Hello, my lovelies it's Leila here today. I'M going to show you guys how to wash your lucky clip in hair extensions. Although it's a fast and easy process um you girls have been asking how to do it, so we decided to just put together a quick little video and show you guys how it's done. So, let's go to the bathroom and let's get to washing. So first thing you want to do is grab you for the little box, where you're, storing your extensions and take them out, and what you want to do is close the sink and just make it coat off the dollar. Look for water, don't want it to be too hot or too cold just nice and warm. So what I'll probably need wait? A little more did you want to submerge over here into the into the sink? That'S probably enough - and next thing you want to do - is grab a shampoo and today I'm using Anna Mendte natural shampoo that I actually use for my hair. I talked about it in my video for my hair routine and basically you just want to make sure to using a shampoo, that's moisture, restoring or nourishing, because you know the extensions are. Obviously the hair is off the head, so it's not receiving any natural oils. So something like this - this is natural and herbal would be great, so you want to just pump, maybe one or two or three depending on the size of the pumps, so I just did three and then you just want to kind of go in and lather it Up in the water and then grab your extensions and just go right in and submerge them just like that, and next thing you want to do once they're, all wet and kind of wet all throughout. You want to just kind of pick them up and grab a little more shampoo onto your hand and just kind of go in all the way throughout from top to bottom and just lather it up nicely. We are going to leave the hair in the sink for a few minutes, just so that the shampoo works its way into the hair. But you just want to kind of lather it up without kind of going in the same direction like you. Don'T want to go up and down just kind of lathering it up and working it into the hair. Just like that and make sure you kind of go up here as well, but don't pull on it too much just nice and gentle and that's pretty much it for the shampoo part and next thing. What I do is just submerge it in the water and leave it on for, like I said, for maybe two to three minutes and then we'll be right. Back and I'll. Tell you what you do after that? Okay, so once you left it in the water in the shampoo water for a few minutes, you want to just unplug the sink and let all the water go down run. The water will form again up there and we want to do is start linking to here and right, separate the web, maybe into two or three and start rinsing out. All the shampoo so just run another. The word aspecto and gently run your fingers through the hair. All the way from the top to the bottom look at that, and when you see the waters running clear, you know that it normally check we will wash out of it. Let'S set it aside, drop your next clock and do the same thing do is: grab a shampoo and a deep, deep conditioning. Chef. Sorry did, I say shampoo conditioner, you want to grab a conditioner and you want to use a sort of like a deep conditioner. This is a daily repairing conditioner, which I use for my own hair and I absolutely love it. It'S very creamy and leaves my hair, nice and soft. So what you want to do with the conditioner is basically just squirt a few pumps onto your hands and grab. Maybe like two or three weft and you're, basically just going to run the conditioner all the way throughout the hair, just like that with your fingers all the way from the top to the bottom and right away, you can feel how soft the hair becomes. Just like that, just work it into the hair kind of lather it into it, and you want to just kind of set it in the sink. Just like that again, you want to just squirt a few pumps of the conditioner into your palm grab. The next webs and working it from the top go all the way down and just work the conditioner into the hair just like that. Never go opposite direction like don't hold the hair down this way. You know what I mean, because that's going to just tank a little, so you want to always work your way down. Just like you would on your head in the direction that the hair grows. So, just like that, set it down a few more pumps of the conditioner and grab the hair and just work it into it, just like that and for the conditioner you want to leave it in the hair for a little longer than we did with the shampoo. I would suggest even four to five minutes. Just because you know the hair is not attached to your head, so the more conditioning and the more treatments you can give it the better and the longer you will last year. So once you did that you want to just grab all the weft and just kind of work them all together and work, the conditioner into the hair and it's nice and soft, and then you just want to leave it in the sink. I think, and they come back in five minutes - okay, guys so now that