Hi, my name is Jorden. This is Kristen. Today we're going to be doing a bridal updo that is suitable for women who want to have the appearance of their hair being down, but they still want something interesting in the back. So Kristen's hair is already curly. I'M not actually gon na have to go in and do any prep work with my iron, I'm just gon na start. Taking my sections and as far as up use, I like to always take diagonal sections through the hair. Instead of going in and taking a horizontal section like that, because it's much easier to cover your sections as you're bringing the hair across, take my diagonal section here about half her hair and as I'm doing this, I want to keep my hands just lightly coated. With a shine enhancing pomade so that as I'm working with her hair, I'm also polishing the outer surface, which will give it a great shine. When we're finished, I'm just going to take my section again, bring it up a little bit and then, when I have it slightly elevated, I'm just gon na give her hair a good twist, so that I get this French twist design in here and then before. I go in and secure this with pins, I'm gon na go through and make sure I like the way the front is laying and if you don't like the way the front is lying. If you'd, like more volume in the top, all you have to do is take a rat tail comb and yours kind of loosen it until you get the proportion that you like for the front of her hair and then I'm just gon na take some pins. Some bobby pins and secure this in her hair. I always like to cross my bobby pins when I put them in just to make sure that they're, locked and they're secure and her hair is not gon na fall down halfway through the night, especially when she's dancing at the reception, and it works. Well. To put your bobby pins as you're, placing them just underneath the surface of the hair, so that they're not visible when you look at her okay, so once that's secure, we're gon na start working with the rest of her hair, making sure still to keep my hands Coated with my pomade, so I'm gon na take these sections that we kind of left from our diagonal on these sides. I'M going to take them back lightly. Can I get them smoothed out with my product and then all I'm going to do with this section? Is I'm just going to tie it into a knot and the night is going to lay at the base of the French twist here to cover up where the hair twists and then, when it's down? Let'S make that a smoother transition wrap the ends are on the underneath of the hair, make sure I like the way that that looks I'm going to grab my bobby pins and secure that design as well now as you're putting these in don't stress too much on It being absolutely perfect, but we're seeing with a lot of brides, is that they're wearing their hair, a lot more natural with movement and texture. It'S not so much the sleek slicked back, look all of the time you know I can come in here and make sure I like the positioning of this. If it's a little too low or a little too high, I can come in with my bobby pins and just kind of lightly reposition that, okay and now that that one's done, I'm just going to take some more underneath sections of her hair just off to the Side, I'm gon na do the same exact thing. Just give it a good tie. These ends around back again and even to secure it. You can tie them once more underneath to make sure it's really secure. I'M just gon na come in with my bobby pins and secure this design from the underneath and then, if I want to once this is all in and I've positioned it all the way I like, even though her hair is naturally curly, I could come in with My iron, just at the ends here, to give it a different sort of texture. I could come in and just very loosely wrap the ends of her hair around my iron, not so much to put in a ringlet curl, just to give it a curl texture and to change the way. Her hair looks a little so now that I've added some definition to her natural curl. I'M just gon na come in and lightly spray over the top. Just a really light shine spray. It'S gon na make her natural color Sparkle and it's gon na seal. The outside of the hair from getting any frizz or humidity if she's gon na be an outdoor bride, I'm gon na come in and kind of reposition make sure I'm really happy with how everything is laying and that's what's great about. The more natural looks is that you have more freedom afterwards to come in and manipulate the style. So here we have it. This is our finished updo um the whole process that only took us about 15 minutes. It'S really easy for someone to do at home. All it really is is just a twist in the hair and two ties, and then it's secured with pins. Okay, so she's all ready to go and get married and coming up next, we'll be doing in asymmetric shenyang to watch the other segments in this video series or for how-to videos on almost any other topic visit monkey si.com

ELana: @45Owls :) all good. You straighten your curls? I don't bother trying to straighten mine. It takes about an hour and a half to try it with a flat iron. Any tips for trying to do a quicker job of it?

Valeria gee: I Would Honestly Cry, If I Had To Go With My Hair Like That To MY Weddinq.

Linzi Mixon: @Alayne89 Um, my tip is getting someone else to do it, lol. In all seriousness, I wash it, blow dry it, then straighten it. Try using the sleek shampoo by suave I think. It works really well. ^^

August White: Guys? What year is it? This is basically what my Grandma's hairstyle was for her wedding...

cristina ibarra: i think with straight hair this look might of been better but trust me for a wedding dnt do it your self...i did my prom hair by myself and i regret it but at the same time no cuz its a lesson learned

ChicaLesya: ужас, что же у нее так руки трясутся((((( а с такими шикарными волосами однозначно  нужно было делать прическу на основе плетения

MIMILOVMUSIC: dayyuumm her groom must reallllllly love her jajaja

BIAXlD3NT: "okay shes ready to get married" pretty much all she did was put on a pony tail on her "rat nest" of a hair...... "okay that will be 60 dollars"

Kam Jo: If that was me you wouldn't be getting paid a dime for making me look matronly on my wedding day. :(

Airah Dela Cruz: How she make hairstyle without blowdry??

ashley tucker: @candy25love4ever as a licenced stylist, you're not supposed to put your comb down while you're working.

Linzi Mixon: Um, do they even brush the hair first?? Just...wondering... :\

ELana: @45Owls not usually. brushing curls makes them go haywire. Super frizzy effect and lots of uh... volume...

IllyrianPrinces00: PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT DO THIS TO YOURSELVES! YOU WILL REGRET IT

Linzi Mixon: @Alayne89 Oh trust me, I hear you there. I have curly hair myself. I was just wondering. I have to straighten my hair....every few hours. Lol, yeah, but I was just wondering. Wasn't trying to be ugly or anything like that, I was just asking. ^^

swatson1190: Beautition not magician.

Ria zegknie: and besides she was way too nervous.. look at her shaking hands!

Whitaby: I liked it..but not for a wedding.

Melissa0404: what her name please ?

Fabiano Dasilva: no words. only...XXXXXXXX, you are fired

marie-elena Waldrip: Not a great look sorry to say- All that great, thick, wonderful hair and look at it- This gal would have been better off with highlights and flowing silky hair- Worst Bridal hair video and hairstyle I have ever seen- I am a professional MUA and this is just terrible-Feel terrible for this Bride if she had to walk down the aisle looking like this- Sorry-

Marisa 94: her hands are shaking ! Either she's a smoker or she's extremely nervous , but she doesn't sound shy or nervous !

Allyson Ashley: Bed head look is not a wedding look... I agree, she should have taken the time to straighten her hair, add curl and put a little more effort into her look. 15 look for every day is god, but for a wedding. Good instruction but bad choice in hair style...

kachna2202: hrůza!!!!

lolez1000: ياعيني ع التسريحه الله يخلف بس ع الاقل استشوار

mineman9: so annoying , she never lets go of the comb ..

nichole307: ..........YOURE FIRED!

Ria zegknie: @LoveMokes, that why take this model?? she was way over her head and this isn't the only video in witch she flunks big time.

Jeremy Humbert: oh my god that's ugly why starting by this kind of french twist ......poor bride

IllyrianPrinces00: @LoveMokes her job is to fix it...

Airah Dela Cruz: Not nice
