Tarantula Scare, Hairitage Family Photoshoot, Robotic Competition, And More!

( upbeat music, ), (, scream, ), Hey everyone, it's Mindy McKnight.! So this morning, I'm taking off on the beginning of my crazy whirlwind of trips for all my retailer meetings.. So I'm going out at DFW directly to Philadelphia where I'm speaking at the Emerson Group of industry days today rehearsal today, speaking tomorrow., It's crazy. We'll get to the rest of it, but that's the beginning. Just Philly. Start with later this week we hit Chicago as well.. Then I come home and it's like a whirlwind of trips, this month. Very exciting.. So if everyone can cross their fingers because we're trying to pitch a bunch of different retailers to pick up (, mumbling ), so wish me luck., ( upbeat music ), We survived the tech rehearsal., We did.. I think they want just to dance tomorrow., Mindy's gon na bust out some moves, instead. I'd rather dance than speak. I think. At least they'd all laugh., Hey, I'm back at my hotel.. I totally forgot to pull out my phone and film tonight. Went to a kind of like a reception dinner for everyone speaking tomorrow and just got to mix and mingle with lots of cool people and have some interesting business conversations.. Some of'em were like people who kind of have like totally opposite, not viewpoints like politically like on work stuff as me., And it was really interesting to talk to them. Cuz always think having differences of opinion and listening to people and hearing'em out makes your brain expand.. So it's interesting. Back at the hotel. Very boring stuff guys., I'm wearing a green suit. Tomorrow.! I'M gon na look like the jelly green giant, but it's cute.. I'M gon na rehearse my talking points and I'm gon na go to bed.. Well, it's the morning of the event.. I have my hair and makeup done with a ponytail back, because I'm worried about the microphones, like my hair rattling in the microphones or like. If you go like this and then your face was covered from the camera., So I pulled it back and I'm wearing a green suit.. I showed you guys I'll show you when I get the blazer on I'll, do a fit. Check.! That'S it.! I'M just practicing checking my makeup right now in the camera. Practicing all my bullets again this morning, going through it and eating trying to eat some food.. Okay, so here's the outfit., Don't know if you can see it. I'll stand up here. Here you go. Green power suit. Has these cute pops of pink on the sleeves, and I am gon na - wear the sneakers with it just to keep things nice and real. Like it can't be too you know., I got ta still keep it. Real. Yesterday went really well.. I think the speaking portion went really well.. Everyone seemed to be really receptive and really engaged in what I was saying, which is good.. I forgot to film, but it's the next morning., It's 4:00 AM., There's literally nobody up. That way too early to get up guys.. We'Re off to the next city. Chicago.. Here we come. (, upbeat music, ), (, conveyor belt ), Another day, another airport. Another, really early morning., I'm so tired at this point.. I'M like my popping my eyeballs open. Flight, three in three days., So I'm home. Just got home. Had a funny thing happen. While I was gone. Got a note through the rescue, the puppy rescue that they had need of just a foster for like 48 hours. For a mom with seven puppies. They're, like barely three weeks, old. Sean tried to act. Tough and act like he didn't wan na do it. Huh, I'm just a sucker for these little animals. Yeah. He was like you got ta ask next time first. And I'm like. I will I promise. Because it always ends up being me taking him out in the middle of the night.. It'S me cleaning up if they get vomitty.. No, it's only two days and I help. So meet Daisy.. This is the mama.. Are you the mommy baby Huh? Oh you're, such a good mommy. Aren'T you? Yes, you are.! So here they are. They're, all just passed: out. Yeah, I'm right here, Daisy., Keeping an eye on things. See'em, all. They're, just a zonked. There's seven of them., Oh Ryland's meeting'em for the first time.. Oh my god., So this one right here is the only girl. All the others are boys. And the yellow one where's yellow, Yellow is the runt., So we're just fostering for the weekend for people who are going out of town. She's she's awesome. She's, a good dog.. He's the biggest he's the big boy. Look at him. They're, only three weeks, old. About as big as Ash here., But there's only three months difference between what you're holding right there and this right here. Ellie. ( puppies. Whimpering ) That's ready.. This is Daisy.. Aren'T they cute See she walked through there and they can smell the milk. So now they're all whining. Yeah. They want milk. These puppies', dad and Ellie's. Dad are the same.. They are Yep., So they're half siblings., So we're at a Vex robotics competition for Dax.. It'S called for the love of the box. And he's been here all day. Competing. Wasn't quite ready.. They did really well. Did well for not having it done.. They did really well.. They actually won the majority of their matches. Today.. What do you think Dax First competition of the season. Think we could have done better.. Well, your bot needs to be done.. You need a flywheel on there. Yeah., So this isn't the exact core set. But the idea is generally that there's these little discs and they need to pick up the discs with the robots and then throw'em into the opposing teams. Little net like goal, eat goal., And if they can get the most points they win., They also can earn points by spinning these to the opposite, color, which is tricky to have robots do.. So every round the teams get paired up in twos.. So it's like two on two and they compete and whoever gets the most points, advances and, at the end, there's like an elimination process like a final round. And then they declare the winners.. They also get points for, like their notebooks being clean and organized.. It'S a whole thing., They usually start at, like 6:00 AM and last competitions go until like six or seven at night.. This is a Wednesday night activity in the McKnight home. We bond family, bonding