I am a licensed cosmetologist. I work at royal reflections barber and beauty salon In Longview, TX.

How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist (or equivalent in your country) and where did you study?

I have been licensed for 3yrs and I studied at Kilgore College in Longview, Tx.

What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?

My specialty is Natural Hair, braids and weaving.

What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?

The best thing about being a hair stylist would be to see the transformation of my clients. Not just the physical but the change within there hearts when they leave my chair.

When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?

I just reassure my client that i am here to take care of and maintain their immediate and long term hair care needs.

If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?

I would change the education system. Instead of just learning the fundamentals, I would teach more creative styling techniques.

Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?

I would like to own my own dance studio. And I will have my hair salon attached on to the studio. I would like to style hair for dance competitions and for the open public.

How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?

By seeking God for guidance about the gift He has given me. Also by challenging myself with new skills to enhance the gift.
