I’ve been so EXCITED, but also dreading to test out this tiny curling wand! Excited because I think these curls are SO FUN and pretty, but dreading because I know it’s going to take me HOURS to do! The volume that these curls give…WOW..., it’s unreal, and reminds me of how I wore my hair a bunch in High School! COMMENT BELOW if I should wear my hair like this more often!

For this hairstyle, I’m using a 0.5 inch barrel to curl ALL my hair. Then, I’m wrapping each strand in smaller sections away from my face. I’m cheating the roots more UP and towards my face, and I don’t want the curls to also go that direction as well. This gives more fullness and volume on top to get a natural look opposed to it looking flat and fanning out.

This is honestly such a great curly hairstyle and really fun for anyone looking to change their hair up every once in a while. I think everyone should try it... worst case, at least you get a GREAT arm workout!

Hey everyone, I'm Mindy from Cute Girls, Hairstyles and today we are filming a hair video.. It'S probably gon na. Take me like two hours to film, because I don't know if you guys have seen this trend going around, but it's the trend, curling, your hair, with the tiny teeny tiny. I think it's like a half-inch barrel. And I have a good amount of hair, which is this is funny because I didn't, I don't think I used a half-inch barrel growing up, but I probably was using a three-quarters and I used to do this in my hair. All the time in high school., It was like the thing to do., So this is gon na just be like flashing back to my roots kind of., But it does take a while so prepare yourself., ( upbeat, music, ). Okay, I already put Hairitage by Mindy Heat Protectant in my hair and let it air dry so that I am ready to go., And today I am going to be using .... Hairitage doesn't have a wand in its repertoire, and it also does not have anything. This small., So today I am using not Hairitage hot tool., We're gon na heat this up.. This is a half-inch barrel and we are going to just be curling. Like crazy., I mean you know how it's gon na start. We're gon na separate the hair.. I think the fun part about this is just seeing A how short your hair gets but B like what looks like when it's in tiny little ringlet-y curls.. So it's all heated up. That was nice and quick.. I'Ve already put the heat protectant in., I'm just gon na take the wand and wrap it around., I'm just I am gon na leave a little piece off the ends., But man you can see the difference in the length there.. I lose a good solid. Six. Eight inches of length by doing that., ( upbeat music, ). Okay, I did decide. I wanted to curl the ends a little bit more than I was so I went back and tweaked those just a smidge.. Also, I essentially am gon na be always curling them away from my face., So I don't want them going forward. I want them all going. Back. (, upbeat music ). I just try to take like a segmented piece, try to separate it all and then wrap it.. I don't hold it very long., It's just more of a time than anything.. It'S just a factor of time, because you know there's a lot of hair on this head. ( upbeat music, ) Dude. This is a workout, an arm workout. Layer, one of many. Yikes. Halfway through layer, two. Still have this side to do.. I actually have been dreading filming this hairstyle this video, because I knew this was gon na take forever and be such a beast to film on my arms and my time.. I hope it turns out semi-cute and I don't have to just like wash my hair tonight., So you can see literally I'm just taking really small sections., I'm always wrapping away from my face. Wrap it wrap it wrap it. And then I kind of twist at the Top to make sure I get as close to my head as possible. And then literally just kind of letting it slip off the wand when I'm done., Okay, I've got, I think three layers done. We're gon na go. Bailey's in the car. She and Dakota. I almost said Asa are filming a video.. We'Re gon na go see what Bailey thinks of the do. This hair.. What do you think? I think it looks good.? It needs to be combed out. Don'T you think, [ Mindy ], You can't comb it out. Yeah! You get the big puffy, curls. [, Mindy ]. This is the big puffy curls.. No, no! You comb them. Out. [, Mindy ], No way dude. Yeah, you do., That's the point. [ Mindy ] Mine would be like this big.. That'S the point. [ Mindy ] No. Yeah.. I feel like this is the point in the video where you're always wondering what on earth you're doing'cause this hair just doesn't look right.. You know it's so curly., It's so tight.. We haven't really like zhuzhed, it yet. And so you're kind of like''. This