we're back from you let the hair and the conditioner stay for about four to five minutes, and now we want to do is just grab hold in here and run the tap kind of Like a lukewarm water like before, and you want to just rinse, all of them really really well so just grab a few, not all at once, just a few and start running it under the water just from the top all the way to the bottom, just like So and make sure all the product is out, because you want them here to be clean and just kind of squeeze out over here I mean sorry squeeze out all the water, so there's less drying time, just gently from the top to the bottom. Do that a few times just to make sure that the hair is nice and clean, so just grab the next portion same thing, just races. So the last thing you would you you know that you want to do is once you've rinsed out all the conditioner out of the hair. You want to run the water cold and you want to just give it all of the hair and make quick shot of cold water, and that really helps to restore the shine in the hair. And it also closes the cuticles which protects the hair as well. So once you do that, just turn that off and just squeeze all of the hair gently going from the top all the way down. Just like that, and you want to make sure that it's as little water in the hair left as possible. So, just like that, and what I usually do, this step is totally optional, but you can use some sort of a treatment on the hair, and this is just a smoothing: leave-in cream prevents frizziness. This is the Herbal Essences one, so you can use whatever you want. If you want, you don't have to do this and I don't use a lot. I just use a little bit just kind of rub into two hands and grab all the hair and gently run it through top to bottom just a little bit, and what this does is just lets all the hair to be freeze free from this product and and Also gives it an extra softness as well, and next thing you want to do - is we're gon na take this and lay it flat on a towel, and the best place is probably somewhere in a bed. So, let's move to the bedroom once you've watched them and raced them and put in your leave-in cream. What you want to do is just put a towel over your bed or something some surface. That'S flat and just lay all of the extensions out one by one. Just like that, and you want to use some sort of a heat protectant, I'm using Tresemme heat tamer spray, and I do this on wet hair, and then I also use it right before I style just to have extra protection on your extension. And what I do is once you laid them out, you just kind of go lightly and just spray. It all the way from top to bottom on all of them, and you were pretty much done. The last step you will that you want to do is grab either a brush or a comb. Whatever works for you, I prefer doing it with a comb just because it's got the teeth are closer together, so it brushes through better for me so grab a comb either. One is fine. I'M gon na use this just because it's more comfortable for me. Alright, so you want to just grab the hair at the top and very gently start brushing it all the way from the top to the bottom, and you want to start off with the bottom as well. Just because, if there's any tangles, you want to just gently brush it out and brushing the hair when it's wet is a really helpful tip to do before it dries, because the way you kind of let it air dry is the way it will dry. So if it's straight like this, it will dry in exactly exactly the same fashion. If you let it you know kind of lay flat without brushing it, it might turn out wavy. So do the same thing with all of the hair, just gently brush it out. Just like that, starting from the bottom and working your way up - and you can see how amazing the hair is, there is absolutely no tangles when it's wet it's so soft and so amazing. So sometimes with the smaller wept. I double up and just kind of hold it up up and just start brushing the hair and, if there's a if they are any tangles, what you want to do is to kind of gently run your comb over top without pulling on it just kind of shorter Strokes and that really helps to open up the tangles and do the same thing with the rest of the hair. So once you're done brushing out all of the hair, it should look something like this nice and flat, and at this point you can let it air dry, which is better for the hair, because you know, there's less heat, damaging the hair or another option is if You'Re in a rush, you can always use a blow dryer, but without the brush, because you don't want to be pulling on it, just sort of hold up the hair and just sort of use a blow dryer on it or even laying it flat just use a Blow dryer and dry it that way, so either air dry like this or with a blow dryer. So that's it. I hope that was helpful to you guys and now that you've seen the video you know how to do it and if you have any questions, feel free to leave it in the comments below and thank you so much for watching and I'll see you guys in The next video bye

