Refresh Old Hair With Wand Curls For A Quick Fab Style

Donedo

Fall and Winter are the only times I pull out my Wand Curler because the air is cooler and my curls can actually last longer without any worries about humidity.

To start off the Fall styling season, I thought what better way than to show off some of the cute styles I have been seeing on YouTube one of which happens to be wand curls by Donedo.

Donedo has color treated hair and her strawberry blonde curls looked amazing in the wand curl style she did. She started off on old stretched hair that was in a bun for awhile, here are my tips for a successful style on old hair.

1. Ensure that your hair isnt ‘produckty’

This means, ensure that your old style does not have a bunch of product in it, like gel, edge control, styling creams or anything of the sort. If you are not going to start off fresh with a wash and condition, your old style needs to at least to be free of molding or styling solutions.

2. Use a heat protectant*

Since you are using a curling wand* I would suggest using a heat protectant* on every section of hair so that you can protect yourself from heat damage.

3. Use small sections

Depending on the look you are going for I would suggest using small to medium sections for each go around on the wand. The smaller the section the more defined the curl and the longer the style will last. If you want loose curls then, by all means, use bigger sections.

4. Deep condition after with protein

Once you have worn the style and you are ready to wash and condition your hair to ensure that you deep condition using protein to replace any lost protein that may have happened when you used the wand. Deep condition using an overhead dryer for at least 25 minutes.
