woman-with-itchy-scalpAll of us have itchy scalp from time to time, it happens to the best of us. But some of us go through a major struggle with trying to keep our hair moisturized throughout the day, and usually, it ends up in  very uncomfortable situations.

But no more ladies, you can stop itchy scalps fast with these quick home remedies. Your hair will feel as good as new, and your scalp will LOVE you for it!

Tea Tree Oil*

I can tell you from personal experience as well as scientific research, tea tree oil is one of the BEST solutions to an itchy scalp. I had such an itchy scalp that when I looked at my scalp in the mirror, I saw cuts and my scalp was almost white.

But after a week of daily morning and night application, my scalp felt like a new woman! Tea tree oil is an noninflammatory, anti fungal, treats dandruff, and antibacterial oil naturally, and one of these three things is usually the cause of your scalp itching.

Also, if you have any abrasions near the scalp or on your scalp, tea tree oil* is a natural antiseptic. You can use tea tree oil in various ways:

Add it to your shampoo or conditioner on wash day.
Scalp massage every day for an intense affect
Add it with some coconut, vegetable, or Aloe Vera oil and apply to scalp with scalp applicator

Apple Cider Vinegar

Using apple cider vinegar* is a faster approach, in my opinion, for an itchy scalp, but apple cider vinegar has a few cons. The smell has always bothered people, but you can always cover that up with a nice leave-in conditioner*. But also, apple cider vinegar* is very thin, and doesn’t take a scalp applicator as well.

But the vinegar levels out pH, which can really help your scalps dry patches. It also has very high anti-inflammation properties. You can use it apple cider vinegar in a few ways:

The best way is while the hair is wet, maybe wash day, and leave a set in for 15-20 minutes
While the hair is dry, mix apple cider vinegar with a cup of water and spray on hair

Jojoba Oil*

Jojoba Oil is the liquid that comes from Simmondsia Chinensis plant and has the same make up of sebum, which is our natural hair oil created by the sebaceous glands that helps our hair grow. Jojoba Oil* was  meant to be used for dry skin or scalp.

It is a natural healer and moisturizer which can help your scalp rejuvenate your scalp in its brittle state. You can use this oil for not only your dry scalp but for split ends, tangles, a hair shiner, a conditioner, a cleanser, or to dissolve excess sebum build up in your hair. Jojoba Oil for itchy scalp is meant to be used sparingly and can be used in a few ways:

Massage a FEW drops into the scalp each day
Mix into a deep conditioning* mask
Coat hair in Jojoba and wrap a hot towel around hair for about 15 minutes, then rinse out.

coconut-oilCoconut Oil

Coconut oil is something all ladies love to use, but not every one knows its great for an itchy scalp!! Coconut oil is a natural anti fungal and anti bacterial product, and those two things are sometimes the cause of an itchy scalp.

Although coconut oil doesn’t have all the specific properties as the other home remedies do, our hair yearns for the type of moisture coconut oil* gives, and that might be the problem with your itchy scalp. Coconut oil* is very versatile in the ways that you can use it:

Implement into your daily regimen, whether that is daily oil, weekly co washes, etc.
Use a scalp applicator to apply onto scalp and then massage it in the scalp every other day
Add 2 tbsp of water, olive, and conditioner to coat onto hair every other day
Mix in with conditioner on wash day and apply onto ends and scalp

Essential Oils*

Essential oils have recently become a natural hair trend and for a good reason. they all carry a long list of great properties for hair health, and they smell great when added to the right mixtures.

There are plenty of essential oils for you to try: Peppermint*, Lavender*, Lemon, Almond, Agar, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Hickory, and the list goes on for what seems like forever.

A few are used for hair growth, some used for sealing ends, but some you can use for an itchy scalp effectively including Peppermint* or Eucalyptus Oil. these are great because they include pH balances as well as properties to get the blood vessels circulating again, which can help an itchy scalp immensely. The best way to use essential oils*:

Use the scalp applicator that the bottles come with and drop a few drops onto the affected areas
Using one of these remedies should surely help all scalp problems fade away. Did we leave any out? Comment below and tell us what you think!
