Hey guys welcome back to my channel or welcome if you are new here and if that's the case, i'm really glad to have you here we're going to be talking about olaplex today and if you have been around for a while or you've watched some of my More recent haircare videos - and you probably already know i love olaplex with my whole heart. I love this brand. They have amazing products for damage repair and i feel like i recommend them to every single person. That'S in need of that that asks what they should use, but even though i love them very, very much, i do feel like some of their products are a little bit confusing to figure out how to weave into a weekly haircare routine, especially if you don't wash Your hair every single day, like me as a once a week, hair washer, plus with the rise and popularity of this brand, i feel like i've, started to see a lot of little hacks pop up for easier ways to use these products, and i have been really Curious about them, so i feel like i've seen so many comments and questions and suggestions about this. Like is it true that i can leave number three on my hair overnight? Is that actually going to benefit my hair even more or could that damage my hair? Is it true that with number seven, if you apply that before using heat that that's actually going to fry your hair and make heat damage worse for number zero, can you add that to a spray bottle to make it easier to apply? So i thought i would just reach out to the brand myself and ask all of these questions, plus even more so that is exactly what we're going to be talking through here today. This is not going to be a sit-down review of all of all the plexus products, because i've already done that. So if you haven't seen that yet i will link that below. If you want some background, this is going to be a follow-up to that talking through the most effective ways to use their products to make sure that you're actually getting bang for your buck and olaplex's thoughts on some of these kind of hacks that have popped up And if they get their stamp of approval or if they say, don't apply the products that way. So if you want to hear about that you're in the right spot, we're going to jump right into that before we do. If you like, hair care, content, skincare content - or you like just hanging out with me - definitely make sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel. That really helps to support me and make sure that my videos are recommended to others. And you should come hang out with me on instagram and tick tock. My username is also abby young on those platforms which is right here for you all right. Let'S talk, golaplex, okay, so we're just gon na go right down the numbered row. Here we have number zero number three number six and number seven we're not gon na include number four and five in this video that is their shampoo and conditioner. Those are pretty straightforward, can't really mess those up. So if you wanna hear my thoughts on those and see the formulation again, that's in my previous review, but these products right here are definitely the ones that i've seen the most questions on and most kind of suggestions on different ways to use it. The hacks, if you will so, let's start off with number zero, so this is called their intensive bond building, hair treatment and this is their latest launch and it was specifically designed to be used with number three as a primer for number three. So i feel, like people were kind of confused about this, like what is this even really for do? I need that, if i'm using number three, you don't need it to use number three, but it is supposed to make the benefits of number three even better by priming the hair, so that number three can be pulled deeper into the hair. So again you don't have to use it if you wanted to use number three, but if you feel like you're in serious serious need of some intensive damage repair, then this could be really helpful to you so how you're supposed to use this is saturate it all Over the hair, leave it on for 10 minutes and then go ahead and apply number three after that. In my opinion, this is definitely the trickiest product to use because you're supposed to fully saturate your hair so that it's completely wet for number three to be applied on top of. But all you have to work with. Is this little opening right here? The tip of the bottle - and it's just really hard to get that evenly all over the hair, so the hack that i have seen suggested the most about this product by far is to add it to a spray bottle. So i asked olaplex about that. Can this be added to a spray bottle to spray all over the hair? What are your thoughts on that and they actually do not recommend doing that? They specifically said that olaplex is not designed to be airborne and that was kind of it on that. So they didn't give a lot of color around. Why exactly that is, but i am sure it's some sort of inhalation safety issue eye safety issue. So that's all i'm going to say on that. I have not tried that. For that reason it just makes me nervous. I'M like we're not supposed to be spraying that i'm just not gon na mess with it. So i don't actually use this product anymore because i feel like. I don't need it right now, but i think where it could be really helpful is if you've just gotten your hair bleached or you have really severe damage from heat or something else. It could be a really nice plus to the number three. But i haven't continued to use it because i think it's kind of tricky to use, so the other question that i've seen about this is: can i just immediately apply number three to the hair after using this, do i have to wait the 10 minutes really? What'S that going to do, but yes, you do actually have to wait. 10 minutes. You can't just put this on right away because it needs 10 minutes to fully absorb into the hair so that i can actually work properly. So those are the little tips and tricks for number zero, not an ideal situation. Obviously you can do what you would like for application, but that is the brand's two cents on that. Let'S move on to number three, which is their hair perfector. So this is supposed to repair the hair and prevent future breakage, and this, i would say, is the most confusing product to figure out how to use in your weekly hair care routine. So what they recommend on the back of the bottle is to use before shampooing and to use it up to three times a week, depending on the level of damage that you have, or you can just use it once a week. If it's not that severe, they say to apply it on damp towel. Dried hair before you shampoo, apply a generous amount from scalp to ends until the hair is fully saturated. Leave it on for a minimum of 10 minutes longer. If desired, then rinse from the hair follow up with shampoo and conditioner, let's just start off with the bang and talk about the hack that everyone seems to be talking about with this product lately, which is to leave it on the hair overnight. I'Ve seen so many comments saying: oh my gosh try leaving that on the hair overnight. The results are insane and so much better than if you just leave it on for 10 minutes. So the brand is pretty vague about the 10 minutes or how long you should really leave it on the hair because they just say 10 minutes or longer. So i asked what does longer mean and what they said is that this actually loses its effectiveness around 30. To 40 minutes, and in order for number three to work on the hair, the hair needs to be damp or in order for it to work effectively, the hair needs to be wet or damp, so once it dries that efficacy diminishes. So while you can technically leave it on the hair overnight, it's not going to damage the hair, it shouldn't be doing much more for your hair than if you were to just leave it on for 40 minutes and then rinse it off after. So, of course, if you disagree with that and you feel like you've seen a big difference in leaving it on the hair overnight versus just that 40 minutes, then to each their own. I'M not here to try to say that that's not true for you, but i have tried to leave