Danielle Pedroza: How often should you wash the extensions?

Lucille M: Thanks so much for all your time uploading all your videos, I have my Luxy's on today and I LOVE EM!!!! Thank you Leyla and Mimi for making these available to all of us. Love you Ladies. :>) Lucille

Angel: Super helpful! Thanks! (I have that same zebra box!) <3

Armin Rasekhi: Thank you so much! This was very helpfull to my hair extensions :) Nice, soft and shiny!

Luxy Hair: Hair masks are an excellent idea! We definitely recommend that, especially the deep conditioning kind.

Jessica Barajas: I've had my 220g Golden Blonde Luxy Extensions for about a month now and when I first received them the quality was amazing! I've been noticing the extensions get very tangely shortly after I clip them on now. I followed your instructions above and I figured it would help. Wrong, my extensions became very frizzy, the golden blonde is now fading into brown and the tangeling remains in place. I literally have to brush them every 10 min. I have not straightened my extensions, this was their first wash & the problem remains. Any suggestions?

95elisabeth: thank you so much for this tutorial, it really help me a lot! :) but I still have some questions: how often should you wash your extensions? can you use a moisturising hair treatment for the extensions? if you wash them a lot, will the clips get rusty or something? what should I do to make my own hair blend better in with the extensions? even though I have my clip-in on, it seems to me that you still can see where my real hair is, and where my extensions are, please answer me I need help:)

Gracee Rodriguez: How long do they take to dry ? Thanks in advance :)

20MadeMoiselle: You guys must have amazing houses. I always love the rooms where you film in, and this sink also looks pretty. Thank you for this usefull video. You two girls are so sweet! :D xxx

Luxy Hair: We would recommend to wash them separately approximately every 8 - 20 wears depending on how much product you use in them.

YogaLife3FREE to be Me: I just washed my luxy hair for the fist time recently. I washed and let them air dry over night without combing out straight. They dried curly/wavy and i was so very excited because i have curly hair and so I can wear my hair more natural when I want and have less damage and save time. I like my natural waves too. I LOVE my luxy hair!

MsXpert01: I have never seen such beautiful extentions though and I'm over the moon excited to purchase some of my own in the very near future :-)

Uyoyo Onothoja: Very helpful. Worked great for me, thanks

Luxy Hair: @Abscessed The easiest way would be to lay them flat on a piece of foil, and using a brush, evenly distribute the hair dye over the wefts, one at a time... always test the color on the smallest, 1 clipped weft first to make sure the color turns out as you wish :)

Josefin Markham: When you brush your extensions your supposed to brush them in the ends and work your way up. If you dont do it you pull off alot of the hair and it starts to get really thin and frizzy. It really works!

adoreabubbles: This was really helpful thanks a million :D

Luxy Hair: We recommend to wash them separately approximately every 8 - 20 wears depending on how much product you use in them.

Shelby Smith: The quality of your videos is absolutely incredible.

SupernaturalSomaya: thanks so much!!! this was reeeally helpful to me :D I'm gonna wash my new extensions just like that now!! :D

Madysen: Thanks for the response ladies! I really appreciate it. (: After talking to a couple people, that's what they said too. Please keep up the wonderful work!

Lena Nammour: thanks for the tutorial Leyla. i was wondering how to wash out all the hair spray that was sprayed on to them yesterday, this is perfect! :)

Ro ♡: this helped SO much, thank you (:

jumuelue: I really enjoy watching your( and your sister's) videos and your enthusiasm that comes across :-)) Looking forward to watch some more. Greeting from Germany!

Luxy Hair: @Afghantunes You could, but we don't recommend pulling on them too much with the round brush. It might ruin them. So you're better off letting them air dry, or blow dry with a dryer but without the brush, and then just lightly go over with a straightener :)

Coley: Leyla makes washing the extensions look soooo easy, but let me tell you, IT"S NOT! I washed mine today, and although they are fine and pretty now, washing them was a hassle because they got completely tangled...it was horrible. I followed every step in this video and it was still such a mess.

babykaylene99: Tip to save shampoo: place the pump on the water as its flowing from the base ad it automatically foams up in the water in the sink

tml 487: How often should you wash the extensions? <3

lailah420: I love your channel! I can't wait to order my extensions. You two seem so stylish, you should def do some videos on style. Leyla, where did you get ur bracelets from? Theyre so cute

Gabriela Jimenez: thats cool my mom was watching it and she did the same thing and it looks great on her thanks

War Paint With Tara: Do you recommend washing the hair when you first receive it?

easternhair: very informative! Thank you!

Marije van Maaren: by that way, thank you this was really helpful!

Luxy Hair: @AmandaCateOfficial Well, typical lifespan of clip in hair extensions is 6-12 moths... so once they are starting to become thinner and the hair starts to dry out from washing and using hot tools.. basically you'll know when you need to get a new set :)

SilverDita: When you first get the extensions, do you have to wash them?

