Hi girls Kim here so i am going to be no tutorial on prom hairstyles and for me i remember back when I wasn't doing prom that I didn't really have options of like how to do prom hairstyles yourself. There really wasn't. I know there was YouTube, but I just don't think it was really popular then so, of course, like many people we spend like 60-70 hundred dollars. You know, however much on prom when we can just do it ourselves, so I'm gon na be doing some um, really kind of really basic prom hairstyles and at the very end of the video i'm gon na, be showing you. My hair stylist actually did three different hairstyles for me, so i'm going to show you the difference between mine, which are very basic, and then you know give you options the end. If you know how to do french braids, because the last three hairstyles are people who know to do french braids, so i don't want to do it. So my best friend is a hair. Stylist did that for me, so I'm stay tuned and the first one I'm going to show you is really basic people who aren't that great with their hair can do this. This is for anyone at the very end, will be the more advanced styles okay. So i'm going to show you basically all you're gon na need to do my hair styles. You'Re gon na need a little clearer. I herrick little clear, rubber band, it's small! I got this on bollocky that I think you can buy this pretty much anywhere. I need any drug store. Has them in addition, you'll need these little pins here if you've never seen them before. These are for doing a bun and um. What'S great about them is if you're not so good at using basic bobby pins, to keep your hair up for a bun? This is awesome. It just takes two and you're just going to put them in your hair and i'll show you how to use them and addition you'll need a hair clip. So i have mice to do hair clip and then you're also going to need your glove because we're going to use a curling iron and then your hair spray 4. After so i have my s factor hairspray and your heat protecting spray. So I've got my got to be so the curling iron that I'm going to be using and you guys can use whatever one you want that I prefer mice to do. Curling iron. I think that it just holds my curl literally all day and it heats up fast. I just I think it's super easy, so I'm going to use Michael, the 19 millimeters and they also have one then two others that are bigger and I'm going to also show you what this one is: the 25 millimeter. So here's the difference on the size. So obviously there is a difference, but really it doesn't. Look that significant, when you actually curl your hair, so um you're gon na do is you're just going to turn it on for those of you that don't know how to use this to do, and I have two or three different temperatures high medium and low, because My hair is fine and it's a little bit damaged just from all the stuff I've done to it. I am going to only do it on medium, so, while it heats up, it literally takes oh, it's done already right now see how it's green. That means it's done. It takes like a few seconds to heat up. It'S awesome! So what the first thing you're going to want to do, and I'm just going to show you this for a second just so for you guys who don't know how to use the clipless curling iron. But i'm not going to show you how to do my whole head you're going to want to take your heat spray and you are going to just spray the hair and the good thing about this. He'S right. Is it dries super nice and that's not? It smells really good, but it doesn't leave like a heavy residue. Oh my hair is crazy. This is because I decided to twist my bangs earlier in the day. Okay, so you're going to take a little piece and you can do the sizes. You know as big or little as you'd like, and I think when you first started doing it you're really going to see what you like. If it you don't like the first curl, you can always do it a little bit more hair and then you're going to pull this over your head and you're going to be facing down and the hair is going to be going around so notice. How I'm going over my head, if that makes sense, be careful not to burn yourself? Oh, I did want to mention if you aren't really good at this, you might want to use your glove. Oh, your glove um I've been using my curling iron for a while. So I'm pretty good at it, but everyone's small burn myself and I wish I had the glove on so you're just going back around and then you're gon na wrap your hair around, and I am gon na leave out a little bit of a piece. Maybe like a half inch of hair at the bottom hold it for a few seconds, and then I'm not look though, and that's what the curl looks like. I love it, so i just want to mention. I did flat iron, my hair today, prior to this and a big thing of people saying well why'd, you flat iron, your hair, if you're gon na curl it for people who have frizzy hair, you guys probably know what I'm talking about your hair. Even if you curl, it still looks a little bit frizzy, it's like a prom style, and I want my hair to if it's naturally gon na fall towards the end of the night. I really want my hair to just fall and still be kind of straight. If i make sense a no frizz so by me, straightening my hair prior, it's going to help the frizz in my hair. So if you don't have frizzy hair, you would not need to straighten it prior. But as you see, it still really really curls nice and then, as it falls, it's gon na be like a more of a wavy, so very beachy look without the frizz. So I'll do one more. It'S really hard to do this without a mirror, hoping it'll burn myself so going to hold it for a few seconds and then you're gon na let go and that's exactly. It looks like so to compare the two sides of my hair it. Obviously my hair goes down to here and now it's up to here, so it definitely makes it