Hey everyone., I'm Mindy from Cute Girls Hairstyles. And today we are going to test TikTok hair hacks., I'm sure you guys have seen a gazillion hair hacks going around. In 15 seconds. They show you these hacks, that look amazing., But today we're gon na see if they actually work when you put them to the test.. If you have not already subscribed to our channel be sure to click the button right here and let's start testing. ( upbeat, music, ), Okay, so the first TikTok we are testing is basically creating a braid without an elastic.. So you start by picking up a section of hair and then you do a regular braid and on the TikTok they said, don't untangle it as you braid.. So once you start braiding like see it's such habit for me to untangle it. It'S gon na be really hard, not to.. We'Re gon na not untangle those ends'cause they're kind of intertwining on each other, as we go. Such a habit for me to untangle it., Don't do it., Don't do it guys. And it's naturally just kind of braiding itself. I guess at the bottom. Creating a little hole. And when you get to where you can't twist the strands any further than it said to just take it and flip it inside itself through one of the holes and then tug down., Did it work Pancake it a Little bit make it a little more boho. And ta-da. I definitely think it would stay in.. The question is: is it gon na be hard to get out? I know we start at the bottom. See if the untangles. It definitely is a little more tangle-y than normal. At the bottom, but just right at the end. And once you get to the middle part, no problem., So I would say thumbs up. ( bell: dings ) Worked on that one. ( upbeat, music, ), Okay, the second TikTok we're gon na try is a faux braid.. So it's for people that don't know how to braid. You can do this technique and supposedly create a braid.. Now she uses an elastic scoops it to the side right here and puts an elastic in, but I feel like that. Kinda leaves you with a little more chunky, ponytail braid., So I'm not going to use the elastic but exact same technique., So she divides the hair in two and then the piece that you're holding your hair in you take your two fingers like this: basically poke them Through the middle and grab that other strand underneath., So you just switch places. Same thing.. Stick your fingers through pull the hair switch places., And then you just keep repeating this motion all the way down your hair until you supposedly have a break or something that looks like a break., We're gon na see what it looks like., I don't have a mirror. So I'm doing this just by feel. Also, my hair is really layered. So if you had longer hair or hair that wasn't layered, it might work better than what I'm doing on mine. And then at the end, put an elastic and pull it apart. A little. And supposedly you have something that looks like a braid.. Did it work? What do you guys think Thumbs up thumbs down? I haven't looked in the mirror yet so leave a comment and tell me if you think this worked, and would you wear it If you were somebody that couldn't braid ever, would you still do this and feel good about it? ( upbeat music ), The third TikTok we're gon na try is the elastic-less ponytail, which I had to watch this one a couple times to even figure out what she was doing. And I think I've got it. But let's try it., So she pulls it back and then pulls a piece of hair out.. I don't know why you would do this'cause you're just going to end up with wonky.. Then she twists it. Nope, it's already too loose. ( groans ). Let'S try it again.! ( broadcast signal ) I'm trying to get a piece out without pulling everything else around it.. Then she twisted it and then put her hands through it like it was an elastic and pulls her hair, through. ( grunts ), But then she twists it again.. She twisted it three times. That girl must have had long hair. Twisted it.. I can't even get it around.. So if I left it like this, it would fall. Out.. Okay, I got ta figure out how to get it twisted twice., Let's try again. Also. I just feel like I'm making knots in my hair. ( broadcast signal ). So take it twist it. But see I ( groans, ), Okay, try it again. ( broadcast signal ), I just don't know.. Why would you do this? That'S the better question.! This is very cheap.: Okay, pull a hair., I'm gon na pull her hair up here. Farther.! Take it I'd, give it a twist.. So now, I'm about to twist it. Go through., (, slaps, thighs, ), Okay, one more time and then I'm gon na call it. ( broadcast signal. ) Twist. Pull your hair through.. Let'S see if we can loosen it up a little bit. Twist it again and pull the hair through one more time.. No way can I get