Luxy Hair: @xxJOLLYxxGINGERxxYO hey hun.. If you follow my steps in this video at the end.. it should dry straight more or less... might have a slight wave, but it looks more natural that way :) don't wash them too much though.. every 10-15 uses is what we recommend, depending on how much styling products you use :) good luck! xx

oOlora: just got my luxy's and im wondering HOW LONG does this cleaning process take, with the air drying or even with blowdryer can someone please let me know? thx in advance

ByAirTrip: They look amazing ! Do I have to wash them before I use them for the first time ?

BellaStella: thanks for the video! I've used my extensions and the hairstylist used tons of spray ... i'm doing this today :)

Lindsey Turner: @TheZory1000 Warm is good for the conditioning because it opens the cuticle. But whenever you rinse the conditioner rinse with cold water. It closes the cuticle and prevents the hair from frizzing. It also makes it really shiny. You can do the same with your own hair too.

Luxy Hair: @beneathyourlove Not at all hun.. You are absolutely right. But in my case, I like my extensions to dry straight, and using that comb gives me those results. You have to be very gentle and brush from bottom to the top to avoid damaging the extensions :)

Yinette Martinez: i just ordered my Luxies and I cant wait for them to get here :) all this videos are very helpful!!!

K Money: I bought these about a year ago and I Love Love them!!! When i washed mines, they are very very curly. I was wondering if all the extensions comes in curly or are there straight ones too? I haven't wore them for awhile. Sometimes it grips onto my hair and pulls and my head really hurts. Is there a way to make it less painful? I think i have damaged them because they are not as luscious as before when i first got them. they feel stiff and coarse now. Is there a way to restore them?

S Ali: How often should I wash my luxy hair? Would u recommend after every time I wear them or every few wears?

Iza Garcia: have you received them yet? I'm curious about buying them....they look so beautiful!

Vangelyk Colon: Can you wash the extensions clipped on your hair normally or do we have to do this process?

Pauline Adkins: how often do you have to replace the extensions??

Christina Amber: thank you so much this helped me really good :)

Val M.: Luxy recommends washing them every 10-20 wears. However this can vary based on how much product you put on them or how oily your hair tends to get. Hope I helped!

Caroma: I have used extensiones for years and I can't wait to get my hands on a pair of Luxy!! I reaaaaally hope you ship to Mexico :D

Lasse and Vibi Vlogs: how often should the extensions be cleaned? :)

Luxy Hair: @esaMechiex3 Every 10-15 uses, or when you really feel like they need to be washed.. the less you wash them, the longer they'll last you :)

Teigen: I just got mine today and I was wondering if it dries strraight? Love them, thank you guys soooooooo much :) I have such thin hair! xoxo, Taylor

Susan: Yes I have received them and I absolutly love them.. they are of good quality and they look so nice.. get lots of compliments about them..

Ally M.: nice vid... and I love that box you keep your extensions in..what kind of box is it and where did you get it?

makattak: I have extensions like these and the first time I washed them a little bit of the color wore off into the water but almost all of it stayed in and now after that they haven't lost any more color

Luxy Hair: @magsechris hmm...I personally don't like the other kind of rollers, just because the curl is very tight, so I've not used it on our extensions. But you can try it on the 1 clip strand and see how it works before doing it on the full set. :)

Petriina K: is it fine to wet/put the shampoo or conditioner close to the clips?

Luxy Hair: @Dconverse99 Every 10-15 uses.. depending on how much styling products you use.. The less you wash them., the longer they'll last you :)

Elizabeth Voskuil: How often should you wash them?

736b23: I ordered mine a few days ago. cant wait to get themmmm!!! :D

kayla220220: i love how ur have all these videos u feel like when u buy ur extensions u can get soo much use out of them

Pteridophobia: it depends on how much product you use on them. Your natural hair is connected to your scalp so it gets oily but your extensions do not. So if you dont use product then you shouldent be washing them for weeks (about 2-3) but if you DO use lots of product then you should be washing them every couple of days (with veery soft shampoo and good conditioner) because product build up and not washing the hair can actually cause more damage than washing it too much.

