Joe Gray: Misleading title... They never address the bag on the mirror for when traveling alone... Prime example of click bait that should be removed or at the very least demonetized.

Dragon Heart: Never place a bag on your windows, unless you want to get pulled over for obstructed View

SJ DK FL: Tip: Bring a handkerchief to put over a mugger’s eyes so he cannot see to rob you. It can also be used to cover your own eyes so you cannot see him mugging you if it doesn’t work to blind him.

Kathy Butchart: The title tip was never answered-however, I think that the bag on the mirror will only alert crimminal minded persons to the fact that you are alone.

Lyn R: Best driver advice. Keep your doors locked when driving. You will avoid being carjacked when stopped at traffic lights or someone steps, forcing you to stop.

Chris Howard: So, I'll be placing a plastic bag over my mirror when I'm alone...........to remind me that I am a sad lonely person. Got it.

Inky Fingers: It's so the killer knows what vehicles have a person traveling alone

Joanie Hanel: I also wondered about the bag thing . I googled and it was said Bob Villa gave it as a tip for parking in bad weather such as taking in Freezing weather. Just like like park with your windshield wipers up in the air for the same reason. Besides, with your mirror covered, you can’t see someone walking up next to your car.

jane patton: Glad I started reading the comments and thanks to those who told us they never explained how a bag over the mirror is good when alone. Maybe they’re affiliated with making revenue thru police tickets for obstructing sight.

Britt Mac: Just so everyone knows, after some extensive research, the reason people are out here putting Ziplock bags on their mirrors is so that when they come back out to the car later there's no snow or ice buildup on them!

Gary Geiser: So now my car has a bunch of rubber bands, kitty litter everywhere and shoe racks and some over the shoe door racks (just like you said) and I feel like the car has become a flea market on wheels!

Blah Blah: Also when traveling with small kids leave mid afternoon. That way you can get a couple hours of drive time before first stop. Then it's dinner time an then bed. With a full belly an the soothing movement of the car out they go. Giving you hours of drive time.

Clark Kent Superman: Placing a bag over your mirror makes you walk around your car to check for possible traps or obstacles ...it also will potentially cause you to leave your vehicle while it is running so that someone can steal it ... Good news is that the car theif will have to stop at some point to remove the bag and they too will probably have the car stolen... I can imagine this cycle happening up to ten times...

c.n.: 'It's a door rack you hang over your shoes!' Quality stuff guys.

Sean Watts: I'm keeping my mirrors clean and *UNBLOCKED* - thank you very much. Blind spots are a hazard.

Stefanie Zuccaro: I’d rather keep a dummy in the passenger side

Peter King: I’m a tank crewman (D&M, Driver Mechanic), the pantyhose/tights trick works (but just not on a 60 ton Main Battle Tank). With a diesel vehicle, in the cold, the fuel can gel. Add a small amount of gasoline/petrol to your fuel, it stops gelling.

Opal Justice: The only logical conclusion that I can come up with for the bags over the mirrors is that if you cover the mirrors with the bags overnight, they won't ice over or get covered in dew and condensation. Just guessing, but that's the only thing that made sense to me.

G Man: After watching this, I wanted to place a plastic bag over my own head!

donna Dee: I do keep a few grocery bags in my car in winter, if snow or ice is expected, been very helpful and I can tear off pretty easily

Chris Jenkins: I guess the plastic bag over the mirror when alone is for when it’s cold outside. You place the bag over the mirror when you park the car and it stops the mirror from getting frozen and you don’t have to stand there alone and de-ice the mirror before getting back in the car. I’m not positive, I’m just guessing but figured I would share my thoughts since this video failed to fill us all in.

Chloe Benson Boxes: Nothing says I’m alone like a bag on your mirror

Rosie Gonzalez: Here’s my tip: put press n seal on your windshield at night and in the morning, peel it off. Peel off the ice and snow. Don’t put bags over your mirrors so you can’t see.

Shiela Fallon: I searched this very headline on YouTube because I saw this headline at the bottom of an article and suspected click bait so I clicked on this video and now I know the value of the precious passage of time and I need to read the comments for moral support. I need to know I’m not alone.

Fireside: Don't forget to check the gas level with a lighter...

Tater Tot's Momma: Peggy Williams, I am with you 100% I travel alone at times, I am more aware HOW I may look to a creeper and will go to extra lengths, diff NOT a bag over my mirror. Oh and clean your window, smear a ton of shaving cream on clean window, wipe off with dry cloth, tada no fog...works great for bathroom mirrors as well.