is not gon na turn out. Well.'' We're gon na see., ( upbeat music ), And it's not quite as long on this side like up top ,'cause. I have layers, so that's good too'cause. It'S not taking quite as long to curl them, all. (, upbeat, music, ) And I know Bailey said they were too perfect FYI.. She said I need to separate a few of them., Which is true, but I'm not gon na. Do that until the end., I want them to set. We're getting there.. I think this is gon na, be this layer and this layer, I think, is gon na, be my last.. So we're getting there. These front pieces, I'm just making dang sure I over-direct them as much as possible., So that they really fall forward and hang in my face. ( upbeat music, ) Trust the process guys., I'm trying to. I'm trying to trust the process.. I think it'll turn out fine.. I think it's gon na look really cute.. It'S just you know. It looks a little different before it looks finished., Especially when you're not used to this tight, a curl. ( upbeat music, ). Okay, here we are so far the last layer finished. Think the key on these top curls is to really get down in the root like as tight as you can as close to that root and really try to stretch. You're over-directing that root. So you get that, like volume at the top that, like down at that ( trills tongue, ) down at the root., Get right down next to the root and you can see right there. I have like an inch. So watch what I do.. I roll this down. Tighter until it's right against my head., I'm not burning my head or anything like that, but it's tight. So see. Do you see how that now ( trills tongue, ) pops up.? When you flip your hair, that's gon na make it look a lot more natural than if it's like flat against your head. ( upbeat, music, ) Intentionally over-directing towards my forehead., Like I don't know if you can see that, but I'm pulling towards my forehead. So these curls are laying farther forward that make sense Like instead of laying back like this like the way I'm over-directing them is so they'll curl and lay like in my face, which is what I want.. I want it to be big and full, and in my face., So it's really important over-direct. See how I'm pulling it towards my face and I'm really telling that curl exactly where I want it to lay. ( upbeat, music, ), Yes, yes.! That is what we want.. Those little curls right in the front'cause when separate those out that's gon na be golden. On this left side, a little trickier'cause. If I hold my wand, where it's natural for me to hold it it's pointing the wrong direction. So I'm having to really stretch my arm up and over.. I suppose you could switch arms, but I'm not left-handed, so that feels even weirder to me.. So I'm just gon na do it this way., But you can see over-directing and then move the arms into position. So it lays where I want it: better. ( upbeat music, ), Okay from here these are too perfect.. I agree with Bailey.. So what we wan na do is just kind of like go under here and you start kind of working at the top and you just separate.. I don't know if I'll separate all of them. - Probably not because some of them are very small., But I'm gon na separate enough of them that they don't look quite so perfect.. You can sometimes see like on this curl. You see how it's kind of naturally wanting to separate right there, anyway. So I'll, just separate it, and then you can just give it a re-twist.. This is what I do with Paisley's hair. When I do twist outs. You just kind separate them and then re-twist them into place. And it's just gon na add volume and fullness. As you separate off those curls. And you oftentimes, you can find a little spot that you want to separate anyway., (, upbeat, music, ), Okay, see the difference in the way it looks.. This side looks like a little more just not quite so perfect. I guess is the ideal., Not quite so perfectly curled just'cause we're kind of separating and stretching some. And don't be afraid to work underneath'cause. I can go underneath and feel where there are curls that are still like a thicker piece of curl, chunked together. And then we're gon na take texture spray.. Yes, texture, spray.! Yes, yes, yes.! You can see the difference, this side versus this side. And now I'm gon na go and do this side and then I'm gon na even fluff it more. - And here is the final look guys.. What do you think? It'S just so fun and different and kind of like sassy for a night out or a special event, or something that you wanted to go to.. I think it's really fun. Totally bringing me back to high school flashbacks. Again I'll, put up the picture'cause, it's so funny.. ( upbeat music, )