it on the hair overnight and i don't feel like there is that much of a difference for me the next morning versus if i just use this for about 40 minutes or while my hair is still wet. I don't really think i noticed a difference and i have tried it many times, so you can keep doing that if you would like to. But technically it shouldn't really be doing much more for you. The next question with number three is definitely one that i have been the most curious about as a once a week. Hair washer is okay. What if our hair is dirty, we have product build up. Do we have to clean our hair first and shampoo first in order for number three to actually work, or is it true that we can just use it before shampooing, no matter what like it says, on the back of the label? So what olaplex said about this is that you don't have to shampoo your hair before olaplex 3 will still work on the hair if the hair has build up, but it's going to work the best and most effectively if you do shampoo the hair first. So for those of you that were asking in my last hair washing routine, if the fact that i apply this on top of the hair oils that i sleep in would affect olaplex number three working on my hair. It does it's not going to work as well as it possibly can, but that's how i've been using this product for months. At this point i feel like almost a year, and i feel that i've still seen really really nice results and using it. So for what it's worth as someone who washes once a week and uses this on dirty hair, it still works for me in that way. But again, if you feel like you need serious damage, repair, maybe consider shampooing. First then, applying it, leaving it on for 10 minutes and rinsing it off and then last question for number three is similar to number zero but kind of a three-part question. So, can you put this in a spray bottle to make it easier to apply i've seen a lot of people suggesting that by either adding a little bit of water, or maybe a little bit of number zero to make it slightly more liquidy? Still no there to the spray bottle thing. So that's not just a number zero issue across the board. Olaplex says: don't make our stuff airborne. Please. If you wanted to make this a little bit more liquidy, so it's easier for you to evenly spread throughout the hair. You can add a little bit of water actually no concerns with that, but you don't want to add number zero, because this needs to sit on the hair on dry hair for 10 minutes first, so that is it for number three. Let'S move on to number six, which is their bond smoother, so on the back, they say to apply a very small amount and to concentrate it on the mid length to ends comb through and style as desired, so slightly different than number three, and this is something That i used to use when i was first testing it out after i washed my hair and before i blow-dried it as a blow-dry primer. I found that in doing that, while i didn't hate it, i wasn't obsessed with the way that my hair looked on those days because it kind of weighed down my hair a little bit my hair, while i have a lot of it, is very fine. So it's weighed down easily and it makes sense because this is such a concentrated product. I mean it's not like a deep conditioning heavyweight mask but for the products that i'm used to using on blow dry day, much thicker than that. So if you watched my latest favorites video, then you already know how i have been loving using this, and that is actually overnight. Oh, my goodness, i would highly recommend doing that. So this is different than number three and the fact that it can be applied to dry hair and it doesn't need to be on damp hair in order to work so i've been using this about, i would say, mid-week once i hit around day four, i'm starting To feel kind of gross and dirty my ends are a little bit frazzled feeling a little bit dry and i need some extra conditioning. I have been applying this with a few drops of this, which is their number seven bonding oil, and that combination makes my hair feel like butter the next day. It'S amazing and, of course, aside from it just making my hair feel really good. I'M getting the bond repair benefit in there, so oh my gosh, oh my gosh. You have to try using this overnight and then two more quick questions about this. The first is, if you were to use it on damp hair. Is this good enough as a heat protectant, and while it does give you some heat protection, it's actually not all the way up to 450 degrees, which is what a lot of blow dryers and curling irons go up to these days. So they do recommend using a separate heat protectant with it and then the other question that i've seen for this is. Can i use it every day if i can use it on dry hair? Is that going to benefit my hair further? And while you can do that, there's no reason that you can't it's not going to damage your hair. If you do that, you aren't necessarily going to see further benefit, because this is supposed to work for 72 hours. So you shouldn't need to use it every single day. Every few days will suffice. Okay and then last is number seven, which is their bonding oil. Definitely not as many questions or comments or suggestions about this one, because an oil is definitely more straightforward. I think than some of these other products, but what i have seen a lot on tik tok about this is that it's actually going to fry your hair. If you use it before, you use heat styling products, i've seen that so many times like don't use that before heat, it's going to fry, your hair really really damage it. But that is not true. This is actually a heat protectant, and this does provide heat protection up to 450 degrees. So, if you're able to use these together and make sure that your hair is evenly covered, that would give you the heat protection that you need. I think that it's a little bit too difficult for me to apply these products evenly all over, given the fact that this is so much thicker than i typically would like a product like that to be to make sure that i'm getting adequate heat protection. So i always use a spray first, you guys know my curology multitasking spray that thing's amazing it's going to detangle, but it also adds heat protection just just so that i'm not taking any gambles. But if you did use this before styling and you don't feel that it weighs down your hair in combination with number six, then false that this is going to fry your hair. That is not true. It will actually protect your hair from heat damage and, if you were to use this before styling, you could do the same thing that i do overnight. Just apply a few drops to this mix it together, and i do find that that makes it easier to apply for sure, because this adds that little bit of liquid that this needs to just be spread evenly throughout the hair. So those are all the questions that i asked olaplex about for you guys, i really hope for those of you that have found this a little bit confusing and you weren't fully sure how to properly use these products in your routine that this helped to clear. Some of that up, because i was even confused with some of these products and it's nice to have clear answers straight from the source because i feel like there are so many suggestions online, and so many of them contradict one another that i just wanted to hear From olaplex themselves, so you definitely can find some of the things that i talked about on their website in their faq section. But i still feel like i saw so many of these questions over and over that it would be worth just making a video on and letting you guys know once and for all what willplex had to say. So let me know your thoughts in the comments below. If you currently use olaplex, do you feel like you're, going to switch things up a little bit after watching this video, or are you going to try oloplex after watching this i'll? Have all the products listed in my description box below if you are interested in purchasing but other than that? That is everything and my next video will be up in a few days, so stay tuned for that. But until then i hope you have a great few days.