three. Okay check that out.. So, yes, it's technically holding my hair.. No, it's not holding it very securely. And also who would wear this. Can you see this? Why I'm giving this TikTok ( buzzer buzzes ) a thumbs down.'Cause? I just think realistically, somebody's gon na have a hair elastic.. I think it's possible to get it to hold your hair, but I just don't think it's a realistic option.. So for me it's not a hair hack. If it's not easier. ( upbeat music, ), Okay, TikTok number four is static and how to get rid of hair static.. So my hair isn't staticky today, which means enter the balloon. And we're gon na try to ( balloon buzzes ) give my hair static.. Is it working Whoa whoa who ( record scratches ) Whoa whoa Okay., We good So now that my hair has static it's getting rid of static., And I actually, I personally know this one works'cause. I use this one I have in the past., But if you take a dryer sheet and then this way you smell good too. And you wipe it down on your hair.. Don'T ask me if this is healthy for your hair, I'm just saying it works. And you go like this and voila no more static.. I also use this on my clothing.. If your skirts are super staticky, you can run it over your skirt too.. So yes, hair static, ( bell, dings ), dryer sheets., Then you just smell, like you're, fresh out of the laundry. ( upbeat music, ), Okay, for our last one. We are going to test a video where you use a claw clip like this, and you run it just down the center, and it's supposed to give you this, like amazing, half up. In the videos they take it and they basically get this bottom point right on The front of their hair and they kinda scoop it like this., (, groans, ), Scoop it and then just kind of let it grab the hair.. I don't know., I feel like it's messy. ( broadcast signal. ) Clip open it up. Wide. ( broadcast signal. ) Pull some front pieces out.. Does it still just look like a mess? I kinda feel like it just still looks like a mess., And why would you do this? I mean I know I'm going blind cause. I don't have a mirror, but why would you do this as opposed to just ...? You know like ..., I don't no. To me. Hacks have to make sense.. This does not make sense.. What am I doing wrong? Tell me in the comments below what am I doing wrong. Okay, we're gon na try a different clip and see if it was the clip or the width it opens or ... (, sighs ). I feel like that. One was even worse guys.. I feel like that. One grabbed a even smaller piece of hair. Y'all this. What Does anybody think this looks good? Why ( buzzer buzzes )? I don't get it., I'm giving it a thumbs down.. I just don't think it's that cute and I think it's ineffective, because a hack is supposed to be faster and easier and I don't think this was faster or easier or cuter.. Am I doing something wrong? If you guys know the secret tell me. Okay guys, so in summary, I think we tried five and three of them, I would have said, actually worked and made sense, which is still pretty good. I think. So our I don't want to know it. I don't. I can't do the math., I don't know, I don't know what the percentage of that is. Three fifths.. Three fifths of them did great.. So I am kind of surprised'cause, I think a lot of times they the way they shoot the angles or the way that they sneak the shots, make it look like it was really easy and fast and quick when in reality it was like a bomb. Three out Of five is pretty good.. That'S all I'm saying. Three out of five. Send me some more TikTok hacks that I should test and see if they actually work.. If you guys haven't already subscribed to the channel, you can do it by clicking here.. Don'T forget to check out our other videos by clicking over here and we'll see you guys next time. Bye, guys., ( upbeat music continues. )

Lilly L.: The braid without an elastic is cool. - I'm exactly that person who never has an elastic (not sure I own one right now, think I might have lost my last one) ... So that hack could be really useful. I don't think I would try any of the others, though.

Ava Trutt: For anyone wondering 60% of the hacks worked!

Karen Laidman: I tried the elastic less pony tail and gave up after the first time. My hair is too short.

Jo Neil: Makes me wanna finally grow my hair out

Kristi: I do a pony tail with no hairtie style. Basically, I take all my hair and twist it around until you get a "funnel" then I make a bun with the twisted hair (wrapping it around itself like a donut) then taking the end and sticking it through the bun. Hope that made sense but it keeps my hair back and no hair tie!

Michal Streltsov: Love these hacks so much!!!

HiBeena: Brooklyn looks cute in this one