look like your hair is shorter. So, just so you're aware see it's a pretty good size difference, but if you see the curls, they are such good curls and for being a smaller barrel. I kind of expected it to be super spiral, curls and really tight. In fact, it just looks really. It looks like an effortless curl. I'D love it. I can't wait to see what it looks like as it falls. So I'm gon na finish the rest of my head and you're gon na want to do the entire thing, but leave the bangs you're, not gon na want to curl disks you're gon na do something. Okay guys so i just got done curling my hair and I left my crazy bangs that I styled earlier something else. So everything is done. I didn't use any hairspray when curling so inner. So the first time I'm going to do is I'm going to take closer. I'M going to take about maybe about an inch of my hair, I'm going to separate it like this and then I'm just gon na cross it over, and I'm just going to continue that and I, like the twisting look, I think it's you know. I love the braid, but i think if you want a change, that's a little bit different than what everyone else is doing. This is just a nice alternative, but you can also do a braid instead and you can either do a French braid or a regular braid, but i prefer just being open. So you have more options because it's a French braid, you don't really have a many options. Onward the hair: do you want the hair to go so I'm going to bring it back and notice how I'm not going all the way down. So I want it to stop right here, so you're going to probably need a couple pens to make sure that it's secure making sure that you're using the same color bobby pins are close to the same color. Is your natural color so and then the next part. I'M going to do same and I'm actually going to take more hair on this side, because I have more hair parted on this side. So, and for me, I like doing this because i like my bangs out of my face, especially if i'm going to be going to a dance in gon na, be moving a lot. I really don't want to be touching my hair, ok, so i left a little bit at the ends, so I probably went about halfway and then, if you decide you want to do more, you know you're always able to go a little bit more. So you go all the way back, but these are just super super easy style. So if you all you need to know basically is how to curl your hair and then the rest just kind of happens. So this is what it looks like and then this side. So if you want with this side, if you decide that you only want one side done, you could just let the side down and have just one part, that's being pulled back. So I right now don't have any hairspray in my hair, I kind of say that to the end before I finish the styling, so this is number one, something that you can click do to change it up even more. Keep this like that and then you're going to pull it to the side again and when it's curled it just looks a little bit fancier and you can have this curl. You can probably curl this again, it's kind of going all over, but you can definitely just put the curling iron through that again, so it looks a little bit neater. But and that's the nice thing about the clipless curling iron. It just heats up super fast and you can go over this same spot again if it starts to fall out. So I wrapped my hair around again and then remember. You can also do like a little flower. I so in addition, I also got this. I use this for my wedding. I got married in Cabo on the beach, and so I kind of wanted stuff that was more beachy. This has a pearl in it and you can just put this right in like that. It'S just what it looks like and it definitely stays it's just a cute little accent and it's not too much. I know sometimes flowers a little bit too much so stuff like this. You can get at drugstores and it just is a little extra touch to make it look a little bit: dressier, okay, girls, so the next tile. These things are killing me. Yours won't look like that because you'll, probably just washed your hair or even sometimes second day, hair is a little bit better for styling. You can do a little poof and if you want, if you have one of those teaser combs, you can tease it. So it's a little bit. It looks a little bit neater if you see I'm just kind of going through with my fingers, I'm not taking a brush because I still want the curls to be there. I don't want it to be too soft, because I know by the end of the night it's going to fall and what I like about styles like this is you can wear some really pretty earrings and they're going to show um okay, so you can do half Up half down, okay, guys, the next half up, half down with bobby pins, are not the last style. Sorry, this is just another option and it's kind of nice as you can even tease it and get some volume back here. But i don't really like volume to be honest to do so, and then you can kind of like twist that so then it's out of your face or if you want, of course you can always have your bangs down. Okay. So the last thing that you can do is rubber band, pull it to the side and you can do like a side bun. So there's your hair and then you're just going to go around and I like it on this side compared it towards the back. Just so, you can actually see it more, and I think when you do buns you're going to want to eventually take that down and then bring some hair down and style it just curl it a little bit more. You want it to look a little bit more. Like PC, you're gon na make sure that it's secure and you're either going to use that or if you don't have that you're going to use your bobby pins and there we go it's in insecure and then you're just going to want to take a curling iron. Back so you'll remember be safe. Prom is super, exciting and a fun time in your life, but these days can be responsible. You