Dawn Buckner: I used to drive with a body pillow dressed in men’s clothing and had the seat laid back some, and a cowboy hat on a balloon which made it look liked a guy sleeping. I also wore a baseball cap or cowboy hat, and dressed like a guy, when traveling alone on long road trips meeting up with my family at their beach house. Everyone in the family knows why and never question my motives, because they know most criminals don’t usually attack men because they don’t know if they are stronger than they are and they back off if they have someone else in the car that are a man.

Jebus Christ: The war on misinformation is not concerned about actual misinformation.

Jason Jones: I found this for all of you people who are frustrated like me after watching the entire video : Ice is one of winter's hazards—both on the road and on your car. It's always best to park in your garage or covered carport to prevent ice from forming on your windshield and rearview mirrors. But for those who are stuck with parking en plein air, here's a clever trick. Just open up a few Ziplock bags and slip them over your mirrors. The plastic covering will keep most of the ice and snow from sticking, making those frigid mornings way less frustrating.

Tyler Dowling: This makes a lot of sense. The mirrors are bad anyway because I shouldn’t be able to see what’s going on behind me

Jeffrey B: So the killer can take said bag and suffocate the victim?

Mark Thompson: Helps every psycho know your alone, a victim personality and if the psycho isnt about you get to crash your car and be arrested for dangerous driving LIFES A BAG

Draya D: Thanks for saving my time y'all ❤

sassy tbc: Just in case you didn’t know, I am a woman traveling alone. Now you know I’m alone too. Lol

Victoria Herbert: So what I got from this is, never put a bag over my Sideview mirror got it

Tuder Khan: It’s so the Serial Killer has a convenient bag for the body parts he chooses as Trophies and his victim is conveniently tagged as alone…. Duhhh

Rambo: Always keep an empty water bottle incase u need to wee, it's so a good idea to take a bucket just incase you need to have a no 2

KP: "Kitty Litter" was originally invented for model 'A' car users as an absorbant clay poroduct to clean oil and grease from garage floors as well as a way to get over ice and snow. It was used as kitty litter when a car owner's cat squatted on a mound in his garage. And thus kitty litter was born!

Fred Lamb: First video I've seen that has more dislikes than likes, and for good reason.

Dudley: Don’t forget to regularly change the air in your tires.

Alissa Gonzales: My friend told me this one. When at a motel and you see someone checking your car out from your room. Press your panic or alarm button before he gets too close to check inside.

RaeAnn: Some of the comments are better than the video! . Thank you for the laughs. I had a stressful day, the comments were a fun way to lighten my mood.

Gregory Forrest: Best place to put your your auto insurance papers is under the driver or passenger car mat, most theives never look there but always want to steal this item for identify theft, I have had a number of vehicles over the years most of them were broken into by homeless theives, they will break into a car even if your interior is completely clean of anything, however been my experience is that they rarely ever check under front seats so I put a few things there, I think it might have something to do with getting caught while they have to kneel to look under there, they know how most people will punish them and they would be in a seriously bad position to get away with out getting bashed.

HBMcD: Using toothpaste on the headlights only works for a quick fix, yellowing comes right back. There's some awesome kits on Amazon that's under 20 bucks. I got one about 3 weeks ago but when I feel like doing it, it rains. somebody do it for me.

Ferg: All these years I’ve been just carrying my keys loose in my pocket, Now I know how to open my key ring....Yay ! No more loose keys in my washing machine ! Thank You Stupid People

GARY PRIEBE: I tried the mirror bag and in fact did both mirrors; the only results were a sobriety test and then a ticket for inoperative safety devices...

The channel: Cold weather: at night slip pair of socks of socks over windshield wipers / plastic bags over mirrors to keep snow & ice off… remove before driving.

Kevin McCormick: 12:08 of my life I'll never get back.

Temmie Taft: I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing!!

AutoTuna: Little known hacks: -Always cover your exhaust with a potato to recycle fumes. -A bit of sugar in your gas tank will give your fuel more energy. -Remove the windshield so it can't be chipped by flying pebbles. -Write your home address and phone number on your rear windshield so the police will know who to notify in case of an accident. -If you smoke, roll up all your windows so the smoke doesn't pollute the outdoors. -If it's hot outside, turn the heater on to max, instead of the AC. That way when you turn it off, it will feel cool by comparison. You're welcome!

BILL SHELTON: Correction on the hot water dent trick -- pour it over your head, then use the plunger.

Rain Smith: So the carjackers know who to rob.

