Hello party people um, it is a raining and windy outside as you come in. If you hear stuff, i'm gon na give people a chance to come in um today, um i'm trying something different for this live broadcast. So um hello to everybody, that's coming in give me a two. If you can hear me, okay, um today, i'm doing something a little different, because i am showing my appreciation so right now we have it set up where only um subscribers can comment. So you can only comment if you're subscribed. So if you want to comment - and you can't comment then just make sure you're subscribed okay, but i do have some surprises for you, but i just want to ask everybody how they're doing how are you doing? How are you feeling yay? Thank you, i'm so glad everybody can hear me. How is everybody doing so? I do have a code for you hold on add in the code so today um. I want to show my appreciation to you and i want to have a conversation today, um, because i talked to one of my really really good friends the other day and um. She was telling me that, like it's just been hard for her and her daughter to find a hairstylist, oh you're, watching from ohio, hey my mama from ohio, you fix this camera hold on okay, um, so she's been telling. She ended up telling me the conversation that we had. She was telling me that she's having a hard time finding the hair, stylist and i haven't been doing hair for like two one or three years, probably longer than that like over three years, and she said that she cannot find the hairstylist, because most cosmetologists no longer Shampoo hair, like basically, she booked a silk press, but she had to come in with her hair already shampooed and blow dry. Give me a two, no everybody's already giving me a two. Give me a four. Oh thank you. Give me a four if you've experienced that give me a four and i'm not judging nobody. I just we gon na talk about it, i'm not judging nobody, i'm not saying i think it's right or wrong, but give me a four if you have experienced a hairstylist recently that has told you that she don't shampoo hair and you need to come with your Hair shampoo and blow dry and oil and for the silk press. So so far one two three, oh my god: it's water, okay, okay, okay, so wow. So this is very interesting because for me a silk press is done during the blowout like if i ever. If i had a client that booked a silk press with me - and she was like - oh well - i i already washed and blow dry, my own hair, i'm going to wash her hair again, because my silk pressing process is not about my products. It'S about my technique. So i would never go on top of somebody else's product because the way you blow out your hair, the products - you add, that's crazy to me so for the people who gave me a four: what what city and state are you in or what state are you In if you don't want to tell your city so as i'm waiting for you guys to answer that question, i just want to tell you guys really quick, that um to show my appreciation from our last seven day challenge i'm going to show you um one of My members results um in a pretty short time frame. Um, i'm going to show you her results or whatnot, but i want to give you guys a 25 off discount on my entire store, so this is going to be for ebooks for um coaching. If you need to book a one-on-one coaching session with me, this is my way of saying: merry christmas girl merry christmas, all right, so the code is thank you, 21, but soon you guys will see that cold pop up. That code is gon na pop up periodically. Through this live so just make sure you keep your eyes open for it, so we have philadelphia mission if they doing that in the will. Okay, don't get mad at me when i say this, but what part of michigan like where, where coaching? Please? Yes, so the the coaching it is it'll be so my entire store, my entire store, including coaching so, but i do want to say this call will not last longer than 24 hours if we even do 24 hours all right, because i do i love you all. So much but i work real hard. You want to have a real [, __ ], but i love y'all and y'all have been. Oh, my god, like just the response from the challenge. The last time and the response with you know our last several ebooks. I love you guys so much so 25 off 25 percent off my one-on-one coaching book, a one-on-one coaching session with me, 25 off all my ebooks 25 off my new seven day challenge baby. We ain't here, whatever you need to do. We gon na make your dreams come true. Okay, you love my content. Thank you! Oh and then before we move along all of the members um all of the members to my youtube channel, you guys make sure you go check the members platform, because on guru 101, they had a live coaching session, where a bunch of us got together on zoom And i have the replay for members and if you're on guru 101 and you didn't catch the live, because you know you were doing something, you would sleep or you wouldn't check your emails, then you can go on send out tv through your guru, one-on-one membership to Watch the replay and the replays almost two hours long. We had a lot of fun, all right so back to the stuff back to the stuff. Now one of the main reasons - and this is just my opinion - remember we having a conversation. So if you do not agree with me, say that we're gon na argue we've grown, we can have a conversation um. I believe, most of the reason why hairstylists are now. First of all, i don't want to say why hairstylists are now doing not doing shampoo and conditioner, because i do not believe that it's the og hairstylist that are just like you know what i changed my mind. I ain't shampooing, no more, i'm! No! Those are not og hairstylist, og hairstylist, that's been in a game for years on top of years on top of years, they're, just simply not stopping doing a blowout, because we understand that that is the majority of the job, so we're not stopping doing blowouts, and i Just believe in my heart sincerely and remember: we can talk. That'S what we're here, for. I really sincerely believe that the reason why most people most hairstyle is newer, hairstyles and when i say new, i'm talking uh anywhere from one to let's say like five six years in the game is something that i call new um. I still consider myself new year. Five you're six right um, so most of the most of those stylists are the ones that are like. No, i'm not washing your hair just coming here, but still charging a hundred dollars, and i feel like the main reason that that is happening is because social media has made a place where people don't respect hairstylists. So now stylists are kind of creating their own narrative because the normal narrative is being like, argued and combatted against so much so before i keep going, i need somebody even if it's just one person give