Hey guys for this video we're gon na do a really fun color transformation, something totally different than what i normally do. We'Re gon na take my client and give her this really fun. Color block with that super trendy, bright money piece so to see how we tackled the service keep watching. You can follow me on instagram at christy at the cottage hello you guys happy new year. It'S my first video of the new year um for today's color, we're gon na be doing something a little bit different than what we normally do. Um. It'S kind of like the trendy thing to do like the color blocking over the last few months, where people will do like the really heavy platinum right here and then everything like behind there is either like a red or a brown or black or whatever. So my clients coming in today and we're gon na do that full um, strap of platinum right here and then everything back in this area. She wants to do like a coppery red brown color. So i was thinking about how to go about the service and like what steps to go first and what color to do. And i don't know if you know this about me, but i was a hairdresser in my heyday my earlier years when it was really popular to do like the chunky white with like the chunky, red and all of that stuff in the black. So i've learned from experience that when you wash out obviously the blonde with the red it's gon na bleed and go pink or um light orange or whatever, if you're doing like a coppery tone. So i decided that to start her service off we're gon na. Do the blonde first that way we can like wash it out and everything and then, when we go through and do the red we can just like, pin all of it aside and wash the red out separately without having to worry about the blonde running through her Ends picking up that color because it's practically impossible to do that without it grabbing the color, because it's so porous unless you use like really freezing cold ice water, which we might have to do anyway, since we're doing like a coppery tone. So um, that's just a really quick rundown of the color that we're gon na do today. So right now i'm gon na mix for going through and doing her blonde around her face. We just already sectioned it out. She parts a little bit further on the side. So i had to grab a little bit further back over here then on this side. Since all this hair comes on this side, making it a little bit thicker of a blonde uh, we had to go back a little bit further on this side to balance it out so um to lighten her hair, we're going to use schwarzkopf juani with 20 volume, As always and olaplex um we're going to start on her roots and just do a bleach out and then we've done blonde through her hair before so. I'M gon na have to be cautious going through the ends where the blonde is already existing. Just to try and prevent any damage so uh, that's what we're gon na do today i'll be using the schwarzkopf blonde me with 20 volume and olaplex all right. So here's my client before you can see that she has probably an inch and a half of grow out and that purple we have tried to remove that stuff and it just is hanging on and won't give up. So i don't know how it's gon na affect today's service, but i just told her we're just gon na have to work with it and see what happens so. We'Re gon na pull her color back or her pull her hair back, and i really had to think about how do i want to go about this service? Do i want to do the all over color part first or do i want to do the blonde first, and i'm really glad that i decided to do the blonde, because i feel like no matter how hard you try to keep a clean section. It'S always gon na either be splotchy or bleed onto the other color. So if at this point, if i had already done the copper tone, then at the end of the bleaching part she it would have bled onto the back section and i would have had to reapply so for me personally. For a few reasons, i think it's good to start doing this color here. First, especially if you want it to be blonde, do the bleaching first, because by the time i did the copper and was washing it out. I didn't even have to re-rinse this part, making it potentially bleed into the blonde and making it like a orange or pink toner or whatever. Just because you know in the past how um that's how the color would bleed into the platinum is, it would absorb some of that color as it was rinsing out because it was so porous. So i'm really glad that i tackled this service in that order, because her blonde stayed nice and bright. So i'm just going through and checking my application now and making sure that we have good saturation. So i'm just doing her new growth, but i'm also staying off of her roots, because i know that i'm gon na have to go back through it and pull through the ends, and i don't want to hit her roots yet. So this part of the service actually took so long. I was not anticipating how long it was gon na take it literally to it probably took almost two and a half hours just for this part because we had to go through. Do her regrowth. Let that process go through and pull through the ends and then go back through and hit her roots. So it definitely was time consuming. I feel like if this was somebody that had virgin hair. Then it definitely wouldn't have taken that long, but because we had to go through in so many different uh sections and pull the bleach and everything to prevent any damage. It was much more time consuming than i ever would have thought, and i will say that i use the same bowl of bleach for the whole process. So, even though it's 20 volume - and i pulled it through the ends by the time i pulled it through - the ends - was like probably an hour and a half into the service. So it was super weak and was not going to damage the hair right. So now we're just gon na go through and repeat the steps on this side. We'Re just gon na go through and hit her roots, not directly on the scalp yet, and this part probably sat for about 45 minutes before i felt like it was lifted nicely all right so now that her roots are lifty and nicely we're gon na spray. Her hair just to dampen it down a little bit so that it's, you know, spreads a little bit better and we're gon na pull the bleach and run it through the ends of her hair. But there's certain areas where i feel like her ends are a little bit brighter than the rest of her hair. So there's going to be some areas where i'm not pulling it through all the way, i'm going to wait till like the last 10 minutes for those sections all right and again we're gon na repeat this on the other side and this part of the service probably Sat again for like 30 minutes and then in some areas, i would check it and see how it's processing and reapply, if i needed to all right now that that part is getting close to done. Processing, not quite yet we're gon na go through and make sure that we hit all of her roots and finish up this part of the service, which we all know the roots process much faster. So this part shouldn't take nearly as long all right, we've finally