So you want to start wearing hats with your wigs, but you have some reservations and not only that when you think about it, wearing hat on a wig is kind of like wearing a hat on a hat and that's a little bit weird. Well, i'm amanda with chaquel, and i'm here to give you a few tips on wearing hats with wigs. So one of your main concerns might be that wearing a hat with a wig is going to be too hot and too bulky and you're not wrong. That is true, so really the only way around that is to make sure you're buying a hat that is made with lighter material, especially in the summer, when it's already gon na be really hot out. You could also look into buying a hat that has hair pre-sewn on it, so that you just have the one piece. So it's not so hot, not so bulky, it's just the hat, with the hair sewn around the base of the hat. The problem with that is that you can't switch out hats. You just have that one hat with the hair on it and if you want any other hats, you're going to have to wear your wig with it regardless, so that might not be an option for you. An alternative option is that companies like jon renau, they have a line called hat magic and this is basically a half wig. It'S a band that goes around your head and on the top, there's no hair to help remove the bulkiness there's just hair from the band down, so that you're able to put that on and then put your hat on. Another concern that you might have is that your wig might move around a lot with your hat on. So what a lot of people generally do is they take their hat and they make it super tight or they buy a hat? That'S really tight so that when they put it on their head, it like secures your hat to your head, which therefore must secure your weight to your head right. No, don't do that and the reason we aren't going to get a hat. That'S really tight is for a couple reasons. So one reason not to get a really tight hat. Is that any time your hat moves now, your wig is going to move with it and that's one of the things we don't want to happen. Another reason why you're not going to want to get a really tight hat is that it's going to get uncomfortable for you really fast. It'S going to be pressing in points that you don't want it to be pressing in, and you're gon na want that hat off. Before you know it, another concern that you might have when you're wearing hat with wig is the whole taking off the hat thing. You might be concerned that when you take off your hat, your wig is gon na come with it. Well, there's a couple options here. So first option: the easiest is that when you take off your hat, you're, just gon na place a finger on the front of your wig to hold it down as you take it off, and that's gon na help your wig just stay in place. Another thing you can do if you are wearing a lace front wig is glue your wig down so that when you do take off your hat, your wig's not going anywhere a third option that will help your wig not come off after taking your hat off, is To get a wig grip now this might be the last option you use mostly because this is kind of like adding a third layer to everything. You know you have your weight grip, then your wig, then your hat. It'S a lot, however, if you're feeling, insecure and worried that your hair or your wig is gon na fall off, then go ahead and use a wig grip. So all of this is gon na prove to be the same, even if you're in a colder climate and need to wear a tuke or a beanie, so you're going to want to make sure you're buying, tooks or beanies. That are a little bit bigger than what you would usually buy. This will ensure that your wig is not going to move with your hat at the same time, and it's also going to be quite a bit more comfortable. So i actually live in a pretty cold climate and i wear toques all the time and when i put them on, i often put both my hands right inside stretch it out quite a bit start from the back and come forward and then adjust it down now. As you can see, this one isn't extremely tight, which is what we want. We don't want it really tight. However, at the same time, it's still really secure, like i can pop around and it's still staying on my head and now to take this off. I would do the same thing put one hand on my wig to hold it down and then take it off, and i would take it off from the front to the back. So if i'm taking it off from the back to the front, this is what you're gon na look like after your hair is gon na get all funny, and it's you're gon na have to really fix it now. One thing about wearing wigs and hats is that the hat is going to cause a lot of friction on the wig, and this will be especially true for any synthetic wigs and if you know synthetic wigs, you know that any friction on the wig is going to Cause the fibers to really mat and knot up, and it's going to make the wig not last quite as long so one thing you can do to protect your fibers before you put on your hat is use a conditioning spray all over your wig, so that you Can help protect the fibers i like to use jon renau's fiber love, conditioning spray on my synthetic wigs. Now, as we all know, when people who have their own hair wear hats, and then they take them off, they're gon na have hat head and their roots are gon na, be plastered down and they'll need to do a lot of work before their hair is gon Na look half decent again now with wigs, especially with synthetic wigs. Your style is generally going to stay intact, which is amazing, however, cold set might happen, which means that your hair is kind of going to mold a little bit into the position that it's pressed in or your roots on. Your synthetic wig are going to flatten a little bit now in order to avoid this with your synthetic wig you're going to want to pull your hair back first. So it's going back and then put your hat on and notice. Even with this hat, it's quite a bit bigger, so i'm basically just placing it on my head. So it's not going to move my wig when my hat moves like my hat's moving, my wig is staying where it is, and also it's quite comfortable because it is just placed on. I barely feel like i'm wearing a hat, and now, when i take this head off again, i'm going to take it off from from the front going backwards to help push my hair back, so it doesn't create any crazy styling. At the end of the day, hats are such a fun accessory to add to your wigs just to give you that extra little pizzazz in your styling, so i hope i've, given you a few tips that you are able to use for the next time you decide To try wearing hats with your wigs have a great day guys bye,

Michelle Baker: This was so helpful! Thank you. I picked up some really good tips

peperlover99: I always wear hats over specifically pixie wigs in the winter. I've found pixies are easiest to wear hats with because there isn't as much hair to mess up, also I don't need to worry about tangling with my jackets.
