Hillary, I work at Genesis Beauty Bar in Monroe, NC. I am a Licensed Natural Hair Care specialist and a Licensed Natural Hair Care Instructor.
I have been a Natural Hair Care provider for over 20 years but I have ben licensed for over 5 years.
What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?
I specialize in Twist and Tree Braids.
What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?
Seeing a satisfied client always makes my heart flutter. I love it when my clients feel good about themselves.
When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?
I always help them find the good in their last experience always uplifting other stylist.
If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?
The respect of time from chair hoppers. Industry loyalty for the sake of healthy hair. I want clients to understand that going from chair to chair for the best price is not the way to obtain healthy hair. Find a stylist and stick with them and you will find that your hair will love you for that.
Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?
Teaching more classes.
How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?
My Clients keep me motivated and on top of my game. They are always challenging me with the latest trends.
