I am so excited to share today’s hair tutorial which is an easy knotted braid updo. I wanted to share this particular hairstyle because it can be recreated on medium length to long hair. This updo is surprisingly simple and absolutely perfect for a casual night out, a wedding hairstyle or for any special event this summer.

Everyone welcome back today's braided updo was inspired by a picture that I came across on Instagram. I thought this hairstyle was so unique and beautiful. I knew right away that I wanted to try and recreate it, so I could share it with all of you. I love how versatile this hairstyle is like you could wear this to a fancy event. You could wear this for a night out or it's just a really cute way to get your hair up off your neck during the summer. Oh and this hairstyle can be recreated on shoulder length, hair or longer, which is awesome, and, as always, I will share pictures of the final look over on my Instagram I'll link it down below so be sure to follow. Alright, let's get started for this hairstyle. We need to create three ponytails so for the first ponytail gather all of the hair, that's above your temples and then secure it tightly just below the crown of your head, then clip that ponytail out of the way for now for the second ponytail gather. All of the hair, that's above your ears and secure it tightly just below that previous ponytail. All right, then, clip that second ponytail out of the way for now all right for the last ponytail. You guessed, it gather all of the remaining hair and just secure it below that previous ponytail. Now unclip, all of your ponytails and your hair should look a little something like this, and the key is to have all of your ponytails as close together as you can alright. Now the fun part take your top ponytail and we're going to create a knot so bring your ponytail counterclockwise. So up the right side of your ponytail, and this will create a little bun shape. So hold your bun with your right hand, as you bring the rest of your hair over the top of your ponytail, then place your index finger and thumb through the center of the bun and pull your ends all the way through to create a knot. Now, once your hair is through pull your knot, nice and tight and then play around with the placement and shape, then bobby, pin the outside of your knot to your head by sliding your bobby pins towards the center, and if your hair is shorter, pin and out Of the way underneath you're not now, if your hair is longer just join your ends into the second ponytail now for the second ponytail we're going to create another knot, but this time wrapping your hair clockwise. So up the left side of your ponytail then bring your hair over the top of the ponytail and put your index finger and thumb through the center of your bun and pull your ends all the way through to create a knot, keep the knot, nice and tight To your head and just play around with the shape I like to fan mine out, because I wanted a nice big braid of course, and then, as soon as before, bobby pin your knot into place. Alright, enjoying your ends into the last ponytail and we're going to create our last knot, this time wrap your hair counterclockwise. I find alternating the directions of the knots mix of braids. Look a lot more intricate and difficult and it'll leave everyone wondering how you created it now, once you've pinned your last knot into place, you can tuck it remaining ends underneath and pin them out of the way or you could tuck your ends up and leaving your Ends hanging out for a more casual and effortless appearance, so there we have it. Linda Dillon: This is one of the prettiest up do's I've ever seen. My hair is shorter than yours, but I was able to do it the first time. It looked fairly good, I just need to practice. Your hair is thicker than mine, so I had to kind of pull mine apart at each knot, before I tucked the hair through the knot. It's really not difficult, just need to try it more times to perfect it, if you know what I mean. You have gorgeous hair and it's so thick you can probably style it in many ways.
