When I made my original how to do with the awkward stage, I was focused on the process of growing your hair out from a disconnected undercut to having longer sides and essentially transitioning into being able to style longer. Hair. Little did I know only six months down the line, I'd be entering a hole of a beast of an awkward stage. If you are planning to grow your hair out. Hopefully you can use these tips ahead of time. So then, you're well prepared when you do eventually get here. As always, please give this video a thumbs up if you enjoy it or find it helpful it lets me know you guys like seeing these types of videos and subscribe. If you haven't already with back to posting weekly hair content, as if that is of interest, make sure you subscribe to keep up to date, but without further ado, let's get into it tip number one is to wear hats, and now I know this is super obvious. So I mention it first and I'm going to talk about it for too long, but it's been a reoccurring comment in my recent videos that, despite making hair focused content, I've not had my own hair on display, and it's simply because of this awkward stage that I Found myself in growing up I've never really been into hats myself. I feel, like the typical hats, don't really suit me. The truth is, there is a wide variety of different head wear that you can experiment with so finding what you feel comfortable and confident in is going to be your best bet. This isn't me telling you to wear a hat every single day. Think of it as like a helping hand, it's it helps you to just get out in the morning or do whatever you need to do without having to worry about how your hair looks. Tip number two are bobby or hair pins. If you haven't ever grown your hair out or are around those that have grown out hair such as a sibling or a partner, you might never have considered the use of body or hair pins. However, they can be extremely useful when trying to look a little more presentable during the awkward stage. As I mentioned previously, I can't type all of my hair up, however, using bobby pins, I can pin the Untied hair, which isn't yet long enough toward the hairband, which, in turn that provides a much cleaner look without any hair like straggling out besides, if you're concerned, With people noticing them or seeing them, they're also pretty hidden. If you get ones which are your hair color, they do take a little time getting used to, but within five or ten minutes of playing around with them. You should hopefully be comfortable with your hair back tip. Number three is to stop counting the days. This is pretty much applicable to everything in life that takes time it's the same as looking at the clock at work or a school or looking at the numbers on the treadmill, as you run in this case each day you look in the mirror and your head. Doesn'T seem to be getting any longer, it makes the awkward stage feel a lot longer than it actually is. To be honest, I'm starting to think longer head doesn't even suit me. So I'm prepared to visit the barber the day I can tie all of my hair up, but until then I won't be counting the days and I suggest you do the same. That leads nicely into tip number four, which is have a goal in mind. Up until recently, I didn't have any desired hair lengths or desired hair style, which made it feel like. I was optionally choosing to wake up with bad hair days and just go through this phase, but, as I mentioned in the last tip, I want to be able to tie all of my hair up once I get to that point. I'M then happy to review how I feel about things if I want to go to the barber and go back to shorter hair or if I want to continue like around that loan. But just having that goal in mind makes it a lot easier to stick with this hair grow, and so I suggest to anyone going through this phase to just think where you want to be. Maybe you want to have a specific hairstyle. Maybe you want to have a specific hair length, regardless of what your goal is. Just try to have one tip number five is to stay interested in all things, hair. As you grow your hair out, it's not uncommon to forget what it feels like to be excited about a new hairstyling product or just having a good hair day, and so it's important to find that feeling in other elements of hairstyling, hair growth or even hair health. For me personally, I completely switched up my shower routine. If you will, I don't use any kind of cosmetic, shampoo or conditioner a transition to using shampoo bars and conditioner bars if you've used any before you'll know that these vary massively depending on the brand manufacturer ingredients. So, for me, it's opened up a whole new world. I I love going to like my local, organic kind of food health store and like picking up a new shampoo bar and seeing how it works with my hair. It sounds silly, but for me, that's what's kind of kept me interested in this hair game and it's important. You find that thing for you, because you're gon na start to forget what it feels like you know, be inspired and be motivated to look good. All in all that brings this video to a close. Hopefully you found it helpful. Please give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it or found it helpful again, it lets me know you guys like seeing these types of videos subscribe. If you haven't already way back to posting weekly, so it'd be cool to have you along the journey without something I'm not massively invested in I've been posting a little more to my Instagram, it's at lucozade with threes, if you're interested, but until then I will see You all in next week's video take care guys buh-bye

Slaven: Everyone: OMG Luca's hair is so perfect. I want to have have a hairstyle just like him! Luca: I am currently in an awkward stage...

