Come back every Tuesday for new hair tips from Danielle White, founder of DKW Styling and creator of the Natural Beaded Rows™ hair extension!

It'S setting y'all here from DK to be styling, and today today we today we have a serious matter, we'd like to discuss its the do's and don'ts of caring for your natural beater. Today, we want to share with you guys some of the do's and don'ts of taking care of your natural beauty, real hairy sentence and really some life-saving hair tips so join us and we're going to share use a dose. So one of the important things with caring for your ex hair extensions is using the right products and shampoos, and you always want to use a sulfate-free shampoo. So not enhancer bail, not the hand soap here at my salon, hair dkw styling. We use unite. It'S a really good sulfate free shampoo, which is also great for hair extensions. Come on Belle. Please, second tip is how to actually wash your hair a lot of people. I am always surprised with how they wash it it. You don't want to get your hair in a big ball. You don't want to wash your hair like a five-year-old. I guess you could say make sure that when you are washing your hair, that you take the shampoo and you wash down, this will just make it easier for you to comb out when you're done. So I know this seems like an obvious thing to most people, but how you brush your extensions is also very important one of the things that you don't want to do when brushing your extensions is start at the top, while trying to work your way down. It'S definitely an upon your real hair, as well as the extension hair. How you do want to brush your extensions is start at the ends and work your way up, but first the first thing you want to do is use a good leave-in product ones that I have at my salon is the 12 benefit. This is a really good. Detangle spray for extensions for the unite 7 seconds is a really good. Both are very lightweight, so you want to start by prepping the hair before you brush it and then you're going to start by at the ends of the hair and actually work your way up. This will create less pool on your extensions as well as just be better on your real hair. Don'T brush your hair again like a five-year-old like I find. My little girl at home was always trying to start here and work your way down or don't don't brush your hair. Like a like a husband, my head, my husband, always I have to teach him brushing 101, it's really important to start the ends and just kind of gently work, your way up to get something rid of some of the tangles, even down to how you blow-dry your Extensions is very important. I always tell my clients. One of the things you do not want to do is start to round brush the hair when it's too wet, and this will actually just cause a lot of pulling on the extension hair, as well as your real hair and with fine hair. I find that it actually creates a little bit of breakage now what you do want to do when it comes to the blow-dry is oftentimes. I tell my clients if they have time to air dry it a little bit or do what I call a rough dry. A rough dry is basically just using your hands and working your way through the hair without actually pulling too much with the round brush. When you get it about 90 to 95 percent dry, then you want to take in your round brush and actually smooth the extensions. If you take the time to smooth your extensions a little bit after they are dry, this will actually create the extensions to tangle, less and just give it an overall smoother look for your hair extensions and whether you want to wear it straight or curly. It will just cause a lot less tangling in the hair extensions if you smooth it with a round brush but wait until it's about 90, 90 to 94 percent dry. So a lot of times, if you're, an extension where you wear naturally arose a lot of people will ask. Then you know, how do you do your curls and one thing not to do when curling the hair is just go straight into curling it you never want to just curl it because often times what will happen because it'll? Actually, I don't know if you've ever had your extensions do what I call crawling crawling extensions. Your extensions may end up looking like this, because if you curl and you don't smooth first, it can actually cause the extension hair to tangle the one thing that you do want to do when curling your hair is run it through a few passes over the extension Hair with your curling iron, this will create less tangling. I never have my extensions tangle and I haven't really rushed it all day and they seem to stay smooth. So I'm always confused when clients come to me and they are experiencing a little bit of tangling and I always recommend to run a few passes over with their their curling iron, and this tends to help get less tangles and overall, give you a smoother finish on Your curl that day, okay, you guys so that kind of wraps up our Tuesday tips of the week, and I hope you guys found some value in our top five tips on how to care for your extensions. We'Re going to go over with you guys, really quick. What they are bail tip number one was sulfate free, shampoo soap, a free shampoo, not handsome non non hand, soap or any other soaps. When I first met my husband, he was washing his hair with with Deb, but not dove. Shampoo Deb are so classic happy discuss it selling it. I really felt for month at night, so use good products use a sulfate free shampoo, that's usually the best for whether you have hair extensions or you don't but definitely prolongs the hair. The hair extension hair is like tip number two was don't watch your hair like a five-year-old shampoo. Damn that's why you need to do. Is no men abyss, shampoo down, yeah and then you're in the safe zone. It'S going to help you or brushing out a lot easier, so tip number three was don't brush your hair, oh yeah, whatever from the top, how to brush it out and using I'm always surprised like how many people don't know that, honestly, I know I'm gon na Go back to my husband. I know he was. He was brushing my cute little five-year-old teryn, I'm watching her and she's like Hello, dad and I'm like. Oh, you started the ends and work your way up. He'S like you do. I can girl client? Yes, okay, oh good idea, yeah, it's good painful lean and gentle on the hair. It'S two ended with extensions, it's kind of a big deal. Otherwise, you would be pulling on the extensions damaged tip number four Wow and you also want to use a leave-in, yeah detangler afraid, that's like a mess with extension, so you'd be oh yeah. Just a few sprays: don't go crazy, you don't want it too heavy, but a few sprays to help comb it out, because it's so much more hair you're used to oh yeah. You need extra help. A little extra boost to help put my ear extensions at tip number four was rough dry. It'S it's super important to rough dry. What you don't want to do was like that wasn't nicely. You don't want to start with the round brush when the hair is soaking wet. No, you need the rough dry, the first like 80 to 90 percent for sure the Stanground brush up - and this I mean I think you should do this. Even if you don't work sentence, oh for sure, but especially if you do wear extensions because it's I think people are a little bit more aggressive with your sentence. Cuz they're saying: oh, it's not my hair, but it is attached to your real hair. Yeah peejoe, be nice nights, your hair, so that was September for tip number five, which I am, I noticed a huge difference and I don't think a lot of people do this, whether you're wearing your hair straight or curly. It'S important to kind of smooth it, whether it's with the round brush or like that was doing on our video is run over your curls or your sections of hair. A couple passes yeah me over a few times yeah with the curling iron, smooth it and then curl it. I can promise you if you do, that it will create your extensions or craters such as it'll make your extensions, a lot less Haley and just smoother and laylamon better, so yeah, especially cuz. The extension here expands after oh yeah she's, you know so it gets a little bit of a fuzzy texture which I love, but just to like, smooth it and blend it with your hair. I think a lot of people don't know that anything like if they can take everything wait. No, we would let you know that we send you home with an at-home care sheet, just that you don't have any, but no, I think it's important to educate your clients. Even on the simplest things, because I'm always surprised with how many people don't understand - and I definitely think as a professional and as a stylist. It'S our responsibility to do so. And if we forget to mention something, that's why we send them home with a cute little nifty, hey kilo, nifty paper. So hey you guys, that's our show for today.
