Fashion Color Trends Fall 2021 Winter 2022

Fashion Color Trends Fall 2021 Winter 2022

Lets take a look at what colors were favoured at the fashion shows of major luxury houses and upcoming designers.

In my opinion color is the easiest way of keeping up with the trends and many of us will have no problem thinking back to our closets and remembering what colours we have and what we don't. I will talk about what colours will look best with what skin tone (warm or cool, if you don't know what tone you are there is a link bellow) and what colours any one can wear.

After you watch this video you will have a better understanding of what is to be expected from the fall winter colours and will have the opportunity to get ready for it.

Here is a link to a video that might help you figure out if you are a cooler tone or warmer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vos4tw...

Hello and welcome to mm design or um design. My name is maria and today i'm super excited because we're entering the best season for fashion and it's fall winter season. The time where it's okay to dress like a witch and it's appropriate. There is no hunting of witches anymore, so that's good too. Today we're going to be talking about color trends for fall, winter, 20, 21, 2022, yeah every time it just takes me so long to process. Where did i get this information? It'S the pantone colors. They did it for the new york fashion week, but then i saw some similarities for the other fashion weeks as you're going to see right now. So let's just start with the main colors of the year. Usually it's one, but this year we have two illuminating. It'S a really bright, yellow color in case, if you don't have eyeballs and you don't see what i'm showing you right here, the pantomime swatch description is friendly and joyful, an optimistic yellow, offering promise of a sunny day. So we do see a lot of it on the runways just like as small runways as well as larger ones like dolce gabbana. We'Ve seen this in zimmerman, prada and a few more so uh, i'm not usually the biggest fan of such an intense yellow because it is sometimes difficult to match to a skin tone um. But people who found that that's their color love it anyways. So the next color of the year is the ultimate gray. I don't know why. I just don't know why i've been watching a lot of like home design, videos and usually design and fashion, like any trends, kind of go hand in hand and whatever pantone like tells us that oh, this is going to be a brand new awesome color. A lot of places follow that and uh sales skyrocket, whatever those colors are present, but in all of the videos that i've been watching about home design, they were all saying that everybody is going away from all gray. Everybody is like fed up with it because it was over popularized, um and right now, they're looking for something more warmer, so maybe fashion and home design have decided to separate their ways, at least for this year. I don't know, but it was very interesting for me. So the way they decided to describe this gray color was a widely assuring and reliable ultimate gray encourages composure. Okay, we do see this color, it's more like a. I wouldn't want to say basic color, but it is, and we see some of the designers pairing it with that intense yellow color, but then some just having that subtle color. It was a little bit difficult for me to pinpoint those gray moments just because they're a little bit boring for me, and i was like so yeah here we go. This is all the examples that i found. So this brings us into more of neutral. I don't want to say neutral, like natural colors like browns, basically browns all right, the first one is the adobe. I don't know why it's called like that, but the way pantone described it is a warm and supportive sun-dried clay. Okay. So it's more of a warmer tone, brown, which would be great with a warmer skin tone, people or neutral. Of course i don't know am i am i a fan of this color. Don'T know there are a few there's quite a few. So, like the 70s trends, i guess it's like the corduroy and that that brown you know like, i think you know you have a feel for it now that i've mentioned the 70s, it's yeah, it's kind of that, like maybe 60s 70s yeah. Okay, let's move on to the next one, so we have another brown and this time it's the root beer, which is described as an herbal brown tone symbolic of a root bark of the sassafras tree. I don't know what that tree is, but we'll see. I never knew that the roots had bark okay learning something new every day. Once again we see this brown, basically just as much as we see the adobe brown a lot of it on the runways, i don't know, is it the new black? Don'T think so? There'S lots of black on there too, but for some reason black is barely mentioned ever on the trends, because i guess it's always trendy okay, so the next one is the soybean - and this is very neutral, very light - beige, mild and companionable blonde beige, so yeah the Color is is a little bit blah, but it is one of those staple kind of colors that won't particularly go out of style just because it's so subtle and yeah. It'S just it's just nice and natural, and we do see a lot of that. Color in fendi show. We also see it just like here and there it's kind of not an off-white, but more of a more of a beige color any ideas and an off-white color. Surprise. Surprise: we have coconut cream as that off color. It is described as thick and rich velvety of white. We see this color a lot in chloe uh. There is some of it in fendi. There were like a little bit pops here and there in different shows once again, not a pure white, but just a little bit like softer yeah, all right. Let'S move on to the next one we finally reached actually colors colors and the first one that i would like to talk about is the reds fireworld, so how the pantone described it as vigorous red with a dynamic presence. I need to talk about a little bit about lighting. Yes, of course, i'm picking things up from the runways and sometimes the lighting changes the color dramatically. We can see this in a givenchy post right here where, when the lighting is changed like the two different cameras were filming it, it first seemed like it's like a magenta red and then it went into a different light and then it become became like a red Red, like