Would You Wear Kinky Hair Extensions?

I have used extensions off and on during my hair journey and I genuinely think that they are a valid way to protect your hair from the elements as you allow it to grow out underneath. Hey, we all know that ‘a good regimen’ without protective styling isn’t enough for many of us to get long hair so every method helps right?

I have tried straight and kinky* curly extensions* in the past. In my experience trying to keep your natural leave out hair straight to match extensions is a nightmare and one that generally results in you having to flat iron* every day, not great.

Blending with curly extensions is also hit and miss because some hair textures just won’t hold on to the created curl pattern long enough to have a flawless blend. Again this means a LOT of manipulation on your leave out hair. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just let your leave out do it’s thing? Shrink, poof out, whatevs.

I was recently made aware of a new company that is offering extensions* that blend beautifully with kinky hair textures; think stretched and combed out 4a and 4b kinks. Luckily enough YouTuber African Export has already used and installed this hair. Take a look . . .

Can I just say, WOW, after watching the video you can see that the kinky hair extensions* blend flawlessly with her real hair (which is gorgeous anyway) and the whole look is on point. Also goes to show that even at 18 inches kinky* hair will always want to shrink back to your shoulders!
