Hey guys welcome back to my channel today, i want to share with you a very easy foolproof way to achieve the classic French twist. I think this hairstyle is so timeless and beautiful. It'S perfect for any special occasion. I know some of you have prom and graduation coming up and I always think that it would be perfect for a wedding as well, but i'm going to show you my tips to achieve it. So, let's get started. If you didn't already know, the French twist involves a lot of Bobby pinning, so you will need quite a few bobby pins on hand. The longer your hair, the more pins you will need it's a help. You need everything it's smooth and in order i'd recommend having a comb on hand, but it's not necessary feel free to part your hair as normal, but parting, her hair on this side, i think, will really work best for this hairstyle and we're going to do is Just brush all of your hair back making sure it's free of any knots or tangles so that we're left with a really nice smooth finish. Then you just want to gather all of your hair as a back of your neck, nice and low, making sure that you're grabbing all of those little baby neck hairs as well, is going to give you a more polished finish, and you just want to make sure That everything is nice and tight and smooth then grab the base of your ponytail with your one hand, and you just want to begin twisting the base in a clockwise motion, keeping everything nice and tight once you start twisting it direct your ponytail upwards and you'll notice. The twist of the French twist just forms on its own. Now, once the twist has formed, if you have excess hair left out of the top like I do, then what you'll want to do is secure the top of your French twist to your head to help hold everything into place. I used about six bobby pins and you want to make sure that you're inserting them on angles to create X's, which will help keep everything nice and secure if you have short hair, I'm jealous because you're done at this point. But if you have excess hair is sticking out the top like i do, then. What you want to do is twist this remaining hair and we're going to tuck it underneath the twist that we created. This is definitely a little trickier. The longer your hair, so you'll have to work a little bit harder to tuck it all in, but there is a pocket there and I promise. If you are persistent, you can do it. My biggest tip for getting all of your hair into the pocket is take your time. It'S quite tight in there. So just use your fingertips to really work that hair into the pocket and you'll find that it starts going in really easy if your ends become untwisted. Just twist them back up again, I find that this also makes it easier to tuck your hair in and just make sure that you are getting all of those ends in there too. You don't want any poking out once the hair is tucked in. It should all feel nice and secure, but I highly suggest Bobby pinning the underside of the twist to your head. I used about five bobby pins, inserting them vertically, as well as in an X at the base of my twist, just really hold everything in place. When you're Bobby pinning your hair, you want to try your best to keep them hidden, but if some of them are showing - and you do want to cover them up, what you can do is grab at the side of the French twist and gently pull it over. The bobby pins and then secure vertically with a bobby pin into place - and you just want to repeat this all the way up the French twist, and this will hide all of your bobby pins and then for the front. I'M just going to take the end of a comb and kind of slide. It underneath and just gently pull up these sections just to loosen them up a little bit and not make it so pinned to my head. So there you have you guys. That is how you create this beautiful and classic French twist hairstyle. I'Ve always thought that the French twist was so timeless and classic. I just think that it's perfect for any special occasion, you guys will have to comment down below and let me know if you're looking forward to any special events this summer, I'd love to know if you are graduating, maybe you're going to prom for the first time Or maybe I know there's some of you that are getting married, so comment down below I'd, love to hear and maybe you're like me, and you don't have any big celebrations of summer and you're always celebrating your friends who are getting there having babies and graduating. So if you are like me, don't forget to celebrate yourself, go out for dinner and have an event or have a party it's just because, but thank you guys so much for watching. I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you did don't forget, give it a thumbs up and I'll talk to you guys soon or on Twitter Instagram and, of course, in the comments below so

I would come in everyday! Plus I tried this hair and went to the library...My boyfriend was there...And He KISSED ME! I know it's personal but I trust you.And HAPPY EASTER!! HOPE YOU GET A LOT OF CANDY!!! You have inspired me to make my own YouTube channel but.... I'm a gamer type of girl.I have a channel but no one even notices it because of the name Maya Florida Nerd Girl, if you look that up i only have 5 subs ;-; But at least you encouraged me...That's all the matters...That is what a youtuber is supposed to be, a person that encourages people to try new things...not do random challenges and that will encourage people to do stupid things...Thank you for being yourself,Being a ro-model, a person that encourages people. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I LOVE YOU! All ways remember that even in your grave.

Jo H: Hi Alex. Your tutorial is foolproof. I've never put my hair up like this before, and I have to wear a fascinator as I'm going to a garden party at Buckingham Palace this week, and I am really worried about my hair coming loose as it's really fine and slippy. But this is perfect, it's easy to do and really robust, and it looks amazing.

I've tried them before but always struggled because I didn't really know how to do it, and my hair is longer than most people's (not as long as yours though) and it was so helpful to see what to do AFTER the twist is made. Every other tutorial I've seen was with much shorter hair. I can't wait to try this out on myself! God bless!

L. B. Smith: Perfect! Thank you!

Tracy Hayes: When my hair was long I did this almost every day. It held up well all day long. I used beaded, decorative hair sticks to secure my hair. Or sometimes a crochet hook....LOL

June Alley: I love this hairstyle. My mother always wore her hair this way when she worked in an office environment. I have been trying to get my hair to do this, but it is long and I've always struggled with it. Now, with this video, and my Pintwist, I hope to achieve this style. If you haven't heard of Pintwist, Google it. It is literally a giant bobby pin. They come in 2 different sizes, and you only need one pin to hold the entire twist. You can run, dance do whatever, and your twist will stay. There are YouTube videos about Pintwist. Amazon sells them, but the best price is currently on QVC. They sell 4 Pintwists ( 2 Large & 2 Small) for the price of one on Amazon. Thank you for this French Twist tutorial!

