3 DIY Conditioners You Just Have To Try

3 diy conditioners you just have to try

One of my favorite parts of being a natural is getting into the kitchen and trying new concoctions I’ve either read or heard about and want to try for myself.

Treatments, such as conditioners, are within my top choices of hair aids to make for myself. Nothing beats knowing exactly what you are putting onto your hair, especially when they are made up of things you actually consume.

Here are three simple recipes for conditioners that I have found offer great results.

Winter Hair Conditioner

Winter Hair Conditioner

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp almond oil*
  • 1 tsp avocado oil*
  • 1 tsp olive oil*
  • t tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

This conditioner makes for the perfect “pre-poo” prior to shampoo. It works great on dry, brittle hair, especially during those cold winter months. Just mix all of the ingredients well, apply to dry hair and cover with a plastic cap for 15 minutes. Shampoo and style as usual.

Nourishing Protein Conditioner

Nourishing protein conditioner

  • 1 egg white
  • 5 tbsp plain yogurt

This nourishing protein conditioner has the ability to give your hair softness and shine while strengthening it. All you have to do is beat the egg white until foamy and fold in the yogurt. Apply to your hair and leave on for ten to fifteen minutes. Rinse and follow up with a good deep conditioner*.

Tropical Paradise Conditioner

Tropical Paradise Conditioner

  • 1 avocado (peeled and mashed)
  • 1 mango
  • 1 cup coconut milk

Avocado is recommended for its hydrating benefits and proteins while mangos are great for nourishing your hair with vitamins* and minerals and promoting hair growth. We all know the amazing benefits of coconut oil*, so coconut milk is one of the hair conditioning secrets.

Just combine all of the ingredients until to smooth. Apply to hair, leave on for ten to fifteen minutes and wash out. This recipe can also be used as a deep conditioner* if you cover your hair with a plastic cap.

Remember you can double or half the recipes as needed. As always, because the ingredients are perishable and without preservatives, you want to make sure you make enough for one time, immediate use and do not store.
