An Easy Updo For Shorter Hair

You perfected messy side buns, around-the-head braids, and sleek chignons. Then you got a haircut and could barely muster a ponytail.

Don't fret. In today's video, hair genius Adrienne Saczko of The Drawing Room New York demos a beautiful, easy updo for chin-to-shoulder-length locks. All you need is a curling iron (or hot rollers, if that's easier), hairspray, bobby pins, and your own two hands.

Hello, I'm Adrienne from the dryer in New York and I'm going to show you an easy and elegant style for short hit, so first you're gon na prep, the hair with some curl. If you have naturally curly hair, you can work with the natural texture and we don't have to curl it. I'M gon na start sectioning. The hair. Just the only thing you have to remember is: don't make your sections larger than the barrel of the coming iron to create more body curl closer to the roots spray, each section before and after, if needed, make sure that you sprayed down the cuticle. So you don't create more frizz after you're done curling we separate the curl with our hands. The next step would be to separate the front from the back, and this is where we begin pinning grabbing chunks of hair working it in and just pinning it up. Depending on the length and the density of the hair. You can either use a smaller, bobby, pin or a larger one, and we work in the center back of the nape, and then we work to the right, and then we work to the left now that I've done the bottom area from there we build in the Center and build on top of that, and then from there you work from the top that's building. On top of that again yeah, I guess you

Heismyrock3: This was a good video! I appreciate how you had the client doing it herself so she could get the feel for it and duplicate it at home. Good job!

Lillian Moe: Nice and quick!and actually for SHORT hair;)

Gabby Fell: Finally! I was looking for an elegant style I could use in a play st in 1890 in France- not exactly short hair heaven! I have naturally curly hair, so I can skip the curling.

catspyjamaz: so far the best hairstyle for short- shoulder length hair

tantsotis: You dont need any heat to make nice curls, make a search here on youtube on "curling no heat" and lots of good videos come up, Myself i use socks and/or headband overnight with just some leave in balm, works just fine for me. There are also fine looking styles, to be found here, using various scarfs that look good with shorter hair. Good luck and hope you get well soon.