Emily Birge: First and foremost, I am using your videos almost daily to help me with my complete inability to do my own hair, so a big thank you for breaking it down in Crayola for gals like me. Ok, I have to know. #1) what color is that shirt? I used to have a sweater in the same color and it's been driving me crazy. I love it, and I need more if that color in my life. #2) would you mind sharing the brand of your shirt? It's gorgeous!

A Warnke: I used to do my French Twist from a high ponytail rolling down as a book taught me. however my hair got too long when I was growing it out and I could not longer keep it all it in. I'll have to try it your way from the bottom up. Thank you.

Алла Негай: очень красиво покрашены волосы!!!

Laura Bianchi: you're amazing Alex! this is so classy...

Monyas: A tip from someone with waist length hair. Instead of twisting from the nape of the neck, start lower at mid-length then use two fingers to twist the upper half and lower half upon itself, then pin it up as usual. Since you got the lower half into the twist you totally skip the 'tugging in' step. Doesn't work for short hair funny enough: long hair solutions for long hair problems lol

Miggins 200: Love this hair style

Bridget Smith: Wow,wish I could do that with mine, your hair is so long and pretty guess I'll have to practice putting mine up

EFL AsiaPacific: you look absolutely beautiful!

Nicole Fischer: Gorgeous! my hair is so long like yours.

Mommy melo Family: I like the way you explain I really understand step by step thank you so much I m gonna try this one ..

Kelly Brinegar: beautiful! Thanks!

Gadol Adonai: You are extremely beautiful and that is a very elegant French twist

Medisiana S: The most acurate video of making a french twist,! Finally

Kristi Gibson-Cormier: Hope you had a fab Easter Alex!!! I took my granddaughter to see Beauty and the Beast. it was awesome. I am going to Ulta today or wednesday.. I will do a haul video depending on what I get.. xoxo

Cindy Le: Could you do some ponytail hairstyles for prom???❤️

Jean Keats: Absolutely wonderful! You should be celebrating you!

KüinMakeUp: Your haircolour is so beautiful!

Barbara Gray: I dearly love your French twist....Thank you soooo much.....this is my first time to see your video....

brinda pillei: hey AlexGaubory my prom for my seniors is in about 2 weeks, and im the MC. i was thinking to go for something simple so i cecided to do a french roll. any other hairstyles you suggest for slightly longer shoulder length hair????

Laura Billow: A little tip to help with volume on top, take the hair on top and tease like you would for a normal bump then twist it and pin down adding or taking away as much volume as you please then make the French twist as in the video

Karin Haubruck: hmm, I can't get my hair to hold. my hair is very heavy. Can you explain or show a little closer where to place the pins on the top after the first twisting? Thank you, and thanks for the tutorial in the first place. Please make more, maybe for the 50th 60th style as seen in Mad Men?

Ilike Mango: I have long hair.... so, I am really happy to watch you video, showing how to deal with those long hair at the end.... my arms are tired after trying few times! But I will try again and again, thank you!

Have a magical day: You are so pretty and your hair looks so healty, my hair had always been coarse, dry and a little wavy so moisturising it has always been something I have had to do ahah I use aussie deep conditioner once a week, pantene shampoo and conditioner ( normally, for dry or damaged hair ) and as a toner conditioner I use sexy hair conditioner because it makes my hair really smooth and it doesn't contain any silicones. I used to use a shampoo by sexyhair that was all natural and it was really moisturising, it cleansed my hair pretty well and left it soft ( it was really mild so it didn't take all of the natural oils away but enough so it didn't look greasy ), I would rather use that than pantene tbh but it is cheap and works for my hair at the moment to smooth it, silicones isn't the best thing to put in our hair constantly but atleast protects the hair from any further damage and keeps it shiny and so on. There isn't any special occations here but when I was in high school I made a hairstyle a little like that except I left out a little in the front and curled it. I want to straighten or curl my hair soon but I want to get in a really good condition before I start using heat, and also buy argan oil and a new heat protectant. It is actually 5am now where I live but I can't really sleep ( that's what that happens when you drink coffee too late ). But anyways, love your videos❤️ I feel like I explained my whole life story in a comment right now

Reyna CM: I use this hair style forma work :)

Rara Avis: Ah, it looks so easy and yet I know it'll somehow never look like that when I try it.....

ForeverSunny: I'm doing this for a job interview!! :D

magiccastle 19: so pretty and easy

Sekar Asri: That looks so easy

Kit Hill: can you braid the side sections first, then pancake them out, and then put it all into ponytail twist --> french roll?

Aneeqa Fatima: I love your videos because i too have long hairs like you..so i find your videos easy much love from India

Blake Devorak Ch.: finally for actual long hair (cause mine is 3ft long) and all the other tutorial girls claiming they have long hair have medium length hair that makes it impossible to do what they do because they don't end up with a long tail out the side of the twist like I do. sorry for the mini rant.

Leo19rash: Summer wedding guest hair style please

A Little Wheiser: I am in LOVE with your hair color.