over., Hey, say I charge $ 10, an hour. Braids. How do you feel about this? I just wan na see how long could I take to take out the last ... How you doing Dakota My fingers, freaking hurt. ( laughing ) Already, I think, he's done literally two braids., That's a second.. I'Ve done three.. I'Ve done three., I don't believe that.. He like his fingers, have no nail either.. My nails are very helpful because they get in those braids. See. I have no nails, so it's hard.. I think I've done 20 in Dakotas and two. Leo.. This is my first time.. This is Mindy's like ..., Hey, you know what Dakota I'm gon na give you props for doing. It. Mad props., Yeah Ace is not doing it. And guess. Who'S standing in the back over ... Ace has gone from the kitchen to the bath. Ace get in here.. So today is a photo shoot day day, one for heritage for all the new stuff. I've been shooting all morning., I'm gon na go up and shoot some more and then I do a lot of video today and then tomorrow the whole family's gon na be here. And the house we're shooting at today has a really pretty view of a lake. We're working with all the gang making us look pretty.. I was inside filming video of like talking points., This new stuff that we have coming out next year is like it's really technical. It'S otc, which means there's actual like medical claims attached to it., And so, like the verbiage, like for legal reasons, obviously, and for regulatory reasons, has to be very specific.. So they have all these bullet points for me to use on these videos that we're gon na be putting out that are kind of educational pieces., But then I have to like also make it sound like I'm talking to you guys still cause. That'S that's like my shtick and it's like how I always communicate with you guys and teach you new things.. Then I have to do it in a way that's like legally and regulatory approved, which is very tricky. And then not sound. Like a robot., Not my favorite part of the day., I'm also side note started my period last night., Not ideal timing.. So today I just feel like, like I'm fighting like a lot of emotions., I swear being even sucks. Sometimes you guys., So the first time I've been on set like just because I was battling these verb. This verbiage, with this videos and literally felt like I, was gon na like start crying, and it has nothing to do with anything anybody's doing., My team's being amazing., It's literally just like the frustration of like like I just want to say it. How I would, in my own words, say it you know, And then you can't so you're just like this is so complicated., It's so much harder than it needs to be, but it has to be. Anyway. Sometimes I mean it's good cause Leo keeps us all honest.. The regulatory keeps things healthy for you guys, sometimes man. Woo., It's tough. In the interim, the rest of the team's been outside, shooting like product shots for old product., So we're just trying to get some really beautiful pictures, since we have new models on set today that Are new and fresh pictures of some of our old best selling products.? So that's what they're working on., I'm just about to head home because I got ta, do it all again: tomorrow.? Okay! I just got asked to go pick up Ellie from the groomers.. She got a haircut today and I'm excited to see what she looks like.. She is still a puppy, but she she looks like she's like a 70 pound puppy cuz she's like a big ol', fluff ball.. So I'm excited to see what she looks. Like., Like now she's, probably gon na, look like she weighs probably like 20 pounds.. I will go pick her up and I will show you what she looks: like., I'm pretty sure she's gon na look dang cute., So stay tuned to see the haircut. Okay. I am back from getting Ellie. Here she is.. Let me show you her.. She looks so cute. Huh Ellie. I knew it.. I think she looks like 30 pounds lighter.. So all that hair made her look, heavy., She's all cut and groomed.. She looks good. Found this guy in our front yard.. I don't know where he is going. He's going. Somewhere. (, scream ), Not funny.. Okay, tarantula on the ground is one thing. Tarantula flying through the air., Not funny.. It'S a stick. Mom. Dad did that to me.. That'S not funny., He just made it look like the tarantula. Not funny cause Sean actually flipped one at me, one time.. I hope she doesn't see that next., So I set that next to it.. So if you're from Texas at all, you know we had tarantulas occasionally.. I think we've seen him. We'Ve lived here, 10 years.. I think we be wasting five.. So it's I mean it's an occurrence, but not like every day. It'S mating, season. May and like September October, are mating seasons cooler. They come out more.. We found a dead one in the backyard last week.. Today we found a live one in the front. Yard., Listen! Here'S the thing.! If I had to choose a poisonous spider to have a living in my space, ... They're, not poison.. Tarantulas are not that bad.. They really aren't. They're huge and they're kind of creepy. Looking but they're, not bad. Dax says they're, not poisonous. They're not., Also tarantula versus copperhead. Tarantula, any day., Oh snakes, No. Copperheads, are mean and aggressive and highly poisonous., So ... Tarantulas aren't poisonous. We'll take it.. I'M currently at the airport, going through security, because I'm flying to DFW back to Dallas for our photo shoot, and I thought it was our Christmas photo shoot until today.. Apparently our Christmas photo shoot is like in a few weeks, but we're doing a photo shoot for Heritage 90 K and all the things. So excited to go.. ( upbeat, music, ). Okay, I just got home. Come here.. I got you. Morning Two.. I have my hair beginner curls started., No makeup yet., But we have Dax in here chilling waiting for his turn. Sean. Ty, waiting to video. Everyone chilling.. Let me walk you around and show you what it looks like.. So this is the makeup station at Holden, and Showy back in that corner is their ... They're on a break.. This is this: is the styling wardrobe section and our great stylist.. Then we have like different rooms with different shots set up.. You can see they're setting up in the bathroom..