the fire whirl, i guess - and we see a lot of that with the whites too. The colors don't have to be exactly the same, and you need to think about your color complexion. What works for you, what doesn't maybe sometimes substitute one color for a more like a cooler one or for more of a hotter one, depending on what looks best on you. So let's talk about the red one. I love it. I do. I love the red and yeah. That'S that's a really good color for any season. In my opinion, okay, so the next one, i've just briefly briefly mentioned it - the fuchsia fedora. I have no idea how to pronounce it. But yes, it's that really intense, like almost magenta pink red and it has been described as flirtatious, bold, pink with all your yeah and it's mostly for the cooler tone. People, if you guys don't know what color tone is your skin tone? Yes, then, you can go ahead and check out a video that i made. I'M gon na be warning you. I that's one of my first videos, so it's gon na be a little bit choppy a little bit, but you will definitely find out what is your color undertone? So we've seen this uh crazy, bright, pink and, like mostly dolce gabbana, had a lot of those intense colors. We also see it in versace. Chanel also had a few of those okay. Let'S move on to the next one pale rosette and it has been described as an endearing and gentle romantic, pink, which is very nice for any complexion. In my opinion, i really like it it's very soft and subtle. It'S a surprise that it is in the fall winter kind of collection. It is usually kind of a color associated with a spring summer, but it's nice to have some variety. Maybe that was because uh the market is divided into two hemispheres, so when the northern hemisphere have winter and fall, the southern hemisphere also have those seasons, but there are the warmer ones. So we see this color in moschino. We see it in carolina, herrera and chanel and a few more places if you're enjoying this content so far, please consider to like this video and subscribe to this channel, as this will help my content be pushed a little bit by the algorithm, and maybe somebody else Will get a chance to hew it things all right. Let'S get into the greens, the first one is a leprechaun. Yes, the way that pantone described it as wondrous green hue, emblematic of the mythical imps of featured in the irish folklore. This is a green that would work more with a cooler tone, a skin, and we once again see it in a lot of places. We see it in prada. We see it in dolce gabbana and msgm philosophy, yeah, quite quite a popular color, all right. So the next one is the olive branch and it is a happy color for all of the warmer toned people, if in case you're, neutral and you're like. Why aren't you talking about me neutral colors can go with any color, so basically just pick and choose, but unfortunately for people that, like, for instance, i'm a more of a warmer tone color. I need to see if that works, for my tone. If it doesn't, it might make me look worse than i already am, so the olive branch is described as a tasteful green symbolic of growth. We all need that sometimes, and we see it in a dior show. We also like it's one of the most popular colors, in my opinion that i've seen on the runways. We see it in max mara, sport, max obama, simon rocha and quite a lot of other shows too all right. You guys, let's get into the blues, so the flesh gets started with the with the rodonte and it is described as a balancing blue based purple that aids in achieving one's highest potential so it for me. It just looks like a really really dark. Uh, blue color uh not a lot of purple in there. Like, i, don't see it honestly, i did have some trouble finding it on the runways for some reason, but i did anyway, so you you are seeing which runways have had that color. Let'S move on to the next blue, it is micronus my my conus blue yeah. Just please don't don't hate me for mispronouncing all these names, okay, so it has. It was described as a brisk blue evocative of the aegean sea and we, it is kind of one of the major blues. We will see another blue just just just a little bit from now, and it just seems like two different hues of the same color uh. But apparently it's not anyways, so the next one is the spring lake. A quiet and restful. Mid-Tone, blue and this blue would uh, probably be the only one out of the previous two that would work for the warmer skin tone. Just because it feels like there's like a little bit of green in there, which it makes it a little bit more warmer than like colder. So, yes, once again, we see this color in many many runways and once again with the lighting. Sometimes it looked more like the previous blue that i mentioned, or the spring blake blue, another color that was not present in that kind of list of colors was kind of this corcus petal. It was uh. It was there in a few seasons ago, but it's kind of this, not a lavender color, but like a per nice light purple color, i don't have a swashburg because it wasn't there and we see this color in chanel and mewmew and oscar de la renta, and So many more shows, i see it a lot. I'Ve seen it throughout the shows, so i decided to include it in here, although the pantone did not include it in their little calculation of all the trendy colors all right, you guys, so i would love to see you guys comment down below which of these colors. You are excited about entering into your wardrobe, maybe some of the colors that you already have in your wardrobe. That'S the main thing that i would like you guys to take away not to go and buy new things, but instead go ahead and check your own closets. See what you have and what you don't, i'm here also to warn you, because colors are basically the fastest thing that become untrendy if you're building your wardrobe to stand a long time. Think about your favorite color and something that you're going to wear beyond this season or just think about more of the neutrals that will take you into other seasons too. Thank you very much for watching it to the end. I really appreciate it. Maybe please consider to like this video and, if you're not already subscribed, then subscribe, because ninety percent of you aren't subscribed and it's a little bit sad for me, but it's okay, one day i'll get there. Thank you very much have a great day stay classy, bye,

