Welcome to Laci bows, boutique, ribbon, sculpture, tutorials and tonight I'm going to show you all how to make the woven heart. Now I don't like to do copycat videos because I know there's a lot of woven heart videos on here, but I do do mine slightly different than the other people on there. So that's why I'm going to go ahead and make a video see mines not stacked on top and woven it's just it's slightly different. I like the way that I came up with this one better because it comes out more even to me. If you look at others on there, they're pretty but anyway, this is for this sized heart three inches wide by two and a quarter inches tall. If you want to make it bigger, then you just raise your measurements equally among two like. If you took this to five inches, which is a half inch more, you would take this to four and a half inches. If you took this to five and a half inches, you would take this to five inches. You just do it evenly and it'll all come out even same if you want to go smaller, but you can't go too much smaller on a woven one, because then you won't have enough ribbon, especially with three-eighths ribbon, to fold it backwards and to get it right And it'll be bulging and everything, but this is the size that I like to make. It can still go a little smaller. I believe that I always make it like this, so you're going to need four and a half inch ribbon and four inch ribbon. In the same color you're going to need one of each in the same color, 1/4 and 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch and then the same over here. A 4 and 1/2 inch and a 4 inch for a total of 2 4 and 1/2 inch pieces and two 4 H pieces, so you need two different colors I like to use solids on the woven ribbon. I don't like to use prints because when you fold them around, sometimes you end up with two pieces of print together on the the fold or it just doesn't come out right. I'M such a perfectionist and everything has to be so even with me, I'm just like that. If you want to do it, please do it let anyway, so this is your supply list. That'S what you're going to need now you're going to want to heat, sell your edges. You just take a source of fire right across the stop. You can use a cigarette lighter too, and do it whatever makes fire run it across the edge, don't burn yourself and don't catch a ribbon on fire. Do it really quickly, but I've already heat, sealed all these edges. So I'm going to show you all how to make this woven heart, really quick. So you start off by taking your longest pieces, your four and a half inch pieces. Okay, and you decide which side you want your heart on always start with the right ribbon. On the top and the left of it up ribbon on the bottom, so you're just going to glue them sideways like that. So you take this and you want to make sure that your ribbons are cut with very straight edges for the woven, because you're going to be seeing these top edges. So you just glue that as evenly as you can in that corner right, there just make a V out of them: okay, and now we're not going to mess with this anymore. These two for a little bit until the very end now you're going to want to take your pink ribbon, the one that matches this and you're going to glue it this direction, but you're going to glue it on the bottom of this underneath so you're going to Take this whole thing that we just glued and flip it over and then glue your 4-inch piece of the pink or whatever color you're, using right here, you're going to glue it on the back right along even with that one along there. So just put a little glue right here and glue this, even with the edge right there right along the side of that one. Okay and then turn the whole thing back over again. Now we're going to take this purple one and you're going to be going this direction with it and you're going to glue it evenly along this edge right here, get the little glue strings off. So this is right side up again. This is how it's going to go on right there beside that point run in parallel with the purple one right there, so I'll just turn it sideways so that I can get the glue on it right and blew it even with the edge right there. So now this is what it looks like in the front now, just trade places with these right here bring this pink one up over the top of this purple like that, okay and then flatten it out, and now it looks like that. I hope that wasn't confusing. It was just a purple one along this direction and a pink one along this direction, but the pink one is glued in the back purple. One is glued on the front okay. Now, if you want to take and glue that down to that one, you can, but you don't have to because it will all be pretty tight here in a minute whenever we get it folded. So now take your pink one and I'm gon na pick up. You take your pink one, okay and fold it backwards down toward the thing, don't fold it toward you fold it backwards and around so take this top, and this top is going to end up back here. So you take the top down and over to here, I'm going to glue it right there so see it went down. Top part is going to be right here, but not that way you want to go backward with it like that see that loop. So that's where you're going to glue it right there, so I put a little bit of glue right here: okay, take it backwards and down and glue it right there. Okay now take this purple one and thread it through that loop right there right through there. Okay same thing: with this one you're going to go backwards, all right, you're going to go under that loop right there and we're going to come back up through that loop, okay and then down again. So you can see how that makes a woven effect. Okay - and that was the most complicated wave part right there, you take this fold it backwards. Okay, then you come up through that loop. We just made with the pink one thread it up: okay over the top and then back under. If you glue it up here, you see you have two Purple's together, so we're going to do that, we're going to take it under and then this one's going to glue to the back okay, so you glue that sideways to the back right there put glue in There all right, you can see, there's that heart right there, that's our middle heart piece, so I like to stick a piece of glue right between those two right there just to hold them a little flatter, just put a little bit of glue in there like that, And another one right here where this purple one is: stick it up just want to flatten that down right there, a little bit of glue in there. You can leave it puffy if you want it stopped mandatory to put the glue in there, but it just makes it flat and hold its shape. Okay, all right! Now these two pieces sticking up right here we're going to make your big outer heart so you're, going to take the whole thing and turn it upside down looks equally as get on the side as it does on the other side. Okay, now you take this pink one right here. I always start with the pink one and you just fold it toward you and down and put it right beside that pink one right there, because this is the back and this purple one's going to come over and make the weave look right there anyway. So this is the only time you're going to put the two Pink's together. So this one you're going to fold towards you and glue it right there, okay, a little bit ugly, there fold it toward you, because we do have it upside down. Put that right there, like that okay and you're gon na do same thing with this purple one it's going to go right. On top of that, a little bit ugly! There fold it towards you and down wrap they're right on top okay and get rid of all your glue strands turn it over and there's your woven heart, okay. I hope that wasn't too confusing. This was one of the most confusing for me to learn how to do, and I still have to reference this, so I turn that over to look at it, but anyway, now that you've made your move apart, you can put it on a lined alligator clip you'd Want to have this land, you can put it on there make a clippie out of it. You know, put it upside down or even just cover the whole thing put the point right there, and then you have the whole Clippy covered. Also, this is, can be a variation of my love bug. If you look over on my love bug tutorial. Okay, this could be the wings for the love bug. As you can see, you can make this the wings of a love bug. You would put those pom-poms that I used on that side in the middle would make another variation of the butterfly and it would have the woven look to it. So if you haven't seen my love, bug tutorial, go, find it and watch the love bug, but instead of making the wings like that over there, you can make them out of this over here and if you want the Pink's to be on top, you would just Reverse the entire: the way we made it with purple on the sudden pink on this side and then your other wing, you would make it with pink on the side and purple on this side. Then it would look at this or if you made it smooth enough really, you can't turn it upside down because of that right there, while we glued that, but that's what it would look like if you did pink and purple opposites, but you would just glue those Two points together in the alligator clip just watch the love by tutorial you'll, see what I mean just replace the wings with this. Instead of the way I showed you how to do it on. That is one that would make it different on the Love Bug, but it's also part now you can glue it on there. You can put it on woven headbands, you have the woven, headbands can put them on there like that. Actually doesn't go with that because this is glitter. I'M gon na do something else with that, but that's how you make my version of the woven heart. Thank you for watching y'all have a great day.