Inesha DR: After my cancer treatment with chemo, I had a lot of hair fallen out and the hair that I still got was very fine and my curls were not curled together but all separated, so very plushie looking. Now , after 3 months using olaplex 3 to 6, my curls are all beautiful bonded again, they shine and my hair grows like a baby. So happy with this products!

April Miller: I use #3 during my workouts 1-2 days a week. Weird hack but I swear by it! I use a spray bottle to dampen my hair, apply #3, toss in a ballerina bun, head to the gym and I’m masking while I’m training! Kinda gross, but I think my sweat + body heat during training keeps my hair damp much longer and I find this time window works well for me. I wash out while showering post workout. Yep I’m in public with a hair mask on, nope I don’t care what my hair looks like while I’m hip thrusting. Booty and hair gains at the same time?! Yes ma’am!!

Rachael Cadman-Hope: Currently sitting with No.3is my hair for the first time, before trying No.8, 6 and 7. Very informative and helpful video. You’ve covered all questions that I had about the products. Hoping for good results

MissBellsx4392: Fun fact: Number 0 and number 3 are just diluted versions of number 1 and number 2 that stylists use in salons. Number 0/1 is what actually rebuilds the bonds in your hair and number 2/3 is what sets that process with a little additional bond building. That’s why your stylist gives you number 3 to take home (because it’s a diluted version of step 2). She puts step 1 in your color or bleach (or can be used as a stand-alone treatment with water) and then layers step 2 over it. As the effects of step 2 begin to break down during the weeks between your salon visits, the step 3 home treatment is like a bandaid that helps keep it going until the next time you go to the salon. Tip for applying number 0- close your bathroom sink drain, cover your bathroom sink with a layer of plastic/Saran wrap and then flip your head/hair over into the sink and apply it that way. Any bit that isn’t absorbed by your hair fast enough will be caught by the plastic/Saran wrap and you can kinda mush your hair into it after to make sure you don’t waste a drop

Lb queen: You can wrap your hair in a few “buns”- then just squirt the #0 into the bun of hair and squeeze the bun to saturate the hair. Then let the bun down and comb through it / continue to bun up segments until your hair is saturated. This makes it very easy to apply to your hair and no waste.

Cortney M: As a cosmetologist I really appreciate the effort that went into making this video accurate. Thank you for taking the time to correctly info people. Great video

Gabrielle Kocsis: My stylist told me I can use no 3 like I would with a leave in conditioner and it has helped my hair so much. I had a super dead section of hair that framed my face and it's so healthy now using no 3 with the leave-in method. I just put it on my ends/damaged pieces after I shower!

