Wolfynet: it looks beautiful you look beautiful I know it’s shorter than you wanted but it’s so cute on you

Sarah Harris: As a hairdresser myself I always take down a small side section and ask people to physically touch their hair and grab the exact spot and we cut the first snip together. Their version of what 4 inches looks like vs your version are usually very different. It’s never a bad thing to double check, and I’ve found usually more people would rather appreciate you checking with them multiple times, than taking the lead after hearing it once and then ending up with a situation like this.

selenite: as a training cosmetologist, hairdressers should ALWAYS ask their clients exactly what they want. and make sure that the length off is agreed. i trimmed someone’s hair and we agreed on 4 inches. i could’ve gone shorter because of the splits, but i knew that she liked long hair and didn’t question it.

Morgan Dawn: I had super long hair. It was all the way down to my waist. I went in for a trim and ended up walking out with hair above my shoulders. I was devastated. For some reason the hairdresser thought it would look better that way. Now I always make hairdressers show me exactly how much they're going to cut before they start.

Jules W: Omg I get you this actually happened to me too on the day of prom. I usually trim my own hair, but I decided to go get it professionally done since it was my final year in school. I went for a trim and to get loose curls, I came out with half my hair chopped off (not even neatly in the original shaping of my hair, just a straight line cut of) and pretty much the worst perm under the sun It looked so horrible and I had to wash my hair a good 6 times before the curls started to loosen (not enough but there was a slight visible difference) Never letting another hair dresser touch my hair ever again... I'm so sorry the hair dresser did you dirty like that ❤️

Sarah C: This is why I don’t even go anymore. A trim isn’t 6 inches off Jesus lord

celestia ludenberg: your hairs is beyond BEAUTIFUL. I would literally die to have your hair, plus if you had my hair I think you would cry harder than you already are-

Punda-wunda: As somebody who’s grown my hair to a long length my whole life I understand how it feels to have to loose the length. It’s kinda stressful but trust me it gets better your hair is gorgeous girl ❤

Hannah Preece: This is why as a hairstylist I ALWAYS make sure to have them show me where they want it to fall, and I suggest to anyone that they do that even if their hairstylist doesn’t ask! It is our goal to leave you feeling happy and confident or at least I think it should be!

ari: a couple years ago, i asked for curtain bangs and a trim (my hair was all the way down my back), and i ended up with straight cut bangs and a lob. i cried for *days*

Brittany: I feel you, girl.. first time I've gotten my hair cut in years, and I'm currently looking like a 90s heartthrob when I was going for a sexy shoulder-length bob

dazai *: this just made me appreciate my hairdresser so much more, she knows that i don’t want a lot of length cut off my hair every time i go in and always asks me if i want more or less cut. you really do look beautiful though, the length with those layers suit you :)

Chloe Red: I know it’s so tough when you’re attached to your hair and they cut it too short but it honestly looks great either way! I had hair down to my ass and used to be devastated when the hairdresser would cut off more than an inch. I was so protective of my hair but one day I decided to impulsively get a pixie because my hair was so dead and I wanted it to be healthy. It can be so freeing having the comfort of your hair taken away because you learn to be happy no matter what your hair looks like. As I said, it looks gorgeous both now and before. It does still suck though that they didn’t listen to what you wanted and took that away from you. It might feel awful now but hopefully you come to love your new style or at least live in harmony with it :’)

Charlie: Your feelings are really valid and I completely understand (you are very beautiful with your old hair and now so no need to stress too much). I literally won’t go to a different hair dresser anymore after they got it right. If you want to laugh about how your haircut was definitely better than mine here’s my story So my mom being a wonderful human took us to the hairdresser as I was having a tough time in school and she thought it would cheer me up and get me looking nice for school pictures. We’d gone to this place before and they did a good job so we went again and I got a different person which made me a little anxious and you know that feeling when they’re doing it wrong but you can’t say anything so you just sit sobbing in the chair to yourself. Yeah that was me the whole time. I had a beautiful bob and asked for a slight trim but they made me look like the spitting image of a COCONUTTTT like I looked like jay from in betweenerssss. And I was crying to my mom after and she cheered me up by telling me about when she was little they went to buy a new house and the real estate agent said and this room is perfect for you little girl and this one for your little boy. My mom only has a sister. But it took a year to grow out again and I never ever went back and left a very angry review on trip advisor because I deserved to be a Karen. (Also apparently the owner of the salon washed my moms hair with dish soap and tried to charge her extra because it was “special treatment”) so yeah feel free to laugh at my previous pain

