This spring, bold, mold-breaking fashion is in style. And beauty trends are no exception. Ulta’s beauty trend report claims that we are in for a reemergence of individualism, after a period of limitations: “Today is all about creating our own visual definition of pretty with a reinvigorated commitment to owning individuality and beauty.” How refreshing! In other words, anything goes– just make it your own. After seasons of lockdown, we all feel ready to show our faces, and should do so boldly. While natural, fresh makeup will always be in style– update it with a flash of neon liner or a swipe of saturated shadow. Maximalism, in all of its glory, is here – and we are here for it. Read on for some striking eye looks that make a statement:

Graphic Neon Liners

Neon Liner

An easy way to dip your toes into this season’s adventurous beauty vibe is a graphic, neon eyeliner. A simple bright swipe just along the lash line feels cool without being overpowering. Build your way up to multiple colors à la the Versace runway. We especially love this look against a nude, fresh face.

Embellished Eyes

Embellished Eyes

Y2K vibes are lingering– take it from these eye embellishments. I definitely had packs of these as a tween; what’s old is new again! Etro’s SS22 runway featured chic sparkly gems placed on the undereyes of models. Try these dainty pearl embellishments from Ardell for an even sweeter look.

Glitter

Glitter Shadows

All that glitters is not gold– could be fuschia, neon yellow, deep navy…

This season we are feeling sparkles on our lids. Yet another trend that came and went in our youth- and is now back with a vengeance; only this time around it feels fresh and sophisticated.

Abstract

Abstracts

Whimsical shapes around the eyes in bright and pastel hues are a playful trend worth trying. Going beyond just a vibrant liner, this trend encourages you to tap into your creativity and create abstract art right on your face. Most importantly? Don’t take it too seriously. Have fun!

Double Winged Liner

Double Winged Liners

Straight out of the Euphoria handbook –thanks to the show’s makeup artist Doniella Davy– is a simple double winged liner. If you’re not into crazy color, but still want to embrace the bold eye trends - try this minimalist technique for just a little something extra.