OLAPLEX: Healthy hair is happy hair! Thanks for your support!

Kathryn Howells: This was really helpful! I had only used no.3 up until now, just took the plunge and brought the complete set. I was nervous and didn’t want to waste the products by not using them properly. I had looked on olaplexs website but this was way more comprehensive and it was nice you went through them in sequence. Thank you!!!

Kayla R: Wow this really opened up my eyes to the importance of using hair products properly for the maximum benefit. Usually I just apply products as I wish without even considering it’s intended use . Thank you so much for this video !

Patra K: So happy that I just found you, since I'm was wondering why my hair felt fried and has tons of split ends after using #6 when I was told it also had heat protectant. Apparently not so. I'll start using heat protectant now that you stated that it's no enough to protect the hair from high heat. I also mix #6 & #7 to put in my clean hair and I love how it tamed my hair.

Keyanna Suddreth: This is SO helpful! One of the top 2 best reviews I've seen yet on YouTube. Thank you so much for making this and explaining each product so well, as well as checking with Olaplex to debunk anything that isn't necessary/true! Definitely going to try more products now! <3

Alyssa Smith: A big thank you for your research on these products! I've been using the whole line for a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it. Trying to really work on hair care so my hair can be thick, healthy and strong. Your videos have been so informative and a great help

Ashley Clark: I love the research and time it took to give correct advice instead of assumptions like everyone does. Great video!!

Maggie S.: I only really use number 3. But I had serious, serious damage as a result of a salon mistake around a year ago. I always shampoo first, then apply number 3, put a shower cap over it for a couple of hours and then wash out and condition. It only took one bottle to see amazing results, breakage stopped and shine came back. I'm not crazy about the other products, but I really can't rave about number 3 enough.

brooke elle: Since it only works while the hair’s wet, I’ve seen someone recommend to just spray down your hair as it dries throughout a day when you’re not doing much/at home, and I’ve found that way more helpful than leaving overnight.

mallemis: I always wet my hair before i use Number 0. I Saw a couple of weeks ago that olaplex was commenting on People’s reviews on Number 0 and People were using their entire bottle because they were using is on dry hair. Olaplex wrote that you Can wet your hair before using is, there should be enough for 6 uses in the Number 0. And it annoyed me so much, why not just write that on the bottle, like wtf. So that is what i do now :)

Anne Noyer-Burdloff: Hey! I have been using only n°3 and it has saved my hair so much ❤️ I now use it this way: instead of leaving it on over night and let the product dry and therefore loses its efficiency, I apply it in the morning, on a day I know I'll stay at home for few hours, and cover my wet hair saturated of olaplex with a shower cap to keep the moisture as long as possible and allow the product to keep working for a longer period on my hair. I have seen a massive difference since I started using this method. I hope this was useful

Natalie Mosko: Such an informative video! I've slept with no. 3 in before and liked the results, but now I want to try your no. 6/no. 7 combo! Your hair looked amazing in that clip!! ❤️ P.S. I just recently stumbled across your channel and have been enjoying all of your hair care vids. ❤️❤️

Sheena: Great tips I used No0 and No3 tonight for the first time and my hair feels fabulous. I rewashed my hair and applied No8 and rinsed. Its silky soft and definitely something I will use monthly and the No8 weekly. I'm sold

shivonmakeupbiz: I just love using no.3 as part of a pamper routine, I wash my hair with a purple shampoo & conditioner to tone, then apply no.3 all over and put up in a scrunchie, fake tan and off to sleep to wake up like a goddess!

LmS: Super helpful! I have fine hair too so this was really connecting with me and thank you so much for contacting the company and doing all this work for us!

Sera R.: I totally needed an olaplex tutorial like this!!! Now I feel comfortable enough to buy and use the products!!! Thank you so much! You’re so awesome!

clipinqueen: Very thorough and comprehensive review! Thanks so much. A lot of people are spraying these products onto their hair and thinking they're doing something. LOL!

Jenny Dickerson: One thing about leaving it on overnight (some people wear plastic to keep it wet) is that keeping your hair wet for long periods is really damaging. It has to do with the hair strand swelling when wet, and damaging the integrity of the strand. As for Olaplex 3, I always applied it after shampoo but before conditioner. It always worked better that way for me, rather than applying before shampoo. I follow up with an extra hydrating conditioner.

Holalettys: I put number 0 in a spray bottle and wear a face mask while spraying my hair.. That way I have more control of how much product I use.. So far it works for me.. Just got number 8 can’t wait to use it..

