Would You Chop Your Hair Short Like Alicia Keys?

Alicia recently chopped her gorgeous curls off into a ultra short bob. She tweeted the picture on the right along with this message:

It’s looks very salt n peppa circa 1980 and can be worn both curly and cheek length or a straight neck length chic bob. She obviously has the perfect face shape to pull off any style so naturally the cut suits her. The cut also coincides with the release of her new single ‘New Day’ and the cynic in me wants to say publicity stunt? Even if that’s the case however, she still looks fab!

Alicia’s hair puts me in mind of the first few months after I went fully natural after my BC. I fondly remember my days of wetting my hair every morning for an easy wash and go because it was the most convenient way of doing my hair then. Braid outs and twist outs were a once-in-a-while hairstyle and the freedom of not having to run away from the rain was . . .  heavenly!

I can’t say that everyone feels the same as I do but now that my hair is much longer and the idea of a wash and go brings me out in a cold sweat, I miss the carefree ease of shorter hair. I’m not saying I would chop my hair off tomorrow. I’ve worked too hard and I want to enjoy length for a few years yet but they say that you should never say never. Recently I installed some crotchet braids to reminisce about my shoulder length hair and 3 weeks later I am still wearing the same hair – somewhat of a record for me!

Bottom line, short hair rocks! What do you think of Alicia’s new hair and would you wear it as short as her?
