Under 5 hours? Ha! I said the same thing. That is down right impossible, but I think I was wrong. For anyone who gets Faux Loc Extensions* often, or even Box Braids, or twists, then you know that it could take anywhere from 8-10 hours – if you want them neatly done and long that is. Well, check this out, you can achieve any of those looks under FIVE hours.

The trick is Crochet Braids! What you do is invest in some pre-made loc hair, which is basically dread locs already formed and in a pack. Femi collection Jamaica Braid hair is pretty much pre-curled hair that resembles nicely formed dread locs, and is five dollars a pack, which is not bad for the pocket. You will need a crochet latch needle, a lighter, Marley braid hair, and braiding hair.

Okay, so basically, you are crocheting the locs in all over your head, and leaving a small amount of the front of your hair out. After you finish crocheting everything, you do the regular faux loc wrap in the front of your head to give the look a natural look by braiding your hair down with the braiding hair and wrapping it with the Marley hair. Genius, right?

Doing your faux locs in this manner saves MAJOR time! No sitting aroung for 8 or so hours to get every strand of your hair wrapped with Marley hair – hec a girl has things to do.

Here is the video that inspired this article post. I thought this was just absolutely amazing, and a huge time saver.
