How To: Indian Bridal Hairstyles For Short Hair

A hairstyle created to demonstrate how to add a lot of volume by backcombing short hair. This 60's inspired hair style tutorial is more on the creative side, perhaps for a fashion/catwalk, but can also be worn with a dupatta as an asian bridal hairstyle on an Indian/Pakistani wedding. Although it was done on short hair, it can easily be replicated on long/ medium hair.
A hairpiece was used as stuffing at the back of the head; this is where a potential dupatta would be pinned in place. Then hair extensions were used to cover this stuffing/hair piece/fluff/foam.

Today, we'll be showing you how to create a lot of volume on short hair and transform it into the 60s inspired updo we've started by putting rollers on blow-dried hair and as each roller is removed, that section of hair is back combed. The only section of hair, not included, is the hair in front and beyond the clients, air which can't be seen properly in the video, but when all the sections have been back home. Do you end up with something that looks like this here? You can see the front section that I mentioned earlier, smooth the back combed here and start shaping it in the shape that you want use the tail of the comb to increase the height that you want and use alligator clips to hold the hair in place when You'Re happy with the overall shape of the hair. You can spray it with an extra hold hairspray and then carefully replace the alligator clips with bobby pins, make sure to criss cross the bobby pins, so they stay in place now. Moving on to the back of the hair, since the hair is short, we can't do much with it. So we'll take small sections and spray the ends with light hold hairspray to get better control and then loop them neatly out of the way once again we're spraying the hair with light hold hairspray for better control and to make it easier to pin them away. Now. We'Re placing hair stuffing, on top of all the pinned up, hair and securing it in place using bobby pins in all directions. We'Re going to hide this stuffing using some hair extensions. Pin them on top, like you see, make sure the extension boundary becomes invisible. As you pin and then place that extension out of the way and place another one on top of the stuffing hiding the line of the extension completely using pins now smooth out the ends of the extension and use it to cover the stuffing pin it such that No pins are visible and then the ends of hair that are left can be twisted and hidden inside the stuffing now take that first piece of extension and smooth it out. You can either just simply cover the stuffing with this or make some funky patterns out of it. Now the back is all done, but we still have the front section to do we're back combing the front too and pinning it in a way that suits the client. Once you have the front completed, you can make any final adjustments and add a hairpiece or a hairband. If you want and that's it really, the hairstyle is complete.