me someone who has an opinion on why hairstylists are no Longer, shampooing hair, i'm very interested to know what you guys think, even if it's just one person, i'm really interested to know saying i please still catch the seven day challenge i'm recovering from surgery. That'S why i'm accident well, the seven day challenge it's no longer free! Now so i did the seven day challenge for free like three or four times, but it it's not free anymore. Now it's seven dollars a day, but it's only seven days, so you get charged one time 35 dollars and you move at your own pace. You'Re a part of um exclusive group where we talk and we ask what you can ask questions and for a month you can say a part of that group, while you're getting together. You know moving through your seven day challenge because even though it's a seven day challenge, normally it takes about 30 days for you to get into a system into a rhythm, so you're, a part of that group and you have access to me. It'S like a text message that comes to my phone. We were going to show it on zoom, but zoom's acting crazy today. So i'll show it to you on my phone in a second, but that is where the seven day challenge is. So you guys anybody that wants to do the seven day challenge which we'll talk about in a second anybody that wants to do the seven day challenge you guys just sign up through my website, like i said, seven dollars a day which equals 35 dollars all together. But with the code that we just listed here, you'll get 25 off of that for the next 24 hours. So if you really want to join the seven day challenge, then let's do it. I really challenge you guys when we're done uh, for you guys to check the community page and i'm going to show you the picture in a second. But i really want you to check the community page because you'll get a better view. I want to show you um someone who has gotten results and then, if you guys go join my free group, all of the information will be left in the description box below when this video is. But if you go check my free group, you can see the results from people who are still doing the seven day, challenge that have amazing results. I'M not blowing smoke um once you pay that 35. That is it you within the challenge, i'm not selling you anything! You can do the seven day challenge with the product that you already have in your home, especially if you are a product, junkie, yeah. So let me get to this okay, seeing some hairstylists in new york city say that they don't shampoo because they don't have access to a shampoo bowl. Okay, well we're gon na keep reading through the reasons but uh. If the reason that they ain't shampooing is because they don't got no shampoo ball girl, you need to go to somebody who got a shampoo. Lord help me. Oh, i will automatically think that the stylist wasn't licensed yeah, but my friend told me, like everybody that she was going to was a was licensed, can't wait for people to come up with new methods, so i don't rely on social media to grow a business. Well, don't get offended when i say that you know i'm straight no chaser, but that's like saying. I really can't wait for people to stop using light bulbs and to just go back to using candles. Like that's, never gon na happen. The world is constantly changing and so social media first off, if you, if you do it right, social media is one thing and marketing is another thing. I didn't get clients off instagram. No, my my my clientele and my client base did not come from social media. My branding and marketing stood alone. Social media is for fads. Social media is for vanity metrics only and anybody who, unless you selling like a big, a big product and you're doing promo, with like big big brands and celebrities. Social media is not the way that you grow business, but to say that you, you wanted everything to go back to the way that it used to be soon. We gon na have cars like spaceships. There'S never gon na be a time where you'll be able to do anything and that's not just hair. That'S with any business a doctor a lawyer. Anybody, like everybody, needs some type of social media platform. If you, whatever business, you insist or bro, i don't know if you were male or female whatever business you're in nobody is picking up the yellow pages. No more to find you nobody's doing that, no more um. We would like to think that word of mouth is the normal route that people go, but it's not people don't normally do word of mouth now. People want to see what you got. People need a visual representation of what you have because before you can have a business card and then they will see your name on a business card, listen to what somebody else got to say and then take a chance. Now people don't have to gamble. Now you can own your own platform, just like youtube youtube. My youtube channel. I do not own my youtube channel youtube owns youtube. That'S why it's www.youtube.com! I am sendout right. I don't own this platform on the internet, youtube does, but my website www.sensmith.guru i own and everything on there. Every email address on there i own. So i grew. You grow your own personal platform using social media. That'S how it has to go. Excuse me, so you got to work out your techniques. Please don't say that you, you really wish that you can go back to wear out social media to grow a business, because it's not gon na happen. Where how can you grow a business without social media where, when people only look to spend money on social media like and yeah, there are still people who are like? Oh, who do your hair wear them out, but even after they actually do your hair, they want to know if they got an instagram if they got a youtube, if they got something where they can have a visual representation of your work. So i need everybody to get out of that. There'S no new method like like this is such this is social media. You, wouldn't you wouldn't know who i was and be able to have this conversation with me with all social media. So, look at you been watching and learning for a year, i'm in the og game and i cannot get with don't understand it and will not understand it because it's time consuming shampooing is not time consuming, and this is the thing and i'm i'm sorry hairstylist - that They don't shampoo before it's so pressed. The easy part is the flat iron. The hard part is the blowout, and the blowout is the most important part and it's time consuming. That'S why you get paid for your time. I don't understand okay and we about to move on cause, i'm good, i'm confused. Well, i think women who are braiders can't wash hair because they aren't licensed too some cosmetologists are just lazy. There you go now braiders, i'm not. I don't have nothing to say, because the braider's license is different from