How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist and where did you study?

Currently attending Lt International Beauty School. I’ve been doing hair since ’98.

What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?

Braiding is my specialty. I am just learning about natural hair and I’m loving it. I can do relaxed hair and also color.

What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?

Being able to create. Hairstyling is an art and I seriously feel like an artist constantly working to perfect my craft.

When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?

I just tell them to let me know anything about the last time they got their hair done by someone else. Then I make the proper adjustments.

If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?

I honestly can’t think of anything at this moment because when I think of cosmetology I’m always thinking change. It’s always evolving so I believe their really is nothing to change.

Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?

In a few years from now I see myself definitely owning my own salon. While having my teachers license so that I am able to help others with their apprenticeships.

How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?

Constant schooling. You can learn so much from others. So what people are willing to let me know I am willing to find out and do my best to perfect it.

Here is a chance to sell you ‘the stylist’ and your business, tell us why we should utilize your services?

I believe you guys in the Philly area should utilize my services because I am not a huge chain. I’m my brand therefore when u come to my independent establishment. You’re getting that one on one consultation your getting that easy going person whose going to keep you engaged and not rush through your hair just to get to the next dollar.