Becky Elliott: I have an unusual idea I plan on doing before my next trip — get a child’s car seat and dress up a large stuffed animal to resemble a person or who\ whatever you like, and put it in either the front passenger seat, or back seat as you choose. Passing vehicles will get a laugh, and others will think you are not traveling alone. My choice is a large stuffed bear dressed as an old gold miner. If you REALLY feel creative, fill the vehicle with your imaginary family — What a hoot!

Art Snyder: The only reason to place bags on the mirrors of your car are to keep ice and snow from collecting on them

James Farrell: Wow Amazing video I never knew about any of these hacks Great job Have a wonderful day

K2C: It's always best to park in your garage or covered carport to prevent ice from forming on your windshield and rearview mirrors. ... Just open up a few ziplock bags and slip them over your mirrors. The plastic covering will keep most of the ice and snow from sticking, making those frigid mornings way less frustrating.

Brandy Yolidio: You got me my friend, but since I am here and not getting the answers I clicked for, that manicure looked nice and reminded me I need a pedi. Thanks mate!

linda lamb: And then they never got back to why you would place a plastic bag on your mirror when driving alone‍♀️

Koito rob: "Always Place A Bag On Your Car Mirror When Traveling Alone, Here’s Why" So you have an excuse for the police to pull you over and charge you with driving with undue care and attention for not being able to drive safely. Especially dangerous as the car pictured was left hand drive so when you go to pull out to overtake in traffic you can't see the car you're about to pull out into the path of... I think this is the very first video on this site that i've ever seen that has MORE dislikes than likes!

Debbie Duncan: Soooo, why do I need to put a bag on my mirror if I'm traveling alone?

Olivia Sullivan: The key thing works. Don’t need to put it under your chin but point it at the head or cord of your body because it amplifies the signal.

SafePet Haven: Be sure to park your vehicle facing east in snow/ice seasons, even when your home and driveway face north/south. LOL

Delta Raven: Just be massively late for work and never worry about defrosting your windshield again

JOANNE MCHALE: hand sanitazer is good for xcleaning the dashboard as well as steering wheel

Harper Martin: Lmao "Over the shoe door rack" alright then. Lol I thought I was the only one that did that

Stacey Phillips: I drove a semi truck for 3 years, and a couple of tips for lone travelers are wrap the passenger seat belt through the inside door and lock it, Noone can open your passenger door. The other is put a jacket or sweatshirt on the top of the passenger seat, it can look like you have a passenger, and for women, if you use a masculine looking one that can help too!

Cindy Rissal: I never thot of the staple remover bc i simply use the keys that are already right there, rather than go looking for yet another gadget...

Parmesana: I usually put a small trash receptacle on the floor/passenger side of car...First, I put a brick in it..then a disposable bag. It won't tip over and is easily emptied.

Wisco Kidd: There are quite a few other places I'd like to tell the maker of this video where to put the bag.

Pamelot70: WHAT ABOUT THE BAG????

Becky D: Telling people you are travelling alone is a bad idea, no matter how you do it! BTW, the plunger trick can cause WORSE damage than the original dent AND toothpaste can permanently scratch the lense cover of your headlights causing them to appear dimmer. Not hanging for the rest of this mess!

Don Bumgarner: Save the cost of a muffin pan and pay half the cost by buying your pop/drinks at the grocery store and keeping them in your fridge or add ice. By the time you get them home they'll be watered down from the melted ice anyway...

Bill Nelson: Use a lighter to warm up the key...be sure you dont melt it though.

Lovely Dianna: One of the best hacks ever my grandson learned from his economics teacher in 12th grade. He and i were traveling to Atlanta to see a Braves game. 200 miles from home. Leaving the stadium late at night, My car wouldn't start. My grandson said to put the key under my chin fir a few seconds & it would give iit enough charge to start the car. It did. When we stopped for gas & food on the way home. Same thing happened. I placed it under my chin again. It started. Once we got home I got the second set from my husband & drove to dealership next day to get new battery. But first told them to try to start my car with the key with dead battery. It would not start. They thought i was crazy when I told them ti hold it under their chin for a few seconds then try. They did & the car started. That little hack saved me a lot of anxiety & got us out of stadium parking garage & home safe & sound.

Harry Ballsacky: IT'S SO THE SUSPECT CAN GATHER YOUR BELONGINGS EASIER

Wanda Extrom: Typically a replacement windshield doesn't cost you ANYTHING and the company comes to you. She said to do the nail polish if you can't afford to replace the windshield, check first.

Just Traveling: Use beach sand to fix peeling clear coat on your car Just dump a bucket on top and wipe it around with 80 grit sandpaper Drive 100 miles an hour in a school zone while blindfolded to remove the sand. Don’t forget those hazy plastic headlights. This trick works on those too