a cosmetology license. Thank you for saying that babe um. I am specifically talking about cosmetologists cosmetologists. They do not shampoo hair. That'S what i'm talking about! I'M not talking about braiders because braiders and some hairstyles, so i'm not i'm not talking about y'all it's about getting as many customers as fast in and out all about the money so skip the watch now. Okay, so i i don't: okay, don't get mad at me when i say this and you you, i you i i don't. I can't confirm that that's right, but can we can we normalize not saying oh we're hairstylist, it's all about the money, i'm sorry! What exactly is it supposed to be about? That'S her job like it's, not a hobby, it's your job! So for you, if you're an accountant, why else are you at work, if not for the money? Like what other reason, and like everybody answer this, like i'm so serious, this is not a rhetorical question. Everybody answer this. If why do y'all go to work, if not for the money, i'm sure you want to help people? Maybe you have a profession where you want to help people and stuff like that? But what reason are you at work? Do you get up every morning and go to work if it if it's not to make money, that's not a rhetorical question. I want. I want that answer and can we normalize not saying that like and i'm not attacking you, i'm just saying like wha? What other reason do you have to go to work? What other reason do they have to? Oh, they only ended for the money he's like what else is a hairstyle supposed to be there, for? What am i supposed to be there for the smell of the blow dry, the sound of the sizzle of the flat on when the hair spray hit it like? What are we supposed to be there for i'm not being a smart ass? I'M serious, i'm not posting a picture of my professional work only to get my account banned. I don't know where that came from, but and your account oh okay - and this is the thing this is the thing and i'm i'm not i'm not knocking you, but depending on how bad you want something, there are different sacrifices that you have to make. So if i agree with you 100, if, if you have all of these stipulations, the things that you're not gon na do and stuff that you don't wan na, do and don't wan na be on social media, don't wan na post your work and stuff like this. It'S like, then, you may not want it that bad, because let me tell you something: i work to build one you one instagram channel up to a hundred and like 45 40 45, 47 000 uh uh followers on instagram just to get it disabled right then built It back up, and now i have a page to set a hundred and eight thousand, but it is what it is, and it's it's a constant thing just like here on youtube how many youtube channels do you see with millions of followers or with a like this One he has like a million um subscribers, but he has videos that don't get past ten thousand views, it's all about how bad you want it. Just like you got ta move up ladders in corporate america and you got ta. You know start at the bottom and work your way up in corporate america. It'S the same thing with the hair industry and a thing that comes with the hair industry is stuff that you deal with with social media people. Stealing your work, but it's a matter of how bad you actually want it, because the hair industry is a stepping stone. So if, if you don't, if you have a problem, posting your work and doing the whole social media thing, then it may not be something that you want, but i will say wholeheartedly: oh baby, it's worth it it's worth all of it, but it just depends on How how bad you want it, how hard you're willing to go, and if you, if that's how you feel, then i mean, i guess i agree with you. It'S not for you, word of mouth is still the best method. No, it's not babe. How? How long have you been doing um hair? What'S your name, demetria k, i hope i said your name wrong right. How long have you been doing here because you sound like you real, like well-rounded, and what? What is your like? Because how many clients do you do in a day? Because no it's not no, that's not true, because, even even with your word or mouth people can tell somebody about you too, you blew in the face. I don't know how many times i've had clients sit in my chair and they pick me over another stylist that they friends told them about because they went on their friend pages and couldn't find a friend nowhere on social media when they did. It was a couple pictures of their kids and a couple pictures of other stuff. Like you just got to be realistic. You cannot tell me that a hairstylist with with no social media, following whatsoever with no social media platform, no website, no, no, no website, no instagram. No, facebook, no youtube no form of social media period. You cannot tell me that she make the same amount of money as a hairstylist that got 300 000 subscribers or a hundred thousand followers or 50 000 followers. You'Re, not gon na. Tell me that like because it's not true they do. Am i saying that you don't make money? No, i'm not saying that. Am i but you you do not make the same amount of money. I'Ve been doing here for 14 years. That'S it's not true! That'S not! It'S not true, i'm sorry, it's just not. Where should i go to get a trim scene love the look by the way back. Thank you, um. I would for everybody. I would look and just really really take your time and find a stylus in your area that trims hair and i mean worst case scenario. You can't find nobody straighten your own hair, straighten your hair blow dry, your hair and flat iron. It even if you do it on the lowest heat and then go in like a super cuts and say i want a trim just to trim and they'll. Do it, but straight in your hair, do not let anybody cut your hair with period. I don't care what they say. I don't care how many youtube videos you see: don't let nobody cut your hair with if you have curly, hair you're so informative. Oh, thank you remember you guys. I have 25 off my entire store, so make sure you go over there up my braid prices because of shampoo and blow out now i don't have a problem with that. If she's a brighter she's a braider she's, not a hairstylist, so she only there she's a braider. She only there to braid your hair, so i'm not mad at a braider for saying: hey come with your hair washed and blow-dried. Then don't get mad at me. When i say this, the reason that most braiders and i am not mad at them, first of all, people do not pay braiders enough. That'S first thing. Second thing: um, a braider job is to braid your hair, and a lot of women will come in to see a braider and ain't wash their hair in six months. I'Ve seen it with my own two eyes. There are a lot of women who will take a weave down and just take the weave out still have braids in her head from