Serapio Gonzalez: You look good. Own it! This story and your willingness to talk about how hair does really mean something can inspire other girls. Especially with your platform. Be the beauty you wish to see in the world

Mishiki Crisy: I've went EXACTLY through this! That b**** cut literally half my hair when all I wanted was a trim. That was exactly my before and after... and all because my mom wanted to schedule me the exact same day I asked her no matter where instead of where I wanted in any other day. And my hair grows back extremely slow :(

Caitlin Dalton: I understand how devastating this is, but you’re still gorgeous and she didn’t ruin! I promise you it grows back faster than you thought. I lost my hair due to an health emergency and emergency brain surgery and having to have my head shaved so I get it.❤

2020: This is literally what my hairdresser did a week out of my wedding. The only thing I loved about my hair was the length, now it’s so short I’m hideous. Not to mention my hair has taken over 10 years to reach just above my bottom. All gone now

Anushila Dey: It looks good tbh and healthier. And you can always let the hairdresser know that you don’t want more than 1-2inches go. If there’s damage, they will suggest u cut more but hold your ground if you want. In the end, it’s hair and it will grow back.

Grace: You look STUNNING! It suits you so well! We need a change sometimes and it’s horrible that it wasn’t what you wanted but it looks BEAUTIFUL on you. <3

Baylasan: Girl I feel ya I told my hairdresser the exact same thing and she ended up cutting more than I told her too and I shouldn't stop crying about it but you look gorgeous and hair grows back thankfully but you look stunning ✨️

GlitterGGGunner: The cut is SO cute but I know how this feels. Asking for a trim, maybe an inch or so, and having them chop off 6+ inches a few months ago, right before my husband got home from a year long deployment and I was SO excited to show him my long hair I grew for him while he was gone was devastating.

C.A.: As someone that’s had really short hair and really long hair and prefers long hair most the time. I honestly get it, what people don’t understand is having something done to you that you don’t want or signed up for can cause you to feel upset like this, and it’s totally normal. I don’t know why people are so rude when people with long hair get lot of it cut off, you don’t know what they have done or gone through. Same way many want to view people with long natural hair as boring and praise when stuff like this happens without someone wanting it even though not realizing many people feel safe with their hair. I’ve dealt with hormonal issues for over a decade resulting in so much hair loss and thinning I used to have beautiful long thick loose curly hair now I have noticeable lack of hair in spots and don’t wear my hair up as much and wash more often so it’s not as noticeable and try to maintain my long hair best I can despite so much hair falling out all the time.

Suraiya Raiya: One thing I learned when I cut my hair to my shoulders is that when it grows out it will be better than ever, I had mid back length then cut to shoulders and because I cut so much all the dead and spilt ends got chopped off and now my hair is so much healthier

Alice B.: My mom, a hairdresser, triple check when's someone tells her they want to chop it off. She even undercuts and adjusts if they want more cut off. She knows how upsetting it can be to have it all cut off, she saw me cry my eyes off when my hair went from mid waist to barely shoulder length because my hair dresser thought it would look better on me short. We arent asking for your damn opinion, we told you what we want so listen.

Kaela Kiel: as a student in cosmetology it’s definitely being taught more to check multiple time’s throughout bc while we are professionals it’s always about how much you’re keeping on the head not how much you’re taking off. And having them touch and show exactly how much however many inches they want off is what they should get.

Klea Habibi: I've never been at a hairdresser, I don't trust them. My mom has really curly hair and I have curls too, and seeing the huge mistakes and damage they did to her hair just because most hairdressers in Italy don't know how to treat curly hair terrifies me. I just cut it myself and my mom also stopped going to hairdressers

GoneGirl: I 100% understand how she feels because a very similar thing happened to me. I had long hair with overgrown layers and told her to literally just give me a trim and freshen the layers up. She cut my hair significantly (Not as short as the video) but it was a full hair cut for sure like 3 to 4 inches gone. Also because I wear glasses, I had to take them off when she was cutting, so I couldn't really see what she was doing. I was so pissed. I think they do it so they can charge you for a cut and not a trim. It's so awful of them.

ThreeDogsInATrenchcoat: I mean depending on how many split ends, this really could've just been the "trim" but I hope you at least told them you didn't like it

Amanda Mathew: It looks beautiful actually it’s just shorter than you Imagined but it’s always good to have a new look and in all honesty it looks really pretty on you!

