How To Do A Twist Out On A Not-So-TWA

1a

When you are rocking a TWA and it is growing you might think you cant do certain styles, but if you have enough length to twist your hair, its time to start trying something a little new. Ms VCharles is growing out her hair and she demonstrates how she does a twist out on her not so TWA. The thing about twist outs on shorter hair is that you wont have super defined segments like a twist out on longer hair but the style gives your hair some great texture.

Here are a list of things you should not forget when doing a twist out on your TWA

1. Do not use a ton of gel – All you need is your moisturizer, you can choose a creamy moisturizer to ensure that your strands feel and look hydrated because essentially your hair will be exposed to the elements like the sun.

2. Do not forget the oil – A little oil can give your hair a little bit of shine and helps your hair to hold moisture longer. Go for a light oil so that it doesn’t get all over your skin since your hair is shorter.

3. Do not be pick your hair too much – You want to keep the texture of the twist out so while we love the afro pick don’t pick your hair out too much, just lift the roots to get rid of the lines of separation from your twists. This makes your hair bigger but keeps the definition.

4. Don’t forget to style those edges – Your edges give your twist out dimension and makes the style look neat from the front, so get a little tooth brush and exercise some edge control. Don’t do too much, just enough to get your hair neat.