a weave and her hair ain't been washed in six months, and then she want the braider to take the braids out detangle, her Hair clarify her scalp blow dry. I mean yeah clarify her scalp, give her a clarifying shampoo blow dryer hair trimmer in she's, a braider a braider. So i'm i'm not mad at a braider for saying, come with your hair shampooed and blow dry and mind you most people don't even want to pay a grade or more than a hundred dollars. So it's like you want her to put a hundred braids in your hair and wash and and i'm not saying everybody's like that. I know there are a lot of people who who, who like dang like i i would wash my own hair or my hair - is not going to be dirty. But i did hair for 14 years and the majority of women that come in for weaves or braids and stuff like that. They'Ll come in with a weave in their head, that's been in there for six months or they haven't washed their hair in four months and then they come in to get their hair done. That'S just the honest to god. Truth - and i know a lot of people are not going to admit to that, but yeah anybody who do anything to your body should be licensed period, because i need y'all to keep in mind when it comes to a licensed braider, depending on the state um like In nevada, getting a braider's license is like getting a health card, they more so worried about sanitation, they're, not they're, not trained the way a cosmetologist or a hair. Stylist is trained, there's a difference between a hair, stylist and a cosmetologist. Those are two completely different licenses. Two completely different licenses: a hairstylist is exactly what it sounds like. A hair, stylist and a cosmetologist works on your body from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. Yo cosmetologist can be a esthetician uh eyebrow tank, a makeup artist, a nail tech, uh hairstylist, which most cosmo choose all right, uh braider she can be whatever she want to be versus a hairstylist depending on your state in the state of nevada. A hairstylist cannot touch chemicals, they cannot do relaxers, they can't do haircuts, they can only shampoo blow dry and flat iron and braid. That'S it and do weaves other than that they cannot do any type of chemical services. So y'all need to be cautious of the people that y'all booking don't just go to somebody because they got a bunch of followers figure out what what license they hold and it's your right to ask your stylist what type of license you have. I have no problem with some people asking me like hey, you know what what is what? What is your qual? What is your, what is your license? Are you a licensed cosmetologist? I have no problem saying that, because guess what it's on the wall y'all need to pay attention by law, if there are licensed cosmetologists or a licensed hair stylist, they got to have it on a station. So just look just go book a consultation and just check real, quick and just look and see. Do it say license hairstyles, do i say licensed cosmetologists or does it say, licensed writer and then make your decision based on that you probably shouldn't be booking triple double process: hair color with somebody that excuse me that only has a braider's license. You all need to pay attention to stuff like that. Thank you. Thank you, because i need money. I got bills right. That'S why everybody goes to work. That'S why everybody goes to work. There'S! No other reason. Thank you. Thank you. There'S no other reason to to go to work. That'S what i mean like. Can we please stop saying that, like oh hairstylist, only care about the money? What else do you care about on your job? What else are you there for that's her job she's, not there for fun, hell yeah, she care about the money. What else is she supposed to care about? Sprinkles? What you did for the who you about to go to work on you think she go to work to to listen to who you about to twerk on when your hair get done. Girls are right here, girl, i'm a braider, but i got ta like thank you. Candice for sharing that you said, i'm a braider, but i got a license, so i could shampoo hair because i still press, i got more clientele and clientele. My clientele appreciates the shampoo. Thank you so much for sharing that from a licensed braider. She was saying that she had to go back and get licensed, so she could shampoo. Hair braiders are not licensed to shampoo your hair, that's not their job, so don't get mad. If a braider requires you to come with your hair braided, because that's not her job. She'S, a braider, not a hairstylist, just that's something y'all got ta know i'm just saying it's the law. Technically she gon na get in trouble if stable come in and all she got is a braided license and she shampooing your hair and giving you a blow out. She gon na get in trouble thanks, they're straight up lazy and want the path of least resistance, but these are the stylists that y'all booking all i've never met a stylist that don't shampoo unless she was just a braider. Now i don't mean it like that. Just a braider like a - i don't mean it like that, but unless she was a braider i never i don't. Where are these girls coming from out? The unicorn can girl? I haven't had a license in a while, but i'm a public relations practitioner - okay, so yo industry and the hair industry are two completely different things. That'S why i asked that cuz, i'm gon na take the word of a friend or a family over something but you're. Just one person, though you're you're, very small percentage of people, the majority are off social media you're, probably like you're, probably like in the five percent you're, probably like in the five percent, and i'm not saying i'm not saying that people take social media over what they Friends and family say, but they friends, your friends and family, most likely you listening to them, but your friends and family found that person on social media. That'S what i'm saying yeah. You got the referral, but you got it down the grapevine. Your friend that told you about her found her on social media know that that's what i'm saying a couple pictures of their kids, i'm just saying if i see a client with beautiful hair that would convince me more, the social media will yeah. But once again you are in a very small, very very small majority, like a small unit about 80 20 you're in the 20 percent, baby 20 and proof of that half of the world been put in wick rights, booboo wick rice in their hair because of social Media everything that black women do to their hair is because of social media. Youtube is a form of social media, so we cannot say that y'all would take. The word of your friend, more than y'all, would take something from social media when everybody is in the situation that they in because of the fads that they've been following from youtubers, which are social media influencers. So i don't it just it's just not adding up that! That whole scenario it just doesn't it's not adding up salad, shall also care for the clients here. Just so i mean i listen. 