Laila Albasha: I’m so sorry that happened to you but you still look amazing! (Not everyone can pull off short and long hair) but I would also be devastated if someone cut all my hair that short

Maya🦌: This is what happened to me too. I went to get layers and the lady did good at first and then she came to the front of my face and cut a big chunck out of both side and the length is level to my chin even though I said don’t cut to much

Sakura Hana: it looks gorgeous and healthy! I love the layering in the front its going to look so good in a claw clip hair style!

Enakshi Adhikari: I can feel this... A few days ago I had knee length hair and asked just to trim a Lil bit to fix the shape and she cut like 1ft of my hair I was totally heartbroken still now I am

bella suh: i know this is obviously not what you wanted but i just want to assure you — you still look great as ever !! sure, it’s shorter than you would’ve liked but the length fits your head shape and the layers still look stunning on you! of course, i know you’re upset and you have every right to be but don’t feel too discouraged, you still look amazing :)

Kelli Anthony: IT LOOKS SO PRETTY! I’m not just saying that you look so cute and I’ve been wanting that haircut.❤❤❤ Remember, your hair grows back if you don’t like it and it looks amazing

Grace Leigh: Girl! I know that it might not feel like YOU rn, but trust me you look beautiful. Your layers and color is just gorgeous! It's okay <3

Abby Alexander: Girl this just happened to me a couple weekends ago. I was so pissed she didn’t even give me layers like I asked for. My hair was the same length that it was and we have to same length now.

Ain Syaza: I’ve always went to a very family friendly hairdresser for most of my life. Meaning everyone and their mom goes there for haircuts and the sorts. The lady always cuts the length that I’d want and never shorter or longer cause she’s known me since I was a kid. Cause she knows one unhappy kid/customer leaves everyone upset cause how annoying it is lol.

Theater nerd 🤪: It looks so much healthier. I think it’s beautiful, I know it’s shorter than you wanted but if you use hair growth masks it will be perfect, it’s still gorgeous

Nessa Campbell: It’s exactly looks REALLY GOOD ON YOU! but I understand us as women all want long hair. Sometimes when we do a drastic cut we think we’re ugly- but we’re not❤ you look so good! Keep your head up queen!

Mouldy: honestly this hairstyle really suits her and i personally prefer it, gives her more volume! but i understand that it can be quite a shock when it’s not what you wanted, i love my hairdresser but she has done similar things to me before and whilst others liked it i hated it because it wasn’t what i was expecting or wanting, you get used to the hair though

The Berroas: I get how you feel! I hate when this happens I cut my own hair now. ‍♀️

Hasty Hemn: She didn’t ruin your hair but she cut it too short but it looks great on you ❤

ThatArtsyBuni: Don’t worry girly your slaying! It could be way worse, I went to get my hair cut short and I swear to god that lady managed to give me a bowl cut without using a bowl and then charged $70

Amelia Arnold: That’s a pro tip queen. I haven’t trusted Anyone with my hair in 3 years- not even myself. I leave it alone. Besides brushing and washing regularly. Very rarely (once or twice a month I’ll use light heat) but no cuts besides myself taking professional sheers only to the ends just to dust or remove the obvious split ends but I don’t even take off a full inch. Coconut oil also helps a ton! Yeah queens quit with the hair dye and trusting strangers with your lox! Also quit trusting yourself with your lox. Just because you spent 50$ at sallys to buy some bleach , purple shampoo and toner does not mean you know what you’re doing!

Kylie Claire Emily: Don’t worry girl I went through the same thing with my hair and now I love it ❤

Snickers the Chinchilla: I asked for layers and a trim once with long hair. Left with like 4 inches off, yeah. So she washed my hair and holy cow, so many dead ends it was so bad. She cut off alot of hair but im grateful she did.

Idk._.asho.: In a hairdresser’s vocab a “trim” is to cut off dead/split ends, but he/she should’ve checked with you on the amount being cut off.

SoulPhosphenes: Same happened to me,,, Knowing from experience it really sucks. I asked my mom to bleach a strand of my hair,,, but she literally bleached half of my hair even though I specifically said don’t bleach more than one strand. People should really listen to the person who is getting their hair done, it’s not about what the person doing the hair wants.

Cecilia Beam: I think it looks beautiful and being bald from chemotherapy makes hair seem so unimportant in the perspective of things. You’re still beautiful with healthy, long and silky hair♥️ you may look back in the future one day and want this hair back, but I definitely understand when getting a haircut doesn’t go as planned and you feel stuck with the result but again, it looks so healthy and gorgeous

jinnieneutron: this happened to me too I asked for a trim and ended up getting like 8 inches shorter than i wanted and it was a high end salon. It’s upsetting even tho ik my hair grows fast + i did specify how much i wanted cut. it still ended up way shorter

lol: you look amazing! i’m so sorry they got rid of so much but i actually think it looks better than before

anonymous: i cut off 6 inches of my hair, and ever since i have absolutely hated my hair. stay positive! i know it takes long to grow but you got this!!

