4 Strand Ribbon Braid Heart, Valentine'S Day Hairstyle

Hey guys today we're going to be doing a Valentine's hairstyle and I started just by putting some curl in her hair. I used our curling iron and the technique I used. We have a video, for. I will link that in the description box below I curled. All of her hair, except for what I brought into this half ponytail, and what I'm going to do is add a ribbon to this elastic. The ribbon that I'm using is probably about four feet long and I'm just going to thread it through the elastic until the ends are about the same length. So it's basically split in half now I'm going to take my Topsy tail and flip the hair. Add the ribbon through and if you don't have a Topsy tail, you can always just make a little hole here above the elastic and flip it through with your fingers, and I am bringing this through the opposite way as you normally would. So. I'M sticking this underneath like this and then I'm going to thread the hair through the little hole and then I'm just flipping it inside out. So at this point, I'm going to take the ribbon and just lay it on either side of her head and then I'm going to split this hair in half and make a four strand braid with each side. So you want to set your strands up like this. I have two strands of hair and then the ribbon and then the fourth strand of hair on the other side, and I'm going to be starting with this strand here. That is next to the other piece of hair. So I'm going to take this strand and I'm bringing it over the piece of hair it's sitting next to and then it's going to go under the ribbon. Now I'm going to be working with this drown, that's in the front and I'm going to bring it under the strand of hair, it's sitting next to and then over the ribbon. So you just want to repeat over under under over all the way down the braid I'll show you again, starting with this strand here I'm going to go over and then under now I'm going to be working with this strand here at the top. I'M going to be bringing it under and then over and I'm just going to repeat those steps all the way down. Okay, I'm just going to braid it down to there and then clip it off with this little clip. While I do the other side, one thing you'll want to keep in mind. I used pretty thin ribbon here. If you use thicker ribbon, the braid is going to look completely different, so just depending on how you want it to look, you can change up the ribbon. Okay, I have both sides braided and now I'm just going to bring these together in the back into a heart, shape. Okay, so now you'll just want to go back and pin this into place. If you want it sitting up on its side like that, you can make it that way or you can lay it flat, just whatever your preference is, I'm just going to add one bobby pin to each side just near the top of that heart. Now that I have that heart secured into place with the bobby pins, I'm just going to take this ribbon and tie it into a bow here at the bottom and then I'll, probably just grab the curling iron and curl these ends so that they match the rest Of her hair