100. Let me be very clear. Just in case you came in late, i'm not on the side of women, uh cosmetologists that don't shampoo hair. Let me say publicly that i think y'all dusty as hell. Okay, these women be coming in there funky okay, some of these will be about. Oh you better, shampoo, your hair girl, you know chin, chimp or hair. She probably sprays some dry shampoo on her hair and you got eight clients in the day ain't. None of them. You ain't, shampoo. Nobody! Here everybody did they hair at home, so they all got outside products outside combs and brushes that they probably ain't even washed. Okay and you doing everybody's hair, that's coming from outside sources that you didn't sanitize yourself using the same combs and brushes that you don't even sanitize until the end of the day, it's dusty as hell. If you ask me i'm just saying so, let's be clear, i am not saying that i support stylists that don't shampoo cosmetologists, they don't shampoo braiders, that ain't, your job, sis, i don't got nothing to say certain hairstyles, depending on what you serve, what you service. Do your thing cosmo, you dusty, you doing the silk press. They got ta come with their hair shampooed and blow dry. You dusty! I'M just saying i don't care you dusty, because the work is done with the blowout, so how anyway uh i just wan na be clear. Okay, there we go beauty bar. Yes, that's why people thank you. This is what i need i want to, because i haven't been doing hair for three years, so the whole shampoo thing has came after that. So i'm going to read this one really quick and then i'm going. Actually, i want to let everybody know that it's just coming in that this is an appreciation, live, so make sure that you are checking the links um that are being left inside, of the chat, giving you your 25 off code and you get 25 off. All of my services, like all of my um online coaching, the seven day, challenge all my ebooks everything 25 off. Oh, that was gross, oh with the call thank you 21 and the code with the exact you know typing in all of that stuff. I keep like hiccuping and burping at the same time, all of that is going to be left down here within the chat you guys so make sure you're constantly checking i'm going to put it up there in a second myself again, okay, beauty by michelle, said. Yes, i don't even need these glasses right now, because my eyes still um. Yes, that's why people aren't shampooing people nowadays, don't wash their hair for months. They come in scalp smell, so bad makes you want to throw up grease dirt and build up all in their scalp okay. So i am not going to argue with that, because i'm not going to argue with that, because i've had clients. I remember, is this one client specifically and i'm going to repost the video, but i'm going to blur her face out completely, so you can see what i'm talking about and she came in for a still press but had not washed her hair in six months. Not only has she not washed her hair in six months she put rice water on her scalp every day. The smell of this woman's hair was so horrific and she wanted a suppressed and the thing is i ca. I can't really i i can understand that, because i've experienced it before my only thing is i i would still wash their hair. I could understand you saying: come with your hair, already shampooed and blown and blown out, but for me that would just be a pre-wash, because i need the the way that i flatter on hair. I need to blow out the hair myself. You know so so that's why. That is why i think it's really dusty. Just for you to be like i i'm like come with your hair, already washed and shampooed i can understand like for me. I used to have policy and procedure, and i just one i'm just making a suggestion if there's anybody in here that don't shampoo here. For that reason, i want to make a suggestion. This is what i used to do. Get policy and procedure right and in your policy and procedure, make it so that people cannot come with dirty hair. I would literally have in my policy and procedure that if they had not washed their hair within the last month, then they need to have their hair shampoo before they come and when i say shampoo i didn't mean, like i wasn't going to do it. I meant you need to have the gunk and the mess and the nastiness and the caked up butter, and so i completely agree 100 and that's why i wanted to talk about it because i'm like is, are people just being dusty and lazy, or is this a Manifestation of what i was talking about years ago, because in the video where i first stopped doing hair, i told y'all that i was getting tired because i i started feeling like i was no longer a hair stylist and i was more like a nanny. You know what i'm saying or like a maid servant or or a janitor, because women would come in, like i wash my hair in eight months, but it's your job, it's your job to clean up after me, but it's like no. This is not like. My job is not to sanitize a scalp that hasn't been washed in six months. There is not one page in the cosmetology book, not one question on a cosmetology test that tells you how to deal with a scalp that hasn't been washed in six months, because the people who wrote the book they never even made that or thought in their head. That that's a scenario that women would deal with. So if that is the reason i understand 100. If that is the reason, but i think to take away the dustiness that i said that you was earlier, if you guys could find a way to just have a policy to say, have your hair clean before you get here like when you go into a doctor's Office, it's certain certain places that have certain policy like hey. You can't come in here smelling like that. You can't come in here. Looking like that and to me the problem is people think that their hairstyle is work for them. So if a hairstylist says oh, this is my policy and procedure. It'S a problem, but i think that that's an extreme to go to to say: okay, let's cut out all of our professionalism, because people don't want to sanitize themselves, no have policy and procedure, because then that makes you gross because you you you put in your tools And cones and brushes on hair they that you think is washed and cleansed, oh yeah. Yes, that's why people aren't shampooing. Nowadays, people don't wash their hair for months. Oh, i got that already it's because they cheaper, but you get what you pay for. It'S because they're, cheaper, okay, i've heard that too so you're saying that the people who don't who the? If, if basically you say if you have to