Luxy Hair: @aquascum91 We've been washing ours with the clips being wet, and nothing has happened to them. But sure, you can wash them however you like. This is just how we do it, and we've been asked to share :)

mtrenchFTW3: can you use baby shampoo to wash the hair extensions? :)

Ghislaine Beauce: Have you tried your diy coconut oil mask on the extensions?

Ashley Ogas: So with the extensions, because it's real hair, does that mean you can curl/straighten it once you've clipped them in?

Jasmine Catague: Omgee! Thanks for uploading this vid. This would help me so MUCH :)

Abscessed: hi could you also do a video on re-dying / highlighting the extensions? I spoke to my hairdresser and he was absolutely clueless on highlighting these as obviously he couldnt do them whilst they were attached to my head, and didn't think laying them flat was the correct way to go about it! Sorry but my country is a bit clueless about extensions in general! Any help will be much much appreciated! Thanks :-)

Gaby Rosales: Do you have to wet the top where the clips are at?

marija013: hey so how long can the extensions last if you straighten or curl them each time?

Luxy Hair: @MrsSunshine22 I've never heard of that.. but if it's good to be used on your own hair, then you can use it on the extensions, since they're 100% Remy Human Hair :)

Baochau Tran: how long do we air dry it?

gmonmymind: Can you leave the conditioner in the hair. Like a leave in conditioner. Also, if you have naturally curly hair and wear it natural a lot could you scruch the extensions with some mousse? Thanks. :)

Rowena: Depends on how often you use them. for every day use I would suggest not washing them more than every 2 months. if you wash them all the time they start to go bad. Besides. they're probably going in clean hair anyway. just don't use too much hairspray on them. =]

brianna alexandria: i just purchased my first set of luxy extensions!!!!!!!!!!!! :) so excited

Kayla's Nail Journal: i cant wait to get my extensions :D

c love: Where did you buy the box for your extensions?

Noor Fatima: Can we use natural lighting techniques to kind of get the colour

Shelby Taylor: its really difficult for me to wash them without getting all tangly when i try to run my fingers through them

Melissa A.: My luxyhairs are here know. They are the best extensions I ever had. So soft and beautiful!

Esha Gregory: Hi! Is it possible to use Wen Haircare on the extensions or is it better to use shampoo and conditioner seperately?

xveew: Where did you get the shampoo! Very interested in trying it out!

TheJoker: can you blow dry them after washing it?

RandomessCandi: I find washing extensions more fun than washing my actual hair LOL is it just me? and i love brushing them and stuff more than my hair lmao.

SaraElaine: @mori2011ful you can but I recommend you not to do that. They will last you longer with less heat on them. If your still want to blow dry them I'd use a heat protector.

og: Can you use the macadamia treatment in it?

kbchubs: i washed my luxy extensions exactly this way and i could see the color come off and had quite a bit of hair fall-out. a few hairs near the clips are now sticking out in horizontal direction instead of vertical.. they are now drying but im scared theyre ruined :(

lisa dubin: why is it that i find this tutorial so relaxing...?!

Alessandra Seugeot: Hello! this is the first time I discovered your extensions and I love them! What products you use in this vidéo? Is that correct? Sorry i am French i don't speak very well English lool:) Lots of love :)

Luxy Hair: @lenanam It's my pleasure! Glad you found it helpful :)

Jessica Love: What do I do if my hair is medium curly/wavy? would I have to style the hair every time i want to wear it? I prefer to just let my hair air dry and let it wave naturally instead of styling it everyday. What would you recommend for me?

Arif Sudirman: Its helpfull to make my wig better :)

Luxy Hair: @stewartriches1985 I'm sure you'll know... I think if you take care of them properly it can last a year or even longer.. again depending on how you wear them and how much styling is done to them :)

Debby O'Brien: How often would you suggest washing these extensions?

Olivia W: How often do you wash hair extensions?

Christina Woo: @bubblyfishbubbly It says on their website to wash the extension every 10-15 days to remove product buildup.

Megan: ***thanks this is very helpfull!****

tequilagurl1: should i wash my hair extensions everyday or every second day?

Azzy Nicole: Hi, Very Quick Question. Do you use Coconut oil on your hair ?

Katherinelux: where did you get the storage box? Its soo cute!
