to share with you today guys.