Blush Crown: *I use the Olaplex 0 & 3 for an hour or so then wash my hair with the 4 & 5 then use 6 &7 I think it works best when you use their whole line in a wash. Really love Olaplex! Great video!!!*

Karen Fines: I apply Olaplex N0 with a tint brush & bowl. I didn’t see any results when I first started using it as it’s so tricky to apply, but you can apply evenly with a tint brush & target the ends which always need more attention

Julia G.: Perfect timing! Just decided I need to get on a serious Olaplex regimen instead of just using no. 3 every couple months. Oily scalp/color treated dry ends—the struggle is real!

Alli H: Thank you for this video! I'm so glad I found it. I'm relatively new to your channel and like you I'm an Olaplex fan hardcore - it's my ride or die hair care. I use 4, 5 & 6 as my regular routine. I've got wavy hair and #6 really helped with my frizzies. I've been SO CURIOUS about #0, #3 and #7. I can't wait to try your overnight trick with #6 and #7 together!

Esra Dogan: Just brought all the products in the range (3-8) besides 0 as the reviews weren’t as amazing as the other products. So excited to receive them ! YAY! Even though my hair isn’t as damaged as it used to be as I’ve pretty much made sure to grow all the damaged parts out , I still have very long , wavy , course , thick & frizzy hair! Which years ago used to be platinum ! Now going to watch this to get more info ! So excited ! Also bought the new Bond Intense Moisture mask hair mask which is number 8! Thanks for all the tips ! Appreciate so much & will definitely use them once all my products arrive !

Brianna Mitchell: I use number 6 on days when I’m doing a slicked back bun. It helps keep my hair smooth and not hard like when I use gel. It even helps keep my baby hairs down

The Fit Therapist: I use 4-7. I have a dupe for 3 from Amazon that’s less than $10. It’s called Elizavecca CER-100. Works exactly the same, imo. 6&7 I have used overnight and I agree it works great. I usually put it in on non-wash days, plus dry shampoo and then run my blow dryer through again. I always mix 6&7 together. My hair is incredibly soft and healthy after being crazy damaged.

Rue Mahmood: My hair takes hours to dry, so for me Olaplex No. 3 works best when I leave it in for about 1-2 hours! Really interesting to hear what the brand recommends

Kara Cee: Oh em geee! Thank you for this video! I have type 4 kinky- curly, high porosity, FINE hair, low to medium density. I loooove Olaplex, but have had these EXACT questions. Really appreciate the effort you put into getting these answers. ‍♀️

Rosa the Riveter: Love this!!! I also use 3, 6 and 7! I’m going to start using it on dry hair and overnight because I don’t see a big difference after the shower

Hannahbelle: In the salon when we offer the #3 treatment as an add on we use a shower cap! Helps to hold in the moisture.. like you said this product works best when the hair is wet so the shower cap helps to hold all that moisture in!

Jackie Powell: I just started using Olaplex about a month ago, I have very thick, super curly, red hair...and frizz is my mortal enemy, as is dry hair...and OMFG the huge difference it has made!!! My hair is super strong, looks great, and feels amazing. I highly recommend it.

Stacy Chatterton Williams: Loved this video! Thanks so much for going straight to the source and hitting us with the facts!

Katie Z: Since no 3 only works while hair is wet, I load my hair with no 0, then add no 3 after a half hour, then I put my hair up in a shower cap or wrap it with cling wrap and put a beanie over it. I sleep with it wrapped up. The 0/3 combo works most effectively on my hair that way.

Pam Armienti: Thank you Abbey! I didnt think i had any questions until i watched you. I was at Sephora yeaterday and i passed on the no. 0 yay me and i had no idea they made no. 6 and how much i need it!! Thanks again! I just subscribed and excited to learn hair tricks to grow my 54 year old hair down to my booty!

Be Brave Be You ASMR: I’ve just found you. This is so helpful thank you. The salon uses them on my hair. I had a trial kit from them & liked but ive over bleached in lockdown so I got another but I now want full size products so this is a great help as I never know how to use them.

Priscila Nosoma: This was VERY helpful! Thank you so much! I bought #1, 2 and 3 I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY Olaplex is so secretive about how to use their products. I don't think they provide enough information about their products and those infos should be on their bottles.

Lorianne Foisy: I know you didn't talk about n°8 in this video, but a hack I do everytime I use n°0 and n°3 is that I also apply n°8 right after I applied n°3 and let them process together. My hair is heavenly smooth after that and it's less time consuming, because I also wash my hair once a week. I don't know if it's good or not in reality, but I have really good results from doing that.

Elisa Young: Thanks for the tips!! I was using no.3 on dry hair so it was good to hear that it was something I was doing wrong and could correct but I can say that anyway I was getting amazing results...so I can’t wait to use it on damp hair and see the results...even better?? Hope so!!

Susannah Lively: New to your channel. I’ve been looking for ways to “heal” from a bad dye job. You’re very clear and easy to listen to and very informative! Thank you so much.