Margaret Neilson: I’m a woman, this year I decided to grow my hair from an ultra short length. Since the beginning of the year I’ve only had 2 very lite trims and have weathered through the difficult stages of hair growth. I can now clip my hair back and it’s nice and tidy and it’s getting volume. I like your advice and it’s very true to what I have been doing myself. I’m 67 by the way so I figured it’s either now or never that I grow my hair. I don’t intend getting another trim until January . Cheers from Australia and I’ve given you a like.

percyvael: im on the growing out journey as well, since like september 2019! Thanks for posting some motivation and tips

Aniruddha Ghosal: The thumbnail has basically the hairstyles of Levi and Eren lol.

Himanshu Sharma: Well 2020 is officially long hair year Long hair squad

The Infinite Realms: I have been trying to grow my hair out for years. Your channel helps me gain the motivation I once lost. Thank you for this insightful video and keep it up.

Ross Mitchel: I'm about5&1/2 months into growing my hair out, I have dark thick curly hair. And I am just reaching the real awkward stage on the sides, so I have been using a lot of hats caps things like that, how long did it take you to get your hair as long as it is in this video? Also thank you for the tips!!! Cheers and have a great day

Hunter Emery: dude’s awkward stage is my hair goals

James Scorge: Spent the last couple hours watching your vids and love them! I'm currently at this stage where I can't yet do a full bun. Got to power on! - thanks for the tips!

Abhinove Nagarajan.S: I've been growing my hair out since Sept '19. This was a very helpful video. Thanks! I want to be able to tie all of my hair, like you mentioned, so I assume I'm going to be in this awkward stage much longer hahaha.

TheLEAprechaun: I'm a girl but for some reason I love watching these :D I originally wanted to learn how to cut my boyfriend's hair now that the hairdressers are closed but the video quality and your constant smile make this really fun to watch, too. Also, I find it strangely relaxing to hear other people talk about hair, so yeah, 11/10, will watch more :D keep up the good work!

Marshmallow: Growing my hair since August 2019. You're videos are really helpful, they helped me a lot thanks ❤❤

EL_CHURRO: Just started to grow my hair out! And I’m glad I found your videos to help me along the way!

zayd: Where the frizzy/wavy/curly hair squad at?

Dylan White: Luca your hair is actually an inspiration. I haven't had long long hair in many years and I looked up to you when you had the undercut and now I'm looking up to you with the hair you have now. Stay true and as always have a great day!

Cevin Martinez: Really missed you and your videos!!! You are truly an inspiration for me to actually go through with this and grow my hair out. Lol. I've been doing it for almost 4 months now and I'm actually not feeling too bad about the awkward stage you can say lol. Keep the videos coming! Much love.

Syllus Music: I decided to grow my hair out in December of 2018. Now it took nearly 8 months til I could tie it all up and even then it wasn't that great. Now i'm 14 months in and can put my bun anywhere on my head and it looks great. There was definitely a time where people would tell me to get a haircut while I was in the awkward stage but I just told them would you tell Jesus to get a haircut? Then after some time I started actually getting compliments on my hair when it's up or down. So ignore the haters and grow your hair out.

Huy Lý: Wish I found this sooner lol. Used to grow my hair out for a year (May '18 - May '19) and got it to an almost shoulder length pony tail. Didn't do any maintenance trim or any products, just natural growth. My Asian unability to grow facial hair and a fairly feminine complexion did not help at all haha. Don't have long hair anymore but it was a fun journey.

Michał Zarzecki: Thanks for the great tips and encouragement on the way Luca. Great videos and reflections on the process of growing hair out and owning them.  It also seems that we do shopping in the same shop. Regards, mate.

Lame Drawings: Ive been growing my hair out for like 4 months in now, and I absolutely love my hair. I finished school last year so I dont have anymore stupid regulations to follow.

Dominic Statham: I’ve been growing my hair out for a min and beanies are my best friend, it’s so easy to make your hair look good in the akward stage or if you don’t want to mess with it

Sahil _Hashmi: I've been growing my hair for 7-8 months now and I've faced this, but the difference is I don't have straight hair, and the worst part about it is I didn't even knew I had curly hair until I started growing them

Eznack: Finally getting out of the awkward stage of growing my hair out it’s pretty relieving

SolarxXxEclipse: Great video mate, currently in the awkward stage of about 3 inches of hair in the front and 2 inches max in the back. And about an inch max on the sides and back. But I want to get to the classic pomade slick back hair style. Currently on a stressful journey of freaking out in the bathroom because my hair just doesn't work. But we'll get there. And just to inform you, yes this video did help me. Thank you. You deserved the like and I watched all of your ads

Leonardo Zilmar: Im on my hair journey for 4 months and i feel awkward and thanks to this video it feels much better . Btw im 16 yrs and im plannin to grow it till 19yrs old

Justin D: Longer hair definitely suits you. I’m a few months behind you in growth so it’s cool to see the process

Carolina Herrera: I'm a woman and had shaved my head 2 months ago and am just entering the first awkward stage of my journey and your videos are so helpful! You're so personable and not to mention cute! haha, so thanks for the content!