wash your own hair, the price is cheaper. Give me a two: if that's true and then, if that's the case, then okay, true, i wash hair, but i ask people to come detangle because people will come in with their hair matted, but but you but you, but don't you brush your teeth before going to The dentist - hey - hey, oh beauty, hey girl, imma cut my sunflower light on oh girl. Oh girl, girl, hey that's some excu put tell your kids go like this. That'S some [ __ ] right there. That'S some [, __ ] right there. Every cosmetologist! You need to have that on your stuff, because women have a problem washing their hair before they go to the stylist, but everybody brush their teeth before they go to the dentist you going in to go, get your teeth clean, but you make sure you brush the Hell out of your teeth and your tongue and you floss before they all in your mouth, but then, when you go get your hair done. You just magically assume that we want to smell that. That is not a part of a cosmetologist job description. There is not one part on state board that teaches you how to deal with a client whose hair sticks. Nothing, that's not a part of our job description. There is nothing in a cosmetology book, not one question on our state board exam that tells you how to cleanse a scalp that has not been washed in seven or eight months, nothing. That is not a part of a cosmetologist's job description. It is not that's not regular. Maintenance of your body is your job. That'S your job, not a cosmetologist, sorry, but and a lot of people don't want to hear that because they think like they think like. Oh, if you do hair, that's your job. This is what you're supposed to do. No, it's not that's, not a part of our job description. A cosmetologist job description is not to clean nasty stuff. That'S it's not it! It'S not! I'M sorry hold on y'all. Thank you. Cutie boy, yes, i have all my husbands with mine. This is just water. You guys remember. This is an appreciation live, so i'm giving you guys. 25 off. All of my services off my one-on-one coaching, make sure you're checking below for that 25 off code. It will only last for 24 hours and then that will be it. I have never done 25 off everything and i've never ever given a discount on my coaching services, and i do not know if i'll do it again so make sure you take advantage. You literally have to have social media. Now it's not like before. No it's not, but this is the thing it's been that's been shifting forever, like i started dealing with that. Well, for my dad, okay, today's my dad's birthday by the way this morning was kind of rough, but um january 7th will make eight years since my dad's been gone and word of mouth stopped being that deal and social media started taking over the year before my Dad passed away so for nine years. This is what it's been it's like period and that's when i tell people like whenever. Oh i'm gon na go to cosmetology school, so start when you're in cosmetology school. The first thing you need to be doing, while you're in cosmetology school, is working on your brand and your social media presence. One of my favorite examples is the destiny sister uh decided boone is what i call her. So i'm pretty sure i said her name wrong and boone was on youtube and she got a crap load of subscribers before she graduated cosmetology school right. So she was building her clientele. While she was in cosmetology school, they were watching her journey as she was getting out of school, so everybody that wants to get into the cosmetology field. You got to think of yourself as the consumer. Nobody cares that you good at doing hair and i'm telling you something that i had to learn as a licensed cosmetologist. So i'm not being disrespectful. I'M telling you something that i had to learn from myself. Nobody cares about how good you are with a flat iron. Don'T nobody care about how good you are with a pressing comb? Don'T nobody care about how good you are with braids. You know why, but every every year there are over 30 000 new hairstylists and new cosmetologists that graduate all around the world every year. So you are a needle in the haystack and until you find something to separate yourself and to put yourself out there, you are not going to stand out. So everybody - and all this like, if you, if you want to be in the hair industry in the beauty industry or anything like that, that, oh i don't want to be on social media, that needs to be something. That'S a dead thing to you, or this isn't the business for you. It'S just not it's! Just not because you're gon na hit a ceiling. You can only go so far. You had a ceiling anyway, when you're doing hair. That'S why you never! I mean you do, but for the most part, if a hair, if a cosmo was smart, she got a cap and then she gon na get out, because you can only do so many heads in one day. So there's a cap and there's there is there's a cap and a certain amount of money and a ceiling that you will hit, no matter how many assistance you have. You can only do so many heads in one day and without a social media presence. You will be stuck behind that chair period period because for everybody to say oh, i don't want to get on social media okay. So whenever you want to retire from doing hair, what you gon na, do what business venture are you gon na get into what business venture? Are you gon na start and please don't think that your clients are going to be enough for you to start your new business venture because they will not. They will not so for everybody that say they want to start in the cosmetology field, but they don't want to be on social media. You will be stuck behind the chair period period and whenever you want to get from behind the chair, you're going to have to start all over in a brand new business from scratch, because people don't know who you are, you have no social media presence. Rice, water smells worse than all hot dog water. Yes, it does and it's the thing rice, water isn't making your hair stronger. It'S actually making your hair weaker, but what the rice water is doing is eating all of the layers and layers of product that you have built up within the follicle and within the cuticle, and most of y'all have protein deficiencies and um the salt bond in the Hair is broken up because you got the hydrogen bond, the disulfide bond and the salt bond, and the salt bond is the bond in the hair. That'S broken by products that have high acid bases. Oh baby, the acidity on apple cider, vinegar, is through the roof. The natural ph balance of all of y'all homemade products that y'all be making through the roof right, the natural ph balance of fermented rice water through the roof. So all of these products that y'all putting on your hair, they break the salt bond and