Hey guys for today's video, we are going to do some rope. Braid hairstyles I've been itching to just do some root, braid hairstyles. So that's what this video is going to be about today, we're going to start with a very basic rope, braid and kind of work. Our way on up so let's go ahead and get started, so I'm just going to put my hair all to the side and I'm going to split it into two equal sections like this. So this right here is my inside section. This right here is my outside section, I'm going to take my outside section, I'm going to take my pointer finger and I'm going to twist it away from my face like this around my finger. So when I stay away from my face, I'm talking about that way. This would be near my face, but we're going away from my face, so we're twisting it that way and then you're gon na take that outside section and you're just going to cross it right over your inside section. So we're just switching hands but you're going to continue twisting your outside section away from your face so again away from my face and then do the same thing. Take that outside section cross it over that inside section just swap places one more time take the outside section twist it away from your face and then just cross it over that inside section and do that all the way down. So you will know if you did your rope braid correctly, because you will put your hair tie on like I did here and it will not loosen it'll stay nice and tight and secure, and here is a basic rug braid. So you can wear it as a side. Braid like I just showed you or you can wear as a ponytail, which I will show you real quick. So here's our row braid ponytail. So I showed you how to do a rope braid. So now I'm going to show you how to do a rope, break bun super simple and it's so cute. So all you're going to do is you're going to take that rope, braid and you're just going to wrap it around itself. So as I'm wrapping it around itself, I'm just Bobby pinning it into place using my medigrip Bobby bins, so just keep going wrapping it around itself. Once you get to the ends, just kind of tuck them up underneath so they stay hidden and then just bobby pin them into place foreign. So to do a French rope, braid you're, going to start at the top of your head. Take a section of hair split. It into two sections and just like we have been doing I'm going to take my right section and I'm going to twist it away from my face, I'm going to cross it over my left section and make sure when you're crossing over you're Crossing it tight. Add in a section of hair to your right fat in a section of hair to your left, take your right section twist it away from your face cross it over your left section and I'm just going to add in hair to my right section. Add in hair to my left section make sure you're adding the same amount of hair to each I'm going to take my right section twist it away from my face and I'm just going to cross that over my left section. So I'm just gon na add in hair again to my right section, add in here to my left section, I'm going to take my right section, I'm going to twist it away from my face cross it over my left section Crossing it nice and tight. I'M just going to split the rest of the hair since I've reached the bottom of my neck into both sections and just twist the right section away from my face Crossing it over my left again twist the right section away from my face Crossing it over my Left from my face Crossing it over the left away from my face Crossing it over the left, and now you see you can see, I got some layers coming out, which is super annoying when I bring it over I'm just taking that inside section now and I'm Twisting it towards my face Crossing it over my outside, so you do the exact opposite, which is so confusing so again, taking my inside section section twisting it towards my face and then over the outside section, taking the inside section twisting it towards my face Crossing it Over the outside section, so here is what it looks like can take it, and just kind of you know, fluff it out a little bit love this one I feel like it looks like a princess braid. It is just so beautiful. I picture this in the summertime with a cute little sundress love it. My camera is dying, so I've got ta hurry up next. One we're gon na do like a pigtail hairstyle, so we can either braid going back like I'm gon na do or you can braid going down the side so down the side is going to be a little easier because, obviously you know your arms are down or You can break going back, so I'm gon na do the more difficult one and it's gon na be the same steps for both like we have been doing. Split your hair into two sections you're going to take your outside section, which is this one right here and you're gon na cross. It away from your face, twisting it over that inside section tying. It tight now we're just picking up a section of hair, adding it into that outside section, picking up a section of hair, adding it into that inside section, then we're just going to take that outside section twist it away from our face cross it over our inside Section add in hair, add in hair take that outside section twist it away from your face cross it over that inside section you can see our rope braids starting to form adding in hair and I'm gon na add in hair I'll turn around just a minute. So I can show you guys and then just taking that outside section twisting it away from your face Crossing it over the middle and I'm gon na turn around and show you the back. Just keep going and you're gon na add in here to the outside section. Add in hair this section take your outside section cross it away from your face crossing over that inside section. Take your outside section. Add in hair inside section, add some hair to a outside section away from your face press it over the inside section. Then just do this all the way down and I try to make sure all my hair is added in by the time I reach the bottom of my ear. You can go ahead and just tie it off with a hair tie. I'M just gon na grab a section of hair. Just do a regular rope. Braid split it into two taking the outside section, twisting away from my face Crossing it over the inside section and just doing this all the way down all right. So here's our rope, braid gon na, do the same thing to this side, so just bring your braids around the back pick up some hair in the middle of your head and then just tie it with a hair tie. And this is it your style and it is so beautiful. So that is the end of the video. Let me know which style was your favorite in the comments below don't forget to like subscribe, leave, a comment and I'll see you guys in my next one bye,