Gotchu Fam: Girl you look so good!!! If you’re sad because you think it looks bad in general then there’s nothing to be sad about since it’s awesome! If you think it looks bad on you I totally understand that. I suggest you sleep on it and try out new styles you’ve always wanted to try and just having fun with it! After that maybe you could try going to the hairdresser’s again for an inquiry so you could fix what you dislike about your current haircut yourself. Hope you feel better, you look absolutely stunning! I hope you feel that way about yourself again soon.✨

haru: I genuinely love the shorter hair on you…the layers! I know that isn’t what you originally wanted but it looks gorgeous and it’s my dream hair..

Farhat Parween: I can totally relate, I just got a haircut and the parlour artist destroyed my hair

Esmeralda Ibarra: Don't worry the same thing happened to me with my hairdresser and I was crying. But you still look gorgeous!!

Just Daisies: Truly the hairdresser messed up but you look fine! Except I would also cry if I had my hair that short after the long time of growing it

Random person Scrolling: I was in the same kind of situation. My hair was so long so pretty it went down a bit lower than my mid back. I went to the hair dresser because I needed to get the dead ends off and wanted to cut a little bit off. (I asked for about 3 inches because I wanted long hair still). I left the hair dresser with my hair a bit longer than my shoulders. I bawled so hard after.

Miau: I’ve had this before. I worked so hard growing out my hair and said I just wanted layers to get my hair cut to my shoulders. It looks pretty but I can understand where she is coming from.

Neige: I stopped trusting hairdressers a year ago when one of them ruined my hair by overbleaching whole of it to yellow after i asked for freaking highlights. Never giving a cent to a hairdresser.

Luke !: To be honest, and I know this is a little deep for a a social media pity party, but this video is a perfect example of the toxic beauty standards for woman set by men. This woman is so insecure and relies so much on the length of her hair that eventhough this haircut is still armpit length [which most woman just can't reach, and even if they can it's choppy with split ends galore], her self confidence is completely destroyed. Personally, I think it looks better cause it frames her face nicely and is obviously healthier now, but beauty standards don't care that hair is healthy [heck a lot of the time it doesn't even matter if it's your real hair] but the standard for woman is long hair and so many people are destroyed and crushed by the weight of these expectations. Sorry about my mini dissertation, just thought it was worth pointing out.

Emma Roberts: This has happened to me aswell and I felt so upset by it, but after the initial shock I started to really like it, I know you don't feel it now, but give it a chance it suits you and you have lovely healthy hair

shruti mishra: You look absolutely beautiful. I can totally relate to you, I cry everytime I come back from a salon because I feel they made it too short. But you should try new looks everytime, and now you will get healthier hair. Don't be upset. Just embrace the short hair phase.

Swimmer_ Things: I understand the same thing happened to me and I still haven't gotten over it. Your hair is obviously still gorgeous.

J H: Honestly you still look amazing!! It’s such a fresh look, you can rock it!

Lionblaze: That’s what happened to my best friend. She had insanely long hair and asked the hair dresser to cut it to mid chest. They ended up cutting it to her freaking chin. It literally broke her heart. People, especially freaking hairdressers, need to pay more attention

Genny Dzinakou: Everytime I try to grow my hair out, I go for a trim and they literally take inches off omg you still look great and we need to stop trusting these people w scissors

Amber Michael: The same thing happened to me last night when I went for a haircut, I've spent years growing my hair out after having a buzz cut and I asked for some nice layers but no, he decided to cut more than 7 inches off

alia: girl i know how you feel no matter how many ppl tell you it looks good you feel like you look horrible i just got mine cut and i was like just redefine my layers and bangs and cut to my shoulders and now i have no layers and my hair ends at my ears

sophee!: Poor girl! I would recommend finding one stylist that knows what they are doing with your hair, and before getting it cut to make sure that they can do it, so that this won’t happen again. I still think you look gorgeous!