AlexisLeona 1: I discovered Olaplex about a month ago and they are by far the best hair products I have ever used in my 38 years. I noticed a massive difference in the reduction of hair loss straight away. I used to wake up with a pillow full of hair. Now there are none! Highly recommended. I prime with No.0, then No.3 straight on top for about 15 mins. Shampoo and Condition with Olaplex also. then No.6 and 7 mixed overnight like you suggested. I'm glad i'm doing it right. Thanks for the vid!

MKG: #7 Bonding oil is my overnight treat. It alone works for my dry, wavy hair so it’s a bit bouncier and shiny in the morning. Definitely needs the added hours to be absorbed and seal bonds.

Jen: I bought Olaplex a few months ago but was nervous because the reviews on Sephoras site and Tiktok seemed so polarizing. I wasn't disappointed though. I loveeee the N3, N4, and N5. I ended up purchasing N7 as well afterwards. My hair has never looked better. For anyone thinking about buying it but you're unsure of the cost -- yes, they are pricy but a little goes a long way. I bought the mini shampoo and conditioner in January or December and have lotssss left. I have very long thick hair also.

Hannah Banana: Hey Abby, love your work. Just seen that the Inkylist has released a PCA bond repair product that’s supposed to fix damaged bonds like the OLAPLEX system. Just wondering if you’d consider giving it a try in an upcoming video? X

Punkydoodle: I sleep in no. 3 by first washing my hair, working it through my hair then covering my head with a shower cap and a microfiber towel. This helps it stay moist longer and get the most benefit of the product.

Echo Beard: Thank you queen for asking them and providing such clear answers. I just ordered everything you mentioned in hopes to reverse heat damage. Now time to subscribe to you!

jakebeauchamp3com: Yes! I typically shampoo my hair before no. 3, since I’m someone who uses rich conditioners/masks, leave in conditioners, oils/serums, etc. I just don’t want a barrier between the treatment and my dead ass hair I want what I paid for with each use!

Jamie Grimsley: I am a hairstylist and actually did add 0 to a spray bottle, just for use on my own hair. While it does definitely saturate better and I feel like makes the product last longer, it literally makes me cough Soooo yeah.... There's definitely a reason why it doesn't just get retailed in a spray bottle.

Jasmine Berringer: I fell in love with olaplex last year. I currently use no3 on damp hair overnight and then no6 on my ends once washed and damp and then a tiny bit more once dry to smooth down the ends. My hair is super dry from bleaching it over the past 10 years so I'm trying to get it in a better condition and olaplex has certainly helped. I usually put a bit of no6 in every few days when the ends feel dry. I've just ordered the Olaplex oil today... hope that will be as good! Thanks for your video, very helpful as always.

Michel Deaz: Oh my god what a great video! I just bought 0,3,4,5,6 and 7 because of many reviews but as I’m waiting for my order to arrive I’ve been questioning many of the questions you answered in this video, brilliant

spopparty: never would have thought to use #6 on dry hair overnight since it's heavy on fine hair I thought it would leave it greasy. I tried it on dry hair and it does work to leave hair soft and isn't greasy... what a good tip. plus I can use my lighter leave-ins on wet hair and can use up all of these products!

Maria Orlando: Did what you suggested and used 6&7 together overnight and what a game changer!! Thank you!

liiveiinpiink: My hairstylist told me to emulsify No.3 in your hands first for about a minute and it gets thicker so you don’t have to use as much. I was using sooo much, lol. She also told me to leave it in for a day if I have the time.

himynameiscyn: Love this stuff. I started with the 3,4,5 system and noticed my hair fall out decrease . Went back today to buy the complete system for $176. I am excited! Ready for my hair to grow

Taylor Konkel: Thank you so much for the super helpful video! I purchased everything except number zero and I’m so excited to start using my products today. I have blonde hair and have been bleaching it for about six years now. Although my hair is super strong and thick, I’m starting to see the effects of bleaching. Can’t wait to see the results!

TrueN0rth: The thorough information provided in all your videos is refreshing and greatly appreciated!

Julia Crooks: I just used #0 in a spray bottle and had no problems. I also did the #3 after rinsed out and used the shampoo and conditioner. Hope to see results in the morning

francesca menconi: Which olaplex products would you recommend most for fine hair? My hair gets weighed down really easily so I cannot decide which pairing would be best:) my hair is not bleached but it does snap/break easily due to the strands being thin - also depending on my stress levels my hair thickness vaires

DAF6508: When I sleep in #3 I will saturate my hair, put it in a top bun, and then cover my head with a shower cap. The shower cap keeps my hair wet so that the olaplex can keep working. I've tested this method against the 30-40 minute time when I'm in a hurry and the overnight treatment ALWAYS turns out so much better than the 30-40 minute treatment. I think the trick is probably keeping the hair wet....?