reached like the last 10 minutes of this part of the process, so we're just gon na run it through the ends and let her finish, processing all right. So this is what i'm talking about when i say, i'm glad that i did the bleach first and the all-over color. Second, obviously, i wasn't being extremely extremely cautious, because i know i was going to go through and do this color last, but you can definitely tell that it bled onto the back section, and this is what i toned for 10v 9bv and i did equal parts and I let that sit for about 20 minutes. Okay, so we just got done toning, her platinum blonde pieces and i've done a few videos on her hair in the past, where we did like a lot of blonde with purple roots and man that purple we were going for a purple that wouldn't fade out and Son of a that purple is hanging on um, but it's turning until it's bleaching to like a pink color and um. We'Ve actually done color remover on her in the past when she tried to get rid of it completely, but it just was holding on and still not coming out. So there's kind of um some leftover of that, but i figure. Hopefully it will blend okay with her hair, because the color we're gon na go through right now and put on is like a copper brown color. So you guys know, i never use the schwarzkopf like agora, royal, permanent line and that's what we got today. So we're going to try this out and see how it is um. I wasn't thinking about it. I knew i had 10 volume here and i wasn't thinking she does have a little bit of gray, so i do need to use 20 volume, so i'm not using the line, the developer. That goes with this, i'm just going to use schwarzkopf sorry, matrix 20 volume for the 20 volume that i need to mix with this. So i'm going to be doing seven, five, seven and some seven seven concentrate which is like um, an intense copper, copper intensifier. Whatever. So um, that's what we're going to be doing this part of the service should go by much quicker that blonde part, oh, my god, it took forever like. I would never expected it to be hours. That'S because we had to go through apply her new growth. First then go through and apply through, like the mids, then her roots then her ends. So it's like, even though it was just that really small strap of a blonde piece like it took forever so um. But i'm glad that i did this first versus doing the color and then this or doing them at the same time, because obviously you saw that with the bleach it's kind of hard to not transfer onto the back end of the hair and i've had somebody else. In the swan do the service and she it was just kind of um. You know the blonde ends up getting in the areas. It'S not supposed to touch it's kind of splotchy. So i'm glad that we just did this front section. It'S combed out, i'm sectioning it away, i'm not gon na wash it again. We just shampooed and conditioned it that way. When we wash out this red color, we're not gon na have to wash out the bone and have it potentially like bleed or pick up the color of this as it's rinsing so um, we will keep this application much cleaner. Now that the blonde is done and uh go through and do her roots first and then apply and comb through all the ends and everything all right. So for this i use the whole tube of the 757 and probably just half of the 77 and equal parts of the 20 volume all right, so we're going to go through and do her roots to maybe the mids and then we're going to do all that. First, before we run through the ends, also every now and then make sure you grab your comb and come through to make sure you have even saturation and so that there's no like hollow spots or splotchiness within the color. To make sure that i have a very clean application, i don't even want to get close to that blonde. Yet i'm gon na section off probably like a quarter inch thick of a section and pull it aside. That way, i can just i don't want to work. Super super slow trying to worry about not hitting that blonde, so i pulled that section aside so that way, i just know that i can work quickly and i have kind of a barrier between that blonde section right now, so i'm going to do my application and Then, once all of this is applied, then i'll go through and do that barrier section last and keep that nice and clean do i'm starting to pull through the mids a little bit more and run the color more through the ends. I'M waiting until the very end of the application before i do that little barrier piece of hair there, just because i want to make sure that everything's done and i'm not moving the hair around where this could potentially fall or touch the blonde. So i have all my application pretty much how i want it and now i'm gon na go through and very carefully. You can see, i'm being so cautious. It looks like i'm moving fast, but i haven't fast forward, but i'm being very, very careful not to touch just move right up to that line of the blonde to make sure that my application does not even touch any of that blonde section. And now we're just going to finish running everything through the ends, and this will sit for about 45 minutes. So here's the final application and then she's gon na sit for about 45 minutes, and here she is after sitting for 45 minutes, and i want to say when i was washing her air out. I just had her hold those blonde pieces forward. They'Ve already been shampooed and conditioned from when we washed it from the toner, so i didn't even get that wet when we were washing the red out and um for the red, i usually wash my clients with very cool water. I'Ve had red hair before very copper. Here - and i know that rinsing with the coldest water that you can stand like as frigid as you can, is what helps it from fading. Some people say that's not true or not, but i know from experience when i had my hair was exactly this copper color before i loved it and the more cold water that you use, the less it fades. I love how this color turned out. I'M really happy with the blonde, even though it took so long yeah. We might have a little bit of that pink showing through in some areas some of the purple still that's hanging on, but we were both really happy with how this turned out. Okay, what do you think i love it? I'M really glad that we did this first and set it aside, because it still looks nice and like like really good yeah. Thank you all right and here's her before again kind of a lot of things going on with the grub, the old purple, whatever some pink in some areas and the roots and here's the after i love copper tones. I literally i had my hair this color and i looked amazing with it and i loved it, but just the upkeep on it. I feel like it's just the color that fades no matter what so i just haven't gone back to it, but it's one of my favorites and i think it's so pretty. So i was really happy with how this turned out such a pretty color love. The super bright blonde piece and i'm really happy with the application that we did the end result, looks really really amazing and thank you guys so much for watching this video hope you liked.