Me my self and I: Girl, you have to remember everything happens for a reason, yea the hairdresser made a mistake but it kinda looks better from the beginning

Cola 2021: It’s so annoying when hairdressers do that! I had that happen to me once and I was devastated. You still look stunning tho!❤

Kyelater33: Shes super pretty with that style but I would be upset too if they cut it that short and I didn't ask them to. That's why I always specify I want like 2 or 3 inches cut off because I've had my hair cut almost to my shoulders when I asked for a "trim" Edit: my hair was past my waist at the time

Damla Acar: dont feel sad, this also happens to me when i get my hair cut. the first day its cut i hate my hair and then a few days later i start to like it, and your hair is just gorgeous

Indietimeeeeeee: BROO IT LOOKS SO GOOD. I WOULD DIE FOR HER HAIR✨

Mega Wooper: It's good that y'all are hyping her up about how it actually looks good on her, but that's still not the hair she requested. she has every right to feel bad about it.

Sophia Garcia: This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. My hair on one side is shorter than the other now. I just keep it in a bun cause the other side is longer. You can see that one side Is cut more than the other side. I'm sad that I couldn't notice when I was at the salon

Ariify: It’s ok! Your hair will grow back quickly if you take care of it. And it still looks really nice!

mpearsewatches: i know exactly how you feel. I have short hair and i was growing it out but it was uneven so i had to get the littlest taken off. she didn’t listen on how i was growing it out and cut it to the shortest hair i’ve ever had. al i can say is that you are beautiful.

MiaSara M: Same thing happened to me a month ago, and I still cry about it.

Waffles33: I relate. I had really long hair basically reaching my waist and now it’s half the length and I was so sad when my hairdresser cut it that short

itsrealliyah: I remember this happened to me when I was younger like 8 or 9 and my hair was down to my butt, like it was really long for my age because nobody thought it was my real hair. Anyway, I was at the Dominicans getting an trim and she cut half of my hair off saying “it was my fault” like girl what.. I’m 8 or 9 years old, how was it my fault?. It grew back though, but many people tried to cut my hair off before and after‍♀️. (I cried for like 2 days over my hair)

HoneyPot: There’s an adjustment period with shorter hair. Once you learn how you like to style it at this length, everything will be fine. Your hair will grow back with time and care, it looks beautiful on you even if it wasn’t what you wanted

LA: When you tell them to trim it and don’t give a specific length to trim it to they’re going to automatically cut the split and broken ends off and then blend the layers. that’s not the hairdressers fault; inform yourself beforehand

wisco2006: This happened to me. I told the lady to just trim the ends, less than 2 inches. I left with around 10 inches gone. Honestly made me insecure for like over a year.

maydaymaybank: They consider THAT A TRIM??!! Either way, you still look really good with your hair that length!

lucarinz: This happens to me too. I ask for a trim, they ask me "how much", I say "an inch", they end up lopping off 4 inches. Its infuriating.

Artemis: I know how she feels a stylist once did the same to my hair now I'm scared to go to a salon again.

Angel Kauffman ⟭⟬ ⟬⟭: I'm so sorry that happened to you but don't worry you still look gorgeous!❣ (that happened to me too, I remember asking for a small trim of my ends and she cut off four whole inches without my knowledge)

scuba tuba: Bro calm down I’ve had my hair melted all the way off before by hair stylists, you are fine. It’s still long, looks healthier and the layers look good‍♀️

orion: It looks very good tho! I know that you are upset but it may even grow out faster... don't hyperfixate on it cuz it's gonna grow anyway, you're just wasting time being negative and it doesn't even look bad, it looks great on you! i used to hate getting my ends done cuz i didn't want my hair to be even one inch shorter, but now i can cut a lot of it and not feel bad. healthy hair is beautiful hair!

SprinkleYeonjung: this happened to me literally yesterday . same lengths as hers before and after :,) i feel her pain

Madalina Butnariu: I learned that some hairdressers are jealous of long and beautiful hair so they fuck it up on purpose. This happened to me also back in October. I'm very sorry this happened to you, I also cried a river when it happened. I loved my long hair, made me feel like a princess

Delfina Chavez: This length looks cute blown out! I’m near the same length as you too rn and had to cut 3+ inches off this past weekend too because a lady last year over processed my hair :(

Linda Love: I feel your pain, my hairdresser did the same two years later and still growing it out

adriann: i know it upsets you a lot and what ur hairdresser did was so far from what you wanted, it’s okay! you’re more than your hair, especially since it grows back :)

alba avrora: similar thing happened to me too.. i hope you know that you are so so gorgeous either way!!! i got used to my too short hair in a couple of weeks, i hope you will get used to yours too :) i always remind myself that at the end of the day it is just hair, and noone's worth depends on their hair!! and it will grow back of course, so please don't worry, you're just as beautiful and worthy as before <3

Snails are chewy: I feel you I had my hair few centimetres longer than you and the hairdresser cut it all, looks like your after. It was horrible thank god this happened 3 years ago so now my hair is all grown and longer than ever