Shari Marie: I use oplaplex 3 with a disposable plastic shower cap which allows my hair to stay wet/moist. Therefore I leave on overnight sometimes or for at least 5-6 hours. You definitely should try this! You will love the results...just an FYI I also use Olaplex 4,5,6 & 7 and I wash my hair every 5 days! I will definitely try using 6 and 7 together on my dry hair, the day before washing thank you ❤️

marsneedsbunnies: Your hair is beautiful! After seeing this, I'm going to order Olaplex. It seemed too complicated to try before, but this really helped. I'm trying to grow my hair out and I need to hydrate and repair.

MsSuzyQ2U: I just used olaplex 0 for the first time. My hair was clean and dry and is halfway down my back in length and it only took about 1/3 of the bottle. I was amazed I used so little with long thick hair. I followed with some number 3. And just shampooing, (I haven't blow dried it yet) I can already tell my hair is going to be amazing.

Diana Fahring: I’ve been using it since you had such great results after using number 3 my hair hair been falling out like crazy ! I’ve never had this issue . Any recommendations? I leave it on for 10 minutes but I’m worried I’ll end up loosing all my hair

Lava Yuki: I leave No 1 for an hour, and number 3 for like 2 hours while I play video games. Olaplex really worked well in improving the condition of my bleached damaged hair

Christine Miller: Love the video! Can't wait to see your thoughts on the no. 8 coming out next month!

ZoalaBear: Adding Olaplex No.0 to a spray bottle is DEFINITELY an inhalation issue. I had that idea and tried it when I first got Olaplex No.0 before Christmas and I nearly gassed the crap out of myself. Even though it did cover my hair way better, once it is airborne it becomes almost impossible to breathe even next to an open window and with a mask on.

lisa: I'm so glad I found you're vlog explaining this I love this line but was confused how to use them together and as a once a week hair washer with curly hair. I do have a lot of product buildup by wash day always thought I needed to wash my hair first before using #3 my #0 came in a spray bottle tip not aerosole but a spray tip not applicator tip like you're bottle maybe they changed it do to questions about using a spray bottle.

Gypsy wolf: Olaplex saved my hair when having major issues due to health issues and because I get blonde highlights. I started using it about 2 years ago. Love it! Thanks for sharing this info because I learned a few tips.

Padma Odsal Tso: Super helpful thank you! Olaplex is kind of my last hope at this point. My hair just breaks and doesn't grow any longer than barely over my chest and I cant figure out why. I am not using any heat, protective hairstyles most of the time, silk pillowcase, no silikones, no parabens, wash only once a week, use argan oil in my ends, ... (all of this for years) like i can't figure out what i am doing wrong lol. in august i had it lightened for the first time in my life and it's just worse than it has been. (of course you know lol) but i just want it to stop to break off at the ends.. I just ordered my first bottle of the Olaplex 3. Very interested if that can help. Thank you for the video. It is really helpful

Mary: Just got the no 3. Can’t wait to use it. Thanks for the tips !! ❤️

staci151: Thank you so much for this info! I use olaplex #3 once a week and I always want to leave it on for as long as possible so this is great to know 40 minutes is all I need. I’m a once a week hair washer like you and I also use oils on my hair in between washes. I’ve found #3 works so much better for me if I wash my hair first. Just in case you wanted to try it ☺️

Clara Scollise: @Abbey Yung I am a stylist, you are using too much #6 so that's probably why it weighs your hair down. Olaplex is VERY concentrated and designed to go a very long way. Normal use is a pea size amount for med hair I'd say to the shoulders, and maybe 2 pea sized dabs for longer hair, 3 for extremely long hair. My 14 yo has the most hair I've ever seen in my 24 yr career and I have her use about .5 - 1" on each half of her hair. Hers is about as long as yours but like 4x as thick. For yours I would use 1.5 - 2 pea sized dabs on each half of your hair. Also rather than shaking the #7 upside down, it's designed to have metered drops come out by taping the bottom of the bottle over your palm while upside down and use maybe aprox 4ish drops per side give/take. Deff never use spay bottles as it can irritated the nasal passage/hairs and the lungs and cause coughing spells.

KikiRiki1128: This just came up as a suggested video and I watched it because I use Olaplex. Great video. My mom is a stylist so We just went to her cosmetologist website to order more Olaplex and I noticed now they have 0 in a spray bottle!!! So much for telling you not to use it. You probably have them the idea with the question

Emma Kallal: So, my hair stylist uses Olaplex on my hair and I have been using it for so long. She actually recommended this and this is what I do now, is use no. 3 as a leave in conditioner after I shower. Promise it is a game changer. Hair is clean, open for saturation and does not leave my hair weighed down/greasy. Would def recommend :)

SS: Hey, so glad you made this video, thank you you know you applied number 6 and the number 7 oil together over night after about 4 days and feels like butter in the morning, did you have to wash your hair? Might be a silly question but I know you said you only wash your hair once a week so I don't think you do but thought id check, to washing your hair once a week, since I have done that my hair feels so much better

Michelle McCloud: So helpful! Love your videos - so professional and informative. Keep 'em coming!