BKoi: Well hopefully I’m able to achieve my desired hairstyle, thank you for the tips :)

S.Hayder: I've been growing my hair for 8 months now. Sometimes it feels good to have long hair BUT sometimes it feels so uncomfortable specially when shampooing takes too long and it's literally hard to shampoo if you have long hair.

Reece: I'm at 14 months but I cut about two inches off the back as I wanted the front to catch up. I made the right choice, the awkward stage lasts up to two years. I'm gonna kick on for the next year or so. This shit takes time and makes you wonder if cutting it in a second is even worth it.

Andrew Lavagnino: Push through, it will get better. I’m regrowing my hair out and the awkward stage is right now. Push through men

Sebastian Klein: I’m a waiter, and I’m allowed to keep my hair long as long as it’s presentable, and obviously I can’t wear any hats. What would you suggest I do for my hair at work during the awkward stages?

Dylan Garcia: great content as always. thanks for the upload. Been growing out my hair for 4 months now and I hope to continue.

Apurba Samanta: God bless you man !! Your videos came into my life when i needed the most ( am also growing out my hairs)

Karlo Šuman: i been following you since may.i got my last haircut in may.and i wanted to grow out my hair and you helped me a lot.It has been 10 LONG MONTHS.

inyofaceX10: I‘m also growing my hair out. My goal is to not get it cut for one year (maybe longer if I’m not satisfied with the length I will have reached by then) and I’m three months in by now. And right now everyday feels kinda like bad hair day, lol. But I’m also kind of getting used to it. I always had short hair before, like 3mm short all around my head.

Beaumont Ryle: Your tips was very helpful because I'm planning to grow my hair longer haha. I will surely follow your tips.

Damian Camacho: Omg I’m also in that awkward stage where the sides aren’t long enough yet, I hate it . I clip them too, like you said. I’m a Mexican trying to reconnect to my native roots but my hair is so straight that it looks like a bob cut in this stage it’s in haha. Looking forward to tying it up in a bun and braiding it tho.

Michael Hartinger: Hey mate! Great video! I’m curious - what do you think about long hair in a professional environment? I’m between jobs because of Corona but I want to grow my hair out. What’s your experience with employers and longer hair?

John Karakot: Nice to see you posting more consistently man!! Keep up your great work.

Michael: I had shoulder length hair when I was around 14-15-16 and constantly wore my one and only beanie. That thing served me well and made my long hair far more practical. Would recommend but buy one that washes well and don't put it in the drier... Mum shrank my favourite beanie :(

iMan: Thanks Luca, legit most helpful channel when I was in the “awkward stage”

Cameron Towns: I started growing my hair up, it's probably been two to three months now. I'm at that awkward stage where it's too short to do anything with (ponytail wise), but too long till like spike it or something.

MIKE500: My hair its just like yours.. the colour, the form, everything. I'm growing it,and it's the 4 month,i feel i have a helmet now.. You are inspiring, and i love your very helpful videos. Thanks, keep going!

Accidental Medico: Since I can’t get my hair trimmed during this lockdown due to Covid-19 and i didn’t know my hair grows so fast, im already in that awkward phase. So im planing to grow my hair long. ‘If you cant’ beat them join them’ they said

KissProject: Idk why this video pops out but this video is what i need. I'm in the middle of growing my hair too and being in formal business industry is quite hard for me to keep my hair longer but looking neat

Joel: My barber shut his stall due to corona outbreak and now i'm watching this.

Indica King: Once I got to the awkward stage I started wearing hats when I had never wore one before in my life, but I like the look. 3 months of being in the awkward stage (8 months over all) and its lookin a little better, but I still got a lot of growing to do

Didi: Corona has really helped me get through the second awkward stage but my sides are curly so they shoot out instead of hanging

Avninder Singh: I got my sides faded in January 2020 and now I’m growing my hair its already been two months. Even my hair are in a little awkward stage but i wear a baseball cap whenever i go out . I have been rocking a fade with high volume top since 5 long years, now feeling about a change. Want to try something new that i never tried. Even thinking about ear piercings . 2020 will be a change. Good luck everyone.

