Whether store bought or homemade, rose water takes beauty to a whole new level. Most of us do not know all the good rose water can do for your hair and skin but it can give your hair and skin that glow…a natural glow. Rose water is commonly used as a facial toner and it can sometimes be used to treat acne, too, but you are really here about the hair right?

Can rose water help with our hair?

Sure it can, rose water naturally conditions and moisturizes our hair and if you make this a part of your regimen, you can reap shiny, strong hair with some serious growth. Rose water is also great for an inflamed scalp as well and if the scalp just massage your scalp gently to get the benefits.

One of the easiest ways to utilize rose water is by adding it to your shampoo or conditioner or as a spray mist. Of course as we mentioned you can always purchase rosewater, but whats the fun in that, why not make your own, here is what you will need:

►Pesticide free roses

►boiler (pot)

►strainer

►pitcher

►glass bowl

►purified or distilled water

►aloe vera juce

►oils* (optional)

►spray bottle

*Adjust measurements to your liking*

1. Wash freshly picked rose petals.
2. Place the petals into a pot.
3. Add just enough of distilled water to cover rose petals. (Too much water is not good. We don’t want watery rose water)
4. Put a lid on the pot and steam on low or medium.
5. When the color of the roses fade, turn off stove.
6. Pour rose water into strainer over a glass bowl to collect the water.
7. OPTIONAL: Grab your spray bottle and add 1-2 ounces of aloe vera juice* and a few squirts of oils*.
8. Refrigerate after every use.

This mix is perfect for when your hair is in protective styles. Talk about a good feeling to the scalp when you are dealing with braids and twists over a long period of time. Whoa!