Canz Tee: The great thing about grey is that it goes with everything & makes other colors pop more

Kelly Dunn: Very nice video! I'm excited to see the bright reds and pinks, as it seems those aren't usually included as much in an autumn pallette. I also think the pale purple is an interesting switch from the typical darker purples associated with fall.

Nicky Treagus: I love how happy you were when you reached red. I am so bored of the neutral colours so its great to hear you talking about bright, fun colours. I love the leprechaun green, both of the colour and the name . The blues look gorgeous too, now I'm excited to see what will be in the shops.

Jade Arizona : Absolutely LOVED Violet!!! Thank you for including it although Pantone didn't call it - it was so prominent and such a pretty shade!

Henriette Bjarney Kjeldgaard: I am neutral toned and love all shades of blue! I also like this year's grey, it is very classy. Actually I am a great fan of yellow and orange too, but those are tricky for me to wear, so I settle for accessories and patterns with them in it. Colours in general are nice! I find beiges and browns boring, and black a bit harsh. Look like sh... in pastels, except for pastel blue and lilac. ;-)

Lenni Lenape: Thank you, this definitely helps me choose colors for my fall earring collection! I'm inspired!

Emma L.: I have green eyes, so always love a good green! During the autumn I gravitate towards browns and more earthy tones (I'm lucky I have a neutral undertone ) and leave the brighter lilacs and yellows for the spring/summer, although reds I wear for both ‍♀️☺️

paticia santos: Maria I love your runway videos because as mom of two and working full time I don’t have time to watch every show for separate so you make it easy for me girl!!

Kimberly Perrotis: I’m cool-toned, but I love so many of the warmer colors like the olive green and rusty brown. So, I wear them as bottoms, with a white, or other flattering color, top.

