One of the many things we love about beauty is its ability to lift your mood. Now more than ever, we’re constantly on the lookout for beauty trends that’ll insert some positivity into our day or make us feel like the queen we are. And while we realize makeup isn’t a cure for the current state of affairs, we’ve also learned to appreciate anything that puts a smile on our face (or our manicures). So if you, like so many, are feeling the fatigue of 2020, look to these five beauty trends to brighten your day.

1. Tie-Dye Eyeshadow

 

Tie-dye is one of 2020s most popular trends! From tie-dye sweats to face masks, we’ve been living in the fun-loving print. It’s no surprise as it instantly brightens our mood and is also hella-cute! Now, the trend has filtered into our eyeshadow game and we couldn’t be more obsessed.

 

While tie-dye eyeshadow appears as if it should be reserved for beauty bloggers and makeup artists, it’s easier to achieve than you may think.

The most important thing you need to remember when sporting a vibrant eyeshadow look like this is to create a base using a white liquid eyeshadow or fair-toned concealer. This will not only create a clean canvas for application but it’ll help the color pop and remain vibrant throughout the day. Then, to ensure the pigment is popping, use a flat, densely packed brush and gently press the shadow onto the eyelid. Clean up the edges with some micellar water and a Q-tip for a polished final look.

2. Smiley Face Nails

 

When we said these beauty trends will make you smile, we meant in a literal sense too! Smiley face manicures are super popular among celebrity nail artists right now, everyone from Harry Styles to pop queen Dua Lipa has experimented with the trend.
