Dutch Heart Braids 2-In-1 | 2019 Valentine’S Day Hairstyles
Are you guys ready for a #2-in-1 #hairstyle tutorial?? I love both of these ADORABLE #Valentine’s Day looks so much, so I wanted to show you how to create both! Which look do you like more??
Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I wanted to show you guys how to create these Dutch heart braids. I was trying to decide which look to film, and I just couldn’t pick (they’re both DARLING)! They both require 2 dutch braids, with the only difference being 1 heart at the bottom of the braids, or 2!

Hairstyle 1:
Step 1: Divide hair into 2 even sections
Step 2: Create a dutch braid on each side

Step 3: When you reach the neck, fold up the remaining hair and place an elastic (creating a small piece that holds the hair upside down)
Step 4: Separate the non-braided hair into 2 sections
Step 5: Braid each side (normal 3 strand braid)
Step 6: Join the pieces together with an elastic
Step 7: Repeat on other section of hair
Step 8: Pancake the braid to make it look fuller & fluffier
Hairstyle 2:
Step 1: Divide hair into 2 even sections
Step 2: Create a dutch braid on each side
Step 3: Once you reach the neck, secure all of the hair into an elastic, creating a ponytail
Step 4: Find a hole between the braids, & flip the ponytail up towards the ceiling. Pull through.
Step 5: Separate the ponytail into 2 sections
Step 6: Braid each side (normal 3 strand braid)
Step 7: Join the pieces together with an elastic
Step 8: Tug the braid to tighten the heart. Use bobby pins to hold the shape of the heart if necessary.
Items Needed: Comb/brush, elastics
Time Requirement: 10-15 minutes

( upbeat techno, music, ), Hey everyone., I'm Mindy McKnight from Cute Girls, Hairstyles. Kilee's here with me again today and were gon na show you another Valentine's hairstyle, and this hairstyle is going to be Dutch Heart two-in-one, which is awesome., So you get actually two hairstyles. Instead of one., What do you think of that Kilee Better. Better.? Alright lets get to it.? Okay, you guys to start this hairstyle. We divided her hair into two, even sections., I'm going to do a Dutch braid on each side., So I'm just coming up to the top and starting three sections and it's gon na be a Dutch version of a French braid.. So this is pretty basic. If you don't already know how to do a Dutch braid, I have another video on exactly how to do this, and I will put it in the I Button right up here. So you can find it. Leave a comment below you guys on whether you prefer a French braid or a Dutch braid.. I would really like to know which one you guys like better., So leave a comment down below and tell me.. I think I kinda like Dutch personally.. What do you think Kilee? Do you like it where the braids pop in Or where the pop out, I don't know. Both Yeah., As you can see, I'm just working my way down picking up hair as I go. And I'm picking up all the hair.. There'S really nothing complicated about this at this point. We're literally just doing a braid. ( country music plays ) Okay. When you get down here to the bottom, I'm gon na do like maybe a stitch and a half, and then what I want to do is fold It up like this and I take an elastic and I'm going to rubber band that bottom., So it just creates kind of a little piece right here that holds this upside down and then I'm going to divide this in half. And what we're gon na do is Braid these two sides and then were gon na make our heart, and you can already see that beginning to happen just because of the way I have it shaped. And then do just a normal three strand, braid., Here's a trick I'll show you guys too, while I'm Here., If you have hair like this, you can see that when I divided this off there's some hairs that are much shorter than other hairs.. I always try to make sure that I get a section that has some longer pieces in it too, not just all those short pieces., Otherwise you're gon na run out of hair to braid with when you get part way down, and then it just doesn't work out.. So I always try to divide the hair evenly. Okay. Kilee. Will you hold that for me for one sec, Can you reach back and hold onto that? Then I'm gon na do this one. ( upbeat music ). Then I'm gon na take the two pieces and just join them up so that they create a cute little heart right here at the end. ( upbeat, music, ) And, as Kilee just said, voila. ( upbeat, music ). Now I'm just gon na take that whole thing and repeat it on the left: side. ( upbeat, music, ), Okay, I've secured this section. Again, I'm just gon na divide it in half creating two separate little braid pieces and I'm gon na go ahead and do three Strand braids on each side., ( upbeat, music ), Then just create your heart.. I might just kinda look at this one next to it to make sure that were getting roughly the same size, heart going and they're hanging about evenly. And there you go.. Now, if you wan na notch it up a level which I always do, you can go back and pancake the braids too.. So if you just pull, this is just gon na soften up the braids, a little., It's gon na make them look a little more grown up. It'S gon na give it a little more fullness to the shape of the braid and make their hair look way. Thicker than it really is. There you go, it just makes it look a little fluffier.. So the best part about this hairstyle is it's actually a two-in-one.. So you can wear this hairstyle, that's so cute or you can do this hairstyle.. So I'm gon na show you now how to do the second one., So you undo the elastics and I'm just gon na undo this little bottom part. Just kind of gently pull and that loosens that elastic right, off., I'm gon na pull them all together and solidify The two braids into one right at the nape of her neck., Okay, then I'm going to undo these braids and brush out her hair.. Okay from here I'm gon na take this.. You already kinda have a natural hole because the braids were two braids coming together. So I'm just gon na take this and flip it up towards the ceiling. Tighten it down and again, it's gon na give us that nice heart shape right. There.. I'M gon na divide it into two sections. They're, pretty much even.. That feels pretty good to me. And then I'm gon na do a braid on each side.. So this is just a normal 3 strand, braid. ( upbeat music ), And I'm not even doing this super tight., I'm just gon na. Do it really quick. Kilee? Will you hold that for me Repeat on this right, side., (, upbeat, music, ) And then we'll bring them together. And you can make your heart as big or as small as you want. It's up to you.. I find that if you do a little smaller, sometimes this shape sits better versus long and hanging.. Then after I get it secured, I always give it a nice little pull right here and if it still doesn't have enough arch for your taste, you can always take a little bobby, pin and just secure those in the back to give it a really nice solid Heart shape., ( upbeat, music, ) And then comb out the ends. And again, as always, you could add a cute pink ribbon, a red ribbon, a cute red puff a scrunchie anything like that. Would look really cute at the end of this hairstyle and really make it pop too.