Jeanne Snodgrass: Great video! My favorite gray is charcoal. Most of these colors are not for me but anything in the pink, red to burgundy in cool colors are my favorite. Thanks

Sophia Lee: Love all the different shades of Reds, Pinks, Greens, and Blues. ❤️

Crystal Ann Laminack: I still have trouble figuring out if I'm warm or cool toned. Depending on the day and lighting, I think I'm one or the other. But I love the greens and blues here. I have a top in almost each color mentioned.

Petite H.D: #springlake color my favorite i have tons of those already.Excited of those browns although owned a few brown pieces here and there.. the greens looks nice Mykonos blue is probably related to the blue ocean of Mediterranean Sea/ Greece. Love your videos pls keep them coming

Verna Washington: Great review. This gives us Jewellery designers the ideas of colours of the seasons.

Belle Lopez: Wow! ALL colors are in trend. No need to buy anything. Thank you for the recap.

Lyzette Vega: Gonna check what I have...definitely in my Color Palette (cool)!

Susan Tescione: In interior design, gray has been in for about 5 years. I am waiting for the trend to end. Their adobe used to be called cordovan. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Cintya B. Aguirre Q: I am following your video for almost a year. U always do a great job!!!

Amal Noami: Thanks for the great videos, almost all colors are there

Sam: I think that second blue is Mykonos blue (Me-koh-noss) like Greece! Love the colors for this upcoming season :)

TheNicoliyah: I have a bright yellow almost neon jumper, I wore it to see my Gran and she said I looked bright (not in a good way!) I still love it! Thanks for the great content

lishy peachy: Hi Maria! I see that there’s two sets of colours: one from the New York Fashion Week and the other from the London Fashion Week. Does it make a difference if we follow different ones?

Tiffany Washington: Just subscribed. You are a class-act and a wealth of knowledge. Thank you.

J L: amazing thanks a lot for your fantastic work

Maria Ivanova: I love the reds and the beige - brown palette.

Astraea: Yeh that rich brown is gonna make a lot of people look pretty waxy and off unfortunately. I’m waiting for a more universal colour…grey can also make people look drained and tired. Hopefully there will be variations of cool and warm grey. Oh I’m all for that coconut cream and the red, they’re both on my personal palette. That brighter pink in the snow scene is a warmer version, I hope we see a little warmth. The pale cool pink is another one that’s super draining on anyone who isn’t a summer.

Living Good: I am excited about the greens and purples. All the colors are nice to see after quarantine.

Jason Dozier: I'm going to tell my friends the new colors fall and winter ❄️ 2021/2022

Kristopher Hokanson: So excited about that Fuschia!!!

Kimberly Perrotis: I think you’re a cool-toned, Maria, a Winter. You might be like me and tend toward neutral, I’m a Summer, also cool. Yes, and cool-toned, too.

TERRA SAAVEDRA: HI MARIA NICE TO SEE ALL YOUR AWASOMENES DISPLAY HERE IN YOUR FASHION RESEARCH AND MEDIA WORK YOU SEND TO US, I LOVE YELLOW SHOES JAQUETS BAGS ETC, I JUST LOVE THE YELLOW ENERGY COLOR ON ME WHEN I AM WEARING IT, BLESSSINGS MARIA KEEP GOING

Jason Dozier: Yellow and reds including fuschia works for my skintone

Mildred Jeff: I already have several of these colors in my wardrobe, but I think maybe I’ll add some yellow!

kat russell: All colors are mentioned. Wear what you love.

Kimberly Perrotis: I was wondering where you were, sweet Maria, YT hasn’t been offering your videos lately. I hit the notification bell, I hope that fixes the problem. I’ve been watching some of the FW21 shows and didn’t seem to see many of the traditional Autumn colors, so I’m looking foward to your analysis - now to the video

Robin Smith: I love Brown! Just found your channel and love this topic!

Doreen Ardourel: I'm a "summer" season so most colors won't work for me. I love the pink and the pale purple.

Claudia Spinelli: Agree with you! That soft violet/lila, is all over the most trending ones! Why Pantone ignore it! Love your work!

debra firestone: I love purple really dark purple and brown and black and neutrals for winter and winter white

Kylie Jones: I’ve been seeing tops in that illuminating yellow color and now I know why.