Laura McCament: WOW!! Thanks for the detailed demonstration!!! It's just a little trickier than I realized (that twisting separately and away from your face business)!... Yep mine always loosened up, drove me crazy! The french braid is amazing!! YOU are so talented and a great teacher! Thanks for sharing !!

Natalie Jenner: I have super curly hair and am always looking for new ways to wear my hair. Great variety of ways to wear rope braids. Thanks for the ideas!

CC R: I'm definitely going to try the first one and the bun. Thank you for such clear instructions!

Susan Henley: When doing a rope braid, I imagine a clock on the floor, then I turn both strands clockwise, then always twist the two counter-clockwise. This helps me avoid confusion when either switching hands or looking back-and-forth between the mirror in front of me and the one behind me. Like combining a rope braid with a french braid pattern. Gotta try that one.

Madeline Davis: I love the pony tail rope braid from the start and the half up one at the end! Thanks so much! You do amazing videos!

Eliza: this is amazing. another fantastic way of knowing exactly how to do it from the best. I absolutely love your sweater the colour really suits you and like @thatbunnygirl1522 said, you’d earrings are stunning. would love if you did a makeup tutorial (i remember someone mentioning it in another of your buses in the comments). you are such an inspiration and motivator! i’m sure so many people really look up to you and i definitely do. i hope you had a wonderful weekend and your week is amazing too tysm for another inspiring and incredible video ❤️

ThatBunnyGirl: I love this video! It will become useful! I always am looking for new ways to put my hair up, especially because there is a lot of it and it is very layered! Love what you do, DON'T STOP!!!!!!!!!!! Also, where do you get your earrings??!! They are so beautiful ❤

Emma Jones: I love them all but if I had to choose I would have to go with the half up style. Loving all your videos. A slightly belated Happy New Year to you and your family. Emma from Wales (UK) xx

~ Friendship Bracelet Tutorials ~: Hey Lainey! Great video! Please do a back to school/ work hairstyle video again this year!

Amanda Bourland: Love watching your videos, my favorite rope braid is are the ones on either side of your head going back.

Nazat Sakellaropoulou: Rope braids are my favourite, so obviously i loved your video ❤️ Much of love to you and your family from Greece

Laura A: This sounds so silly, but when I do a basic rope braid and let it fall to the middle of my back, I feel it pulling on my hair in a weird way to the point I can't wear it (even when it's super loose). Any solutions? Love the video... Thank you so much!!

Charu Shekhar: I love the first 2 and the last one!

Arras10: Super cute as always

BarnesBucks: Hey! Could you do a tutorial where you use a scarf as part of the braids? I'm not sure how it works but it looks like the scarf is used as a section of hair and being braided in.... I hope I'm making sense lol. The finished look looks like a crown braid

Crystal: I like the 1st and last ones the best. They're all cute though.

Danielle Bernier: Quick Q: what's the definition of twisting away from the face? When I look at this video for the French braid part from the back, it looks like it's twisting towards the face, no? Just trying to understand so I don't mess it up!

Hermine Nazari:

Emeli McAllister: ❤

Natalie Erman: First! Also I’m a transgender female and I wanna say I love your hair and personality! You inspire me and I love you sm girl ❤️❤️❤️
