I love Valentine's hairstyles! Of all the holidays, Valentine's Day is my favorite around which to style hair... there is something simply so cute and romantic about hearts in hair!!! From the number of views we get on on our V-Day heart hairstyles, I think you agree!

This year we wanted to do a tutorial, different than our Flip-Braided Heart, for an older teenager or even an adult female. I saw photos of a version of this lovely hairdo on the "Hairdresser on Fire" website and wanted to show all of you how to do this in video tutorial!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 2 small hair elastics, 2-4 bobby pins, hairspray, ribbon or bow {if desired}.

You are going to be so excited because today we are going to teach a new Valentine's hairdo., So one of my favorites are the Valentine's dos and so we've donned our Valentine attire today. Just for this video. And this one we're going to call twist-braided heart. And you will love it.. So I like this one, because it's a little bit older and more sophisticated version of the heart. On her --, I'm going to flip it around. So you can see --, you can see she has bangs, so we've left those out. And she also has a lot of layers in her hair, which is perfect for any of you that have layers. And I have parted her hair down the middle.. And then I have just parted it over towards her ear to make a little triangular section and there's two of them. And then you're just going to pull all of this back just really softly.. And if you're going for more grown up sophisticated look, then you can also tease this quite a bit. If you want to. And then start a basic braid. Now the only trick to this braid is you want to try to get as close to the middle part as you can.. I didn't like that sectioning. So make sure you just try to bring it as close to the middle part. And you'll understand why in just a second.. So this is really simple., Just a basic braid., Nothing super fancy., Braid it. And when you're done secure it with an elastic. And your hair doesn't have to be very long either. To do this. One -- just long enough for probably six inches of braid., And you can see now that we have these two braids that are just close to that middle part.. Now this is where the twist comes: in. You're just going to take each braid and give it a little twist., And then I'm going to take a bobby, pin and secure that little flippy right there. And we're going to do it on each side.. Just take this one and twist it to the opposite: direction., Can you see we're forming our little -- the little curves of the heart And bobby, pin this one. And then I'm just going to simply bring those ends together and undo these elastics. And I'm just going To literally put them back together and let the rest of the hair fall, down. Go back and hide that pin.. So there you go. Simple simple.. What do you think of this hairdo -I like it, because it feels secure and super cute for Valentine's, Day. -I think a little ribbon --? I think a bow would be amazing on this one.. I love that it's so soft. Leave the bangs down and loose and you're ready to go.. So here is the finished look.. You can see this so cute little heart. And you can envision --. I just had a ribbon bow here at the house. Today.. You can put one there.. I still think a fabric heart would be the most adorable thing. Ever., I'm going to have to go, buy some fabric hearts. So I have one for Valentine's. Day. Check it out..