then the hydrogen bond is broken all the time, because naturals constantly wet in their hair all day. And then the disulfide bond is broken because y'all constantly combing the hair. While it's wet breaking your hair, so girl, listen, that's a lack of self-respect. The whole body needs to be clean at all times. That'S what i say but youtube made. People believe that dirt makes your hair grow. Everybody thinks that they're plants, tacos and burritos and speaking of plants tacos and burritos. You guys remember that this is an appreciation day live i'm giving you guys, 25 off my entire website, that is one-on-one coaching sessions. All of my ebooks, the new seven-day challenge and my new program - oh so, 25 off everything, everything so check the codes that are left here, i'm telling you i just keep ripping check the calls that are left here. It is thank you. 21 capital, t capital. U thank you. 21. Hello. Make sure that you enter the call before checkout because after you get your confirmation, email uh, that's it so make sure to do this because you put the code here, please say: sugarfoot, all right, sugarfoot, all right! Sugarfoot! That'S what we doing today this is sugar, sale, sugar, i'ma say it again that it got to be more authentic, that one wasn't authentic, i'm gon na, say i'm i'ma, say sugarfoot again, a person shall wash their hair at least every two weeks. Ah man, thanks to your knowledge, i now use sulfate shampoo to clarify my hair and i deep conditioner. I also stop being cheap on certain hair tools. Good because, once you once you spend the money on a tool, a your hair, not gon na, be damaged and broke off and b. You don't have to buy it. That much like. I still have like the black flat irons that i have. I have had those black uh nano titanium flat, irons for at least 10 years, and i still use them so and those nano titanium baby bliss. I think the only one that i've purchased recently within the last two years is the really really small little mini one. All the rest of those nano top technical, baby blitz flat irons are like seven plus years old, nah, probably like five to six years old, so yeah, it's a hundred dollars for flat irons, but you're gon na spend a hundred dollars once every and mind you. Those are flat irons that i'm using on nine people a day you're only gon na be using it all yourself. So, yes, a hundred dollars, but you're gon na spend a hundred dollars every 10 years. So i can't my head feels like there's the army of ants merchant in it. If i go more than two weeks without washing it girl, i wish everybody was like that. I'M eating tacos, happy taco, tuesday, happy taco, tuesday girl. That sounds good. Don'T forget to like this video yeah, you guys. Oh my god, there are 126 people in here and i only have 65 thumbs up really guys really so rude 121 people 71 likes 73. Thank you like seriously. I feel like the places i've had. Breakage is growing. Making my hair appear thicker, but i don't see a lot of length start measuring your hair. Sometimes your eyes can be deceiving start measuring. If you can visually see a change in the thing, you'll see the difference, because if you know your hair growing but you're not seeing lent, that means your retention is your problem. So you need to figure out what you can possibly be doing to keep your ends from like splitting or something because everybody here grows. So if you're not seeing the difference in length is because um it's because some in some way, you're not able to retain length, is ceramic baby, bliss, flat, irons, good as well ceramic or titanium i've. Never gotten to into that, like i don't see a difference, a tool is a tool like i don't think ceramic is more damaging than titanium where titanium is more damaging than ceramic. I just no. I don't that's. I don't get into that. I stole my sister's baby [ __ ] platter. She bought three years ago and it still works. I know it does. Thank you for sharing that. I have low porosity hair and it takes over three hours to dry my hair under a hooded dryer. When i do wash and go, i sit under a dryer is an extended dryer time damage into my hair. I mean no, but i don't i'm i'm the wrong person that asked about washing goes. I don't subscribe to wash them goes. I actually really dislike wash and go's, so i don't think, there's anything healthy about a wash and go i'm sorry. I might be rude. I just don't know how do you thumbs up? I don't know. Oh, it should be like at the top yeah you guys seriously. It'S 132 freaking people in here and only 94 thumbs up. You guys, i'm giving a 25 off code to my entire store opening up my one-on-one coaching sessions to all of my youtube family seriously. 130 people 95 likes 95 thumbs up. Give me your thumb, push it give me your thumb, push it real good, get up on this god, damn it. Thank you. Thank you. Get those thumbs up put those thumbs up in the air players come on. Pimpin come on big pimpin start spinning. The cheese is there a difference between rat foam or hair mousse. Well, yeah, it depends on what type of foam is from it is. Where is, i don't feel like going in there? It just depends on what type of foam it is. Yes, there is a difference. Yes, yes, this henna harmful teal. Here, it's not that it's harmful, but it never leaves. The reason that y'all use henna is because people use henna as a substitute for hair color, because y'all think that henna is temporary color, so y'all use henna, because y'all think that it's better than artificial hair color, because y'all think that it rinses out. But it never rinses out henna lives in the hair, it's cortex forever and it's actually harder to remove henna from the hairs cortex than it is to remove regular hair color. So it's not that it's damaging, but if do not put henna on your hair, unless you okay, with never coloring your hair ever again in life or with never lifting your hair again ever in life and over time, the henna will weigh your hair down and make Your hair weaker, because it's never leaving the the cortex it's just going deeper and deeper into the cortex, and it just compounds on top of each other. So the more henna you add to the hairs cortex, the the heavier the hair shaft is and then hair weathering begins to set in so and people, let it be like. Oh my grandma used to use it. Well guess what your grandma don't eat like you. Do your grandma don't have the same type of environmental issues and stuff that you have today, so it's like really easy. I figured it out had to drop the bar. Thank you love your content. You stay dropping gems, i'll, be so i'll, be uh tips for dermatitis. Can'T give tips on that one, because guru 101 has a full lesson on dermatitis that specific form of dermatitis. So if i answer your question on that here, guru 