Sabine Frosch: Mega! Thanks a lot!

Ronny Slootsky: This was so good.

tam winchell: We agree on so many things. DO you make your own fashion ?

Digitalsweetpea: There was a typo error in the blues it said bules. Otherwise okay video. Thanks for sharing.

Josette Blackburn: Love and kudos to you, but since you are a source of information, it is important to pronounce words and names. "Stay classy". Don't keep letting yourself off the hook. It's too often. No need to appear less informed and "dumbing it down" needlessly.

Daisy Guevara: Hello: I enjoy very much all your posts. I just want to tell you that Adobe is a "brownish-redish" construction material using in New Mexico. Perhaps thats why they used that name.

Beth Bartlett: Oh H No. Gray!?! What were they Thinking? Everyone is burnt out on Gray. How about they Try Again! Let's go with a Gold that looks like Gold and a little metallic flecks. With Black, Ivory, and that nice Banana Yellow! I'm still stuck on Caliente Red, 2017 or 18 Benjamin Moore. Love that Red! I like most pinks. Especially salmon or creamy pink. Not hot or bubblegum I'm Irish, love Greens. Blueberry. ✔ Lilac look old lady, period.

Jason Dozier: Fuschia is fierce it

Denise Oates: Well looks like the designers are trying to give new names to an already existing tone off white/cream/wheat, bright red/blood red, dark grey/smoky/charcoal grey, light grey/silver grey. I am a person of brown skin and the yellow tone I have for Fall fall under more of warmer yellow, like maize or gold. sunshine yellow? might be more of warmer climates during the Fall/Winter. Or maybe to help with the gloom a bright yellow wool coat would be nice. hmmmm The cognac colors of tan is almost goes hand in hand with Fall. It the color of the brown leaves. Magenta/Rose/hot pink would be such a great bold color. I thrifted a trench coat that color, so I will be wearing this with a matching lip. So since I am a thrifter I was able to get some genuine leather trench coats/jacket/blazers in some really cool colors. What I am looking forward to styling together is the maize yellows with the cognac tan leather. I so enjoy your videos, they are so inspiring. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.

Jacqueline McKinney: Great show!

Ana Maria Paes de Barros Mendes: Very good!

Katerina Frilingou: Mykonos blue from the Greek island of Mykonos and the color of the Aegean Sea

ふぃんふぃんふぃん: I'll try gray, green, blue and red

Ivone Arias: I have a self conflict with purple, and the various tones, in My Town, I hate the "LILA" a (purple pass tru some sort of bleach color ) a very sad tone of color for an i'll person

Dania A. Oliva-Peña: The clothing seems fine ,but I couldn't keep watching . I watched with the sound off , sometimes you just want to see the clothes , colors and designs .

Saadya Larbi: Green's ..ohhh i like

Barbara:

Jason Dozier: Leprechaun work with my caramel skin tone

Davide V: I am not a subscriber, but i love you! Haha

Lunisel L Laidlaw: Fab❤️

jenni85vandalia: Is it saffron yellow?

Jes de Ballet: thanks!! who wears violet?

nancy anderson: it seems all colors will be on trend except purple.

Coleen Haen: Pretty colors. Very ugly clothing featured on this video. In the real world people do not dress like this…

Dee Bee: Gray is boring she says sitting in front of a gray backdrop and wearing gray.....LOL!!

Kimberly Perrotis: Prounounce Mykonos as MEE-ko-nos. Simone in Simone Rochas is See-MOAN, not SY-mun.

Bogdana Rakoczi: Adobe - это жженый кирпич вроде

elaine alvarez: Pinks and Purples

Jason Dozier: Violet is my friend for life

Nobu Ichida: Hello or should I say yellow Big Bird!

Sonia Worley: Designer clothes are becoming uglier every year, stopped buying them .

Michele Barinaga: You are a cool undertone, correct? I am similar complexion with blue eyes. Thinking cool ??