LillyFaith1: Thanks for the tip :) At the time I wasn't even thinking about taking a picture of the updos I did myself. But will definitely think about that in the future. :) I'm still pretty new to youtube and editing so I will be practicing this one. Thanks :)

Abby: I was really stressing over how to do my hair for prom because I really didn't wanna have it done professionally, and these are so easy that I know I can do them myself. Thank you (:

G Rayner: I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH! YOU ARE AWESOME! I USED THIS FOR MY PROM AND EVERYONE WAS ASKING WHERE I GOT MY HAIR DONE.

LillyFaith1: :) You're welcome! Glad this helped you :)

Steffie Williams Roberts: Thank you, and YW, this video is great! x

Melissa Pepin: Looks cute and easy!!

Destiny Jackson: thank you my prom is very soon and i had no idea how to syle my hair this was a big help!!

LillyFaith1: :) Glad it helped you! :)

Steffie Williams Roberts: Some are a full crown so has a silver lining on the back and the others are half way around. Plenty of bobby pins and the like involved lol! Thank you! They're all quite old now, I'm singing for text santa next week in my pageant gown and crown and needed a hairstyle that's why I was here. I'll give it a try some time next week :) x

LillyFaith1: Thanks for your opinion.... I think I noted from the beginning and even in my title the word "easy". There are some people out there who can't afford to get it done professionally and may not be good at doing hair. And the good thing about people is our differences. We all can't like the same thing. I'm sorry that the video bothered you so much. Just remember that even if it's not what you like or think is right, doesn't mean it was wrong. :)

LillyFaith1: How fun!!! I have never seen a pageant before. I bet you will look great! Thanks for watching my video. :) :)

LillyFaith1: Thanks Verna :) You are very sweet

LillyFaith1: Thank you! :)

amalikstar: nice simple hairstyles though :)

LillyFaith1: Oh thanks. I looked her up. She is pretty. :)

Steffie Williams Roberts: Will these work with a pageant crown? xx

LillyFaith1: :) I used to get that all the time. Funny thing is... she grew up very close to me and is friends with many of my friends.

K P: No offense, but I strongly disagree with you. Her hairstyles are super gorgeous, especially for prom! Side buns are cute and elegant for any occasion.

LillyFaith1: :) Thanks :)

LillyFaith1: I'm not sure. I think it should. I have never done pageants before so I'm not sure how the crown stays in. ;) Ps- I clicked on some of your videos. You have a very nice voice! :)

verna lee: you are good at the hair make

Emily: OMG I'm going to steal your prettyfulness!

Esther Anoniem: Tip: show at the very begin of your video the hairupdo.

cyaple95: You look like Adriana patridge from the hills

Réaltra Cosplay: i disagree, i think you look more like ana mulvoy ten

LillyFaith1: bahaha.... maybe I don't.. lol. ;) No offense at all. Thanks for making me laugh though. hehe :)

Livora Bellamy: göt2b - are you americans that obsessed with ä ö and ü ??? :)

amalikstar: no offence but in the pics it lookd as if u didnt have an arm?? O_o

morgancheerOA: No offense but these arent really prom hairstyles,.... they are more like everyday styles. Like seriously, a plain old side bun?! people wear that every day when they're having "bum days." Not at prom or a wedding...