Grace De Petro: So glad you cleared up a lot of myths! Love the video... thank you

Gheri Lockwood: If you put a plastic cap on after applying #3, you can leave it on longer or overnight because it will keep it from drying out. That's what I do and it works for me.

NativeNYerChicHK: Olaplex doesn’t recommend spaying #0 but it distributes more evenly that way. So For safety sake, I make sure to only spritz close to my head so that the atomized droplets aren’t going into my lungs or my nose but only right onto my hair. I do mix a bit of it half with hot water to help open the cuticle a bit and then squirt even more on straight from the bottle, undiluted, to ensure full saturation. And then sit with my hair in a plastic cap in front of a space heater, high on a stool and a small box to lift it to my specific height while I sit in a regular chair, directed at the back of my head, on low heat for 15-20 minutes to ensure it’s absorbed in. Like my own little rigged up salon dryer Then I go in with #3 and leave that in for 30 minutes in front of my space heater set up. There’s barely any heat, just enough to warm my hair, that also helps products to sink deeper into the strand. And my hairs health and strength has improved SO much after using Olaplex on a consistent basis. This stuff is magic ♥️

Sas P: My n 6 just arrived so I wanted to see some real reviews. This was my one and only olaplex buy... I wanted to make sure I liked the brand before I splurged... and honestly I loved your review! I'm going to do the overnight n 6 thing and add just a little bit of argan oil (bc I don't have anything else!) And see how that goes. My hair is dry at the moment so I hope it'll still work ? Or maybe I should dampen it ? Either way thank you so much!

Khayteeh: Thank you for this helpful video! definitely didn’t know the oil was also a heat protectant

eef Schaap: I added Olaplex 0 once to a spray bottle and it went straight into my lungs hehehe I was coughing for 10 minutes and felt soo stuffy. So DONT do it!

Emzickle: The not putting it in to a spray bottle might just be because of the stability of the ingredients - like with skincare the formulation and preservatives might be specifically designed for the bottle it comes in. I think Lab Muffin explained this in a video recently (skincare mistakes?) x

Sarah Baty: I will be trying #6 on dry hair between washes. I already use it on wet hair on wash day. For #3 I have been putting in on in the shower. First I get my hair wet, squeeze gently to remove excess water, and then put on #3. I wear a shower cap over the product while I wash up, shave, etc. After 10 minutes I remove the shower cap to shampoo and condition.

Zahra Lamin: Thank you It’s so confusing; almost as confusing as the ordinary I’m still a little confused though. After I took the quizz to find out what I should you according to my needs, they recommended combining number 0 and 3 as I have damaged hair. Do I apply no. 0 then number three straight after or do I wait 10 mins for number 0 then apply number 3 on the top and leave for another 10 minutes? Thanks in advance

Donna C: While technically olaplex No.3 can stay on overnight, there are other similar products / other brands that you should not - eg Wellaplex - my hairdresser advised that can damage hair if left overnight - follow instructions only.

Ariel Titurel: I just appreciate that you admit you only wash once a week and have been using it for a year instead of a very platinum blonde saying she used it once and it changed her life.

Olivia: You can use number 3 overnight if you wrap your hair in clingfilm then a towel on top of that. That keeps the hair moist and damp and allows the olaplex to work overnight!

Nikki Powell: I tried sleeping in no 3 ( with my hair in a plastic shower cap & a turban on the top to keep the heat/moisture in) & it really really irritated my totally non-sensitive scalp - and it didn’t condition any better as compared to when I only leave it for an hour or so - so I won’t be doing that again!!

Michaela Wernerová: I believe that inhalation might be the issue with putting No.0 in a spray bottle. I recently watched some girl here on youtube spraying the No.0 on her hair and she was almost choking. So that might be the reason why they don't recommend it :)

Lori Pfender: Love this product my hair has never looked and felt better. I’ve been using this for about 10 months.

A: I used product 0-7 of olaplex for about 3 months and it ended up causing something like protein overload in my hair. They say olaplex has no protein and it can't cause protein overload but it seals the hair shaft in the same way. When the hair shift is sealed no protein or moisture can get in. My hair started to fall out after 3 months. Many others have had this experience. If you're going to use it make sure to keep up your moisturizing and protein products on the side. Contrary to what their website says it CAN be overused.

Lise Hünd Carroll: Hi Abbey, would you mind testing K18 hairmask? I have better experiences with it than Olaplex and am curious to hear your opinion!

Ang Toothfairy: Thank you so much for taking time to do VERY informative videos!!!