101 members gon na be like what are we paying you 9.99 a month for it just for you to go on youtube and tell them everything that you should be paying you to learn. So i can't answer that question because i'm not trying to get attacked. It'S google 101 members in here they just they just incognito right now. Why do you suggest going to super cuts just to get a trim just some, because most people, i'm just being real? I say go to supercuts, because supercars is only gon na charge, y'all eight dollars and most people don't want to go and pay a licensed, cosmetologist full price to go and get a trim. So for the people who don't want to go to a black hairstylist or who don't want to go into a salon to get uh to pay a licensed cosmetologist to do your hair instead of you doing it yourself, then straighten it yourself and go to supercuts and Pay them five to ten dollars to trim your ends. That'S why i said supercuts or great clips or someplace like that um. Am i saying that they're good? No, absolutely not, but i mean they. They know how to give you a trim. So i what i watched where someone said what hannah did today here, what did she say, or he say hannah did to his hair, his or her hair? I'Ve been watching your then from the beginning and you're gon na keep growing it, because i need to see your pantene moment: um yeah, i'm gon na just let it keep growing until i get tired of it. My hair i've been keeping my hair in a short pixie cut since i graduated cosmetology school because it was just easier for me like when you're doing 9 10 people a day. The last thing you want to do is your hair and i didn't want to have it in a ponytail all the time. So i kept my hair short because it was super easy like when i got. I can't get to work like an hour early one day a week and put my head over shampoo balls and put some phone wrap on there. Boom boom boom boom boom boom and then put the little wraps on there. Boom boom boom boom boom, and then i do to jay to pick it until my last client left. You know what i'm saying, so it was just easier for me, but now that i'm not doing hair no more, it's easy. I can. I can grow it out. So i'm not saying i'm never gon na cut it again in life, but imma. Let it go. Oh wait. Wherever i go to get my hair done, oh and it is going to be washed. I detangle before i get there. Oh, i appreciate you sometimes when i get braids i wash and shampoo my hair. Before i get my braid, i wish everybody would do that everybody brushes their teeth before they go to the dentist, i'm stealing that from somebody who said it earlier, everybody brushes their teeth before they go to the dentist. So why don't you prep your hair before you go see a cosmetologist? Why don't you prep your hair and make your stylist job easier, because a stylist is not a janitor. A stylist job is not to cleanse your scalp when you have not washed it. For six months, let me tell you something: uh, there are probably a select few hairstylists that enjoy that. But if you have not washed your hair in four months and yoga or six months and you go into a hair, stylist she's talking about you when you leave and when you're sitting in the chair and all them little flex and and that smell that's stinking up. The whole room, her clients, is her. The other girl, that's sitting there that's doing here. Her client is texting. Her talking [ __ ] about you, while you're sitting there because like come on dude, you wouldn't you wouldn't not brush your teeth for six months and then go to the dentist. You like you, wouldn't do that. You would not wash your butt for four months and then go get a pap smear. So why do you do that? To your hair? I'M just asking a question: it's not a rhetorical question. I'M i'm real! I want a real answer. I try to watch and go a few hours later. It was a wash and no my sister tried to wash and go and she went to get a relaxer same day. Then she said natural isn't for everyone, but a wash and go isn't natural. I don't care, i'm sorry like that's, not a hairstyle like any other race, a woman. They don't really just wash their hair and then walk outside wash do washing your hair and spraying product on it and then walking outside is not a part of the black experience. That'S not a part of a black woman's divinity just waking up putting water in her hair and walking outside. That'S not a hairstyle.

Tea Spells: Cyn! I’m guilty of using rice water during the summer and only used it once! And from that one time , it just made my hair worse! Like my hair was sooo brittle smhh never again

Angela Lee: To me a stylist who shampoo and condition your hair isn’t concern with healthy hair. They just concern with making money. It’s like going to the doctor and he doesn’t do an exam or takes test. He just prescribe medicine so he can get your co-pay, and the kick back from the pharmaceutical companies.

So Jalea Nicole: I had to come back I had to get off live last night, but you got me cracking up early this morning. This whole live was on point. Educational and funny.

Bridgette Flowers: Baby hair was out in the 1970's before you were born, it has come full circle like a lot of things.

Deandra Robinson: Really Cyn... When you are talking about the braider when you said women come there with their hair not taken down or washed their hair and then try to get braids. Now that is horrible!!! Wow that is all I have to say. Smh... Yes I agree that you should be certified in all things

J S: I love your stories the story @ the end had me n tears gurl you are crazy

alyssa stroud: ❤ we love you Cyn

Tee Lynn: Just like when you change your number and loose your cliental. Have to start all over but it is doable.

Mme. Flair: Late... I've been noticing ppl don't shampoo anymore. I don't understand how... & I can't. I'm shampooing EVERYONE! In my state, it's by law, but ain't nobody abiding by it. lol

Horace Henderson: Looking beautiful as always

Mz Renee': How do they do relaxers and coloring without a shampoo bowl. Keep this up and I am going to cosmetology school...lol

Natural Que: 4 but I will not go if they say that that is the best part of the service. I feel the new school hair dresser don't like doing hair or lazy. They feel privileged like you need them and they don't need you where is the customer service at?? But I do believe if you are getting a braid style the you should have your hair washed and dried due to time, it already takes long enough for the braids little alone adding hair so washing would add to much time to hair service.

RileyLuxe: The stylist that they going to probably only just focuses on style but they just so happen to have that one client or a few that doesn’t know the difference between a stylist and a cosmetologists

Atlantis White: Hey..