Camille Dietschy: Hi Luca, I have been growing my hair since last summer after having cut it very short (at ear level). Now my hair reaches my shoulders, it takes time but i try to touch it as little as possible and use natural products. I am a girl but i really like your videos and i apply the same advice as yours. Ps: you are really cute and handsome. Excuse me for my English and my mistakes, I'm French. Continue like this ;)

Jay Vee: He's very pleasant, he's always smiling when he talks

Poppy: I'm here on behalf of my boyfriend who neglected to go to the barber before quarantine set in and they all closed. I adore long hair on blokes and want him to keep it so thanks for the tips!

Juan Ramirez: I've been growing out my hair from a disconnected undercut since June 2019, my goal is to have a whole man bun, I already have 8 inches on top and about 4 on the sides I believe

adil ur Rehman: Currently on my awkward hair stage. Cant wait to come out of it.

Alex D-M: I had to go to the barber yesterday because I’ve been growing my hair out, but my hair has got really thick since I’ve started growing it so I had to get it trimmed to remove some of the weight so I could actually do anything with it

Boo¤: The part where he pinned the side of his hair was when I subbed. My hair can already tie into a medium sized bun but i faded the sides and I just realised that I want to grow out the sides as well so I'm glad I found this video, thank you.

shantell Mae Grcia: I'm on my 9month hair growth thanks to your videos that motivate me!!! I wear hats that some skaters wear that would make you look cool specially if you are 16 or above

Alejandro Gonzalez: My hair is sitting at around 14 inches. It sucks having baby hairs or frizzy hair at times, but it’s definitely a change from my quiff style hair. Great video!

YaBoiRamen: I want to see my hair get long again but it's really hard not to count the days when I know I'm getting shipped to boot camp and getting it shaved off this summer

eduard karpoev: Honestly I kinda vibe with your longer hair, I personally can't see myself cutting my hair when I hit desired length until O have it for atleast 6 months just to really know if I like it. But so far I've enjoyed my hair growing process

Benjamin: Great vid as always ! Keep it up, great to hear you're back to posting weekly.

Jeremiah Gabriel: Super handy in describing the honest difficulties of being a human who has hair that feels...not quite what you want...yet... and then posing solutions of what to do with it

Andrew Cruz: *Currently rocking this length and I love it don't get me wrong , but it's too much of a hassle to deal with in the morning especially with thick wavy hair*

pwowp8848: I got long hair the first time cause i was depressed and never went outside so over time my hair gotten long ... i noticed it fits me well so i kept it like that... later i tryed to cut the side shorts.. it was nice but i wanted to go back to all hair long... tried it 3 times so far cause i always cutted ut when i wante to go to travel and dont deal wirh looking like an idiot... so now there was corona and i prob need a couple more weeks to get them long enocuh

Aster Finch: I decided to grow my hair out since June and I grew it from an undercut thanks for the motivation!

MattMosM: YESSSS FINALLY thank you!!! My hair is so long on top and bottom but the sides?? NOPE . So fucking annoying having the side hair fly around loose always trying to put them behind my ears. I use glasses as well so whenever I take my glass on or off it moves the side hair in chaos. Gotta get some hairpin asap

Phat Tran: tip 3 is like a slap to my face lol, i carelessly cut my hair and now i'm looking at the mirror everyday to see if my hair has grown back

ctownballer100: My hair is so straight and I hate it! I’m growing it out in hopes of it looking good, but I gets extremely greasy as well.

Hammad Hussain: These tips are unrelated to many of us. As we have curly and wavy hair. You really make us jealous with ur hairs. Lov them

Broski and the Homie: Don’t go the day you can tie it up!!! I did that, straight away, keep it for month and enjoy it Ahahah instead of growing it for a year and then instantly going back ahaha

Steve Aylwin: Long hair does suit you btw - I'm probably 3-4 months growth away from your length, looking forward to seeing how different it looks!

jbiel: I got my haircut even when I wanted to grow it out because I wanted a Patrick Bateman 1980s wallstreet haircut but had no idea how to approach it. Maybe I’ll come back to it one day :)

Dream: I grew my hair out for 7-8 months but I recently cut it all off cause my hair is naturally greasy and I just couldn’t handle it anymore.

Kenshii: If you are black/latinx, you might wanna try braids. it hides the middle phase uglyness while still being able to grow out your hair

Gilgamesh: My hair gets curly at the ends in the back of my head, so no matter how much it grows there, even if its to the beginning of my back, it'll just curl up and you wont even notice xD Gel and conditioner that makes your hair hold in place doesent really help either since the moment i look up or tilt my head to the side, it'll just curl up again
