Alopecia can happen for many reasons, from stress to cancer treatment and weight loss to illness. For some the reason is never known, and for others it may never return.

Of alopecia sufferers, those with a reason for their hair loss sometimes find losing their hair a lot easier than those who have no idea why it has happened. For those who have no reason or explanation for a sudden loss of hair, they often second guess many aspects of their lives and may even increase the problem by trying to work out what has caused it.

It is important to visit a doctor immediately at the first sign of hair loss to determine why it is happening and begin a course of treatment.

In certain instances, a doctor may find that alopecia is caused or worsened by stress. Many do find a positive effect on regrowth when the sufferer has less stresses in his or her life. However, staying de-stressed is a lot harder than it might sound.

Dealing With Hair Loss Stress Correctly

As soon as you make a positive change towards how you deal with stress, it will begin to impact all areas of your life. It will also hopefully encourage regrowth, however if you fail to maintain regulated stress levels you may find your life and side-effects quickly return to how they were.

Yoga

Whilst yoga is centuries old, it has only recently been discovered as a wellbeing tool in the western world. Yoga is a great tool for pain relief, improving movement and flexibility, losing weight and most importantly giving you a better state of mental wellbeing. Subscribe to a Youtube yoga instructor, and never spend a penny trying out the celebrity favourite.

Meditation

Like Yoga, meditation is an age old art that believers say can heal the soul, relieve stress and help balance your emotions. It is something that can take a while to learn, as you need to believe in it for it to be able to work. It can also take a long time to learn how to fully clear one’s mind.

De-Clutter

A cluttered home makes for a cluttered mind. De-clutter, clean out and give your home a fresh appeal. Take your old clothes down to the charity shop, clean out the drawer next to the sink, make over your, now adult, children’s teenage bedrooms and ask your husband to finally clear out the garage. As you empty your home of clutter, use it as a metaphor for doing the